I think that I basically knew about the Geforce4 TI4200,4600,4800 line of vid cards. Consensus seemed to me to be that the TI4200 was good value for money - not as slick as the other 2 models but very satisfactiry for use with the Sim after being matched with a fast processor.So-- could somebody tell me where the FX range fits into the picture. The 5200 is quite inexpensive while the 5600 and 5800 require a mortgage.I was just about set to purchase a Gefore4 TI4200 -- now I don't know what to do.HelpThanksBarry

There are 2 logitech joysticks in my choice and I can't decide which one to buy.Can anyone help me?I am looking at its strike force 3d and the cordless joystick.. I don't care about force feedback feature on strike force 3d, but I like its 2-hate design, one for pitching and one for different views. But I also afraid if it's centering is not accurate (That's what I learnt from my current wingman force 3d), does this problem exists?And what about the cordless one, does it points accurate?I like to hear feedback from users of the mentioned joysticks as well. I just upgraded my computer and OS and re-installed fs2k2 but now I don't have any ground or water textures. I've tried every combination of settings I can think of including moving scenery up in the library with no luck. I was getting some really weird stuff until I turned off MIP mappping (I'd have to double-check I'm at work) with no luck.All my scenery is just one flat color (same with water). I can see all the bldgs etc but no ground textures. I occassionally get multiple horizons. Hi, I recently upgraded from Windows 98 SE to Windows XP (SP1). I am getting some graphics problems when running FS2002. I see pixels on the screen,intermittently, blurred textures, a blinking cursor and the text in the ATC window is not as sharp as it was in Windows 98SE.I have the latest drivers for all my hardware, and tried turning things on and off in the video-card settings. Can someone please help me before I change my OS back to Win 98?? I have just installed Win XP Pro onto my computer and I installed my MS FF Joystick which appears to be working on XP, well I can calibrate it and test the buttons etc. The probblem is that in FS 2002 the joystick does not seem to work.I can select a joystick when in 2002 and it recognises that one is fitted but it does not let me change the forcefeedback settings. Anyway, when I run 2002 the joystick does not work! hi all,i have an Asus A7V8X mobo which came with the AC97 onboard sound, there are three holes at the back of the soundcard one pink, green and blue, in the green one i have plugged the main speaker cable and the other two are vacant, i want to use my headset to use for Vatsim on Roger Wilco, but when i go and try and test the mic, it comes very soft and muffled, does anyone have any solutions?thanks!

Well, as some of you might remember, I'd been planning on a computer upgrade over the past few weeks, and this morning I finally executed my plans. I am now running an Athlon XP 2500 on an ASUS A7N8X main board with 512 MB of PC-333 DDRAM. I also upgraded to Win XP Professional while I was at it.However, I believe both my CPU and memory are not running at full performance yet. According to the BIOS, my CPU front side bus is still at 166 MHz, as is my memory.Could any of you tell me what other setting I might have to change to get my system up to full power without ruining everything?Thanks!

HiI've recently upgraded my mobo and cpu from an xp1600+ to an xp2400+ running on a gigabyte ga-7vax. However, i must say the results have been very dissapointing as i'd be hard pushed to say for sure that i've seen any improvement in those magical fps's !!!My normal "home" airport is gary summon's uk2000 stansted using the pss a320. When parked at the gate with the cockpit view, i'm getting 12fps - no more than i got with my old xp1600+ system.I attempted various tweaks (windows xp, graphics card, o/clocking) but all i see is "maybe" a 1 fps difference.The only way i can see a marked improvement in fps is to drop the ai traffic (all of which is project ai) to very low le…

Hi all,Im having several doubts about my problem...when Im at 1280X1024 all planes looks exactly as they should be (in size) and FPS arent high...but when I change to 1024X768 Project Airbus A320 looks kinda a A318 , samething with all other planes (too damn short)...and my FPS are like in 40 vs 25 in 1280X1024.I've tried several new and old drivers...nothing changed with this.Please help with this...any comments, or this is common

Yes, it's another post-upgrade question. The problem is that I cannot access the directory with my personal data on my hard disk. I split my HD into three partitions - the first one (C: ) for the operating system and applications, the second one (D: ) for use as a file storage, and the third one (E: ) for games. However, when I wanted to access the folder which holds my personal documents on the D: partition, I was getting a "permission denied" error message.Does anybody know what this is all about? I'm running Win XP Professional and am logged in as an administrator, if that should help you.Thanks again!

I have just recently got a FireGL2 card from a friend of mine. It is the card we use @ school for renderings and all, but once I installed on my computer, I have not yet to run any applications with OpenGL or Direct X. Any ideas why?I have HP MediaCenter PC 854N with 2.5GHz P4, 512RAM and FireGL2. It does or should have AGP4x though, which FireGL2 is supporting.Config Tab says, Hardware Accereator is turned to the max, yet applications says can not initialize Direct X or OpenGL.Any helps are appreciated.Takehiro Nakamura

Hi!today i bought a new graphicscard. A Geforce 4 Ti4200 8X with 128MB DDR ram. I had a geforce 2 MX400 with 64MB. In Adition i bought 256Mb ram , so that i have 512MB PC133 now. I still have my old Athlon 1.33 Ghz processor.I thought that i would have much efort on graphics. But i have only 3-5fps more , i'm more than disappointed. What can i do? i doubled the Ram size and i have a much better gcard ,but almost nothing happens! After my ch yoke and rudderpedals stopped working, and i have no idea why the usb wont recognize them after i formatted my disk, maybe i lost a disk with drivers, i only have one disk from CH and theres no drivers on that. Anyway i bought the Logitech 2.4 joystick just to be able to fly again, but wow this is a great joystick with plenty of buttons, only downside is that it uses batteries, but the feeling of control is just great.

I have the CH ProPedals and recently I need to take the back off to give them a good clean - full of dust and other unmentionables. There are two large springs connected to a centre piece and I am not sure where the other end of them is supposed to connect. I have connected them to two large standoffs on the bottom of the casing and while the pedals move they do not auto-return to centre. Has any one else tried this or am I the only stupid one :)--qnh

Currently I have a P3/1000 with 512 meg RAM--and a Geforce2Mx with 32 meg vid card.I am reasonably happy with the way it performs -- but the vid card was always a budget match to a reasonable processor when I first built the machine.I can't justify a complete new machine yet -- but I can get a Geforce4 TI4200 -128 meg card at a reasonable price.What kind of impact on my viewing experience could I expect from this vid card upgrade?? I know that FS2002 is CPU bound -- but there is a considerable difference between these 2 cards -- so I should be able to see 'some" onscreen difference.Thanks Barry

After needing a card upgarde I decided its either going to be the Fx5900 or the new radeon 9800 256mb. After some research and benchmark scores I come to find out that nVidia is boosting its 3DMark game test scores by cutting corners in the 44.03 DetonatorFX driver that is being used for testing.
