I am trying to update my computer which has a PIII 800mzh with 256RAM and a 8mb graphics card. What I was wondering was what would give me better performance in FS9? 384 of RAM or a 32 or 64 MB video card?

Hello All,I recently noticed something odd. When I increase my settings, my frame rates go up. This is the world upside down.My system specs.Athlon A64 3200+1GB Corsair 3200 ram120 Gb HarddriveHercules 9800 pro 128 mb video (430/360)Omega driver for the video card.Whenenver I increase my setting in the 3D tab of the video driver I get better frame rates then when I decrease these settings.Also In FS. When I increase the view distance and the cloud details I get better and more stable frame rates.This is very odd.Regards,Peter

Just released - according to the read me:"Display corruption is no longer noticed when switching between 2D and 3D modes in the game Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004"I assume this means a fix for the bug where the outside view would get all garbled when you use the menus... Greetings!I recently purchased the CH Products yoke, but have discovered a problem -- it won't stay firmly attached to my desk. The front edge of my desk has a bevelled, rounded edge, and after a few moments of use (especially climbs) I find that the entire yoke assembly has developed play in the pitch axis. Still flyable, but annoying.I've tried tightening the screws down, but I'm afraid to put too many turns on them lest I strip or crack the plastic. I've also tried rigging up some cord to literally tie the yoke to the desk, but the play stubbornly refuses to disappear. Hi,I've just ordered an XFX GEforce FX5900 card (still waiting for it to arrive), but i'd like to know how to install. I've currently got an ATI Radeon 9200, so I envisage some problems due to different drivers. Will this be a problem, or would it be a case of installing drivers, then "plugging" in the card and restarting my PC?Thanks for any advise

I get a 1/4" black border only on the right side of my monitor when running at 1600x1200x32 in FS9 in full screen mode. I have a 19" CRT monitor and an ATI 9800 pro video card. This border does not appear on the WinXP desktop when it is set to 1600x1200x32 @75hz. When in window mode in fs9, I have the window stretched to cover the full screen, but when I switch it to full screen, I get the border. When I run FS9 at 1280x1024x32 I dont get the border in full screen. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Just built a new rig consisting of: Intel D875PBZLK mobo, Intel 3.0ghz 800mhz FSB, 1gig Corsair XMS pc3200 memory, SB Audigy Gamer, and my old GEForce4 ti4200.Now, on my old rig (a P4 1.5ghz with 512MB ram and the same video card) I was getting frame rates no lower than 16 or 17, any aircraft anywhere with all slider maxed except the 3d clouds and low water effects. With my new rig I cant get any higher than 5 or 7fps if there is a single cloud in the virtual sky. What am I missing? I have turned off several of the unecessary processes by way of msconfig and the services tab, and have tried disabling hyperthreading in BIOS (no difference by the way). Why was my perfor…

This morning, I downloaded the latest 4.4 Radeon drivers and gave them a test flight. After installing and doing the warm reboot, loaded up my flight sim to my usual test conditions. I first found that the new drivers would not display in full screen mode, although the sim was running fine. Bounced between the sim and the console changing settings but found that I only got a visible screen in windowed mode. I also noticed that when I tried full screen and then back to windowed mode, the sim lost all FSAA, no matter the setting.Well, I shut down the sim sim after flying around a bit; all other aspects of the flight seemed good. Hi all,Recenlty i reinstalled Win Xp. I now seem to have a problem when installing NL2004 it will look for FS2004, and it will show up only it's not selectable because it's not in the registry, so it will not continue it will exit the installation. I consider upgrading my graphics card. At present I have a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440. When I bought it there was GeForce 2 3 4 and MX variants. Now there are no GeForce 5 or MX variants.So what is the meaning of the GeForce 5200 5600 5700 5900 and radeon 9200 9700 9800 together with suffixes PRO ULTRA XT? I have an Athlon XP 2000+ PC with integrated graphics and a nForce motherboard and chipset driver. Will this chipset cause a conflict if I install a Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card (assuming I remove the Nvidia remnants using a program like NFR?)

...or when I load a saved flight. I just upgraded my system from an Athlon 2100+ to a new MB and Athlon 2800+. I am still using the same ATI Radeon 9500 Pro and SoundBlaster Audigy. I reinstalled windows and all drivers (newest versions available). I reinstalled FS9 and started it up. Everything went fine but as soon as I switched to create a flight it crashed to desktop. Same thing happens if I try to load a flight. I don't know what's going on. Everything worked before the upgrade. Also other games work fine as does 3Dmark03. Anybody know of any issues with a 2800+ and FS9 or have an idea what might be going on? I would appreciate any ideas.Thanks,Chris

heyFor a while i've had two joysticks. I originally bought the Thrustmaster Flight Control Package which included a joystick, throtle quadrant, and rudder pedals.however, the throtle quadrant didn't work with XP, which is what I had. So when I rang up and complained, they sent me out a brand new THrustmaster Afterburner (an even better jostick and throttle :D) which was much nicer than the old one, and let me keep the old one. However the problem was that without the old jostick installed the Rudder pedals wouldn't work.After going withou the rudder pedals for a year or so i finally decided I wanted to use them so I plugged them back in along with my old joystick, and lef…
