Hello!I have a Logitech Freedom 2.4 joystick, which generally is fine, but in my sims (FS2002/FS9), the panning function is a bit jerky;i.e. not at all smooth.I have updated drivers, checked settings, etc., but that doesn't seem to help.Does anyone know if this could be fixed? If so, I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks!Hans HermanssonSweden

Any of you GoFlight hardware users have any idea why my GoFlight Configurator will not "see" FS2004 after a win98SE reload? In other words, there is no FS2004 tab where there should be in the upper right-hand corner, but interestingly, it sees my long-dormant FS2002 program just fine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. GoFlight has failed to respond to any of my several E-mails on this issue.http://www.2decker.com/media/solent1-2.JPGAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MDhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/83092.jpg

my problems keeping the default baron 58, mooney and the kingair in level flight during a 20 or 30 degree bank are solved. they are no longer as sensitive as they used to be. no more jerky elevator. very smoooooooth. i had a logiteck wingman extreme 3d, just bought a saitek st290 and it makes all the difference. the above aircraft were unflyable as far as i was concerned. i talked to rod machado, microsoft and many other people about my problem and tried everything i was told but still it didn't work. didn't think there was anything wrong with the stick but i tried a friends and saw a difference so i went out and got one. i can't believe how smooth the aircraft fly now. …

  4. Hi,I run FS9 on a laptop, which has an ATI Radeon graphics card that I can set to 128 MB. However, increasing that will eat into my RAM - RAM will go down from 512MB to 448MB.Is that worth it? Or should I leave the memory allocated to the RAM?Or even extend my RAM? To how much?As it is a laptop. I cannot exchange the graphics card, so I am definitely stuck with a max of 128MB.I run FS9 with LOTS of AI (UT, MRAI, PAI), all maxed out, ActiveSky, and some quite demanding scenery.Any hints

I'm buying a new PC soon for the whole purpose of improving FS performance (I'm sure no one else has ever done that!), and in anticipation of the big day I've been reading up in the forums on different ways of tweaking FS9. One of the methods I've read is dedicating a HD partition to FS9, but most messages leave it at that, as if the rest of us mortals know how to do that. So would someone be kind enough to write a beginner's guide to HD partitioning, including such topics as how much room to devote to the partition, what files (if any) need to be in both partitions, etc. I'm assuming, of course, that this will yield some noticeable benefits to FS9 performance. (If it…

Hi - Well, my trusty old PIII 1.2 isn't cutting it anymore.. ;)I'm considering getting a new system, as my old one is finally starting to give out. I don't necessarily need a new monitor. What I'm hoping to find is a great, sub-$500 box, basically - I can upgrade the vid card later if needed, of course.Needless to say it will be used for gaming, among other, lesser activities such as work.I just want to find, I guess, the fastest, most loaded system which perhaps will work fine to start but that I can add a great video card to later. Thanks,Andrew

I upgraded my PC several months back - it now has an Athlon XP 2800+ CPU, Radeon 9800Pro 128MB graphics and 1024MB DDR RAM. On the whole, it's still in the higher end of the PC spectrum - though far from the top these days - and I get good performance, but I do still get some annoying performance problems. (I don't want to reduce any of the display & hardware settings, which I seem to have about right after lots of trial and error - not that reducing the settings somewhat makes much difference to these performance problems/annoyances). I wonder whether the following are common to many people using FS9, or whether they are restricted to my PC for some reason:1. Scenery…

I have been owning a TrackIr 3 pro and using it with much satisfaction for a week now with FS2004, IL2 and X-Plane. It enhances the immersion to an almost real level, and I would not sim without it anymore. To synthetise the main reason for this statement: I can now rely more on visual clues while manoeuvering (e.g. look in the turn etc.) rather than unrealistically only check the instruments to figure out the attitude of the plane.I have however been faced with teh same minor problems which were mentioned in threads in this and other forums, namely: 1) unintentionally changing the head/body attitude for other reasons than changing point of view with TrackIr while fly…

Just installed and upgraded four new harddrives to a four unit RAID0 configuration and installed a new Audigy 2 ZS sound card, installed software, formatted the HD's and made a new XP Pro installation. Everything looks and works great with the exception of the following.I cannot format floppies. When I click format, nothing happens. No error messages, response, acknowledgement that I have done anything, or anything. This happens both on my standard floppy drive ("A") and a parallel LS-120 drive ("B"). Everything else works fine on the floppy drives. I can read, copy, install and anything else one would do on a floppy. I just cannot get the format command to be acknowledge…

My question is if I purchase a new SATA drive can I still run one or both of my ATA drives? The details in the manual don't say anything on running HDD's on both SATA and ATA.ThanksPhil

Guys, I have what is a perplexing problem. For a number of different reasons, I decided it was time to format the Operating System drive of my computer. Well, it doggedly refused to format despite a number of different things that I tried so I resorted to an FDISK. Now that the drive has been given a thorough lobotomy, I'm noticing a problem trying to put it all back together again. The drive in question is a 120 GB WDC drive. Up until now it's performed flawlessly. When I re-set the partitions, it reports it's maximum size as 73 GB. What gives here? How can I re-claim the rest of that drive.ThxBobL

Being hasty in an eBay purchase, I bought a set of CH Pedals for Mac instead of PC. The hardware seems to be identical to the PC version except for the ADB cable. I was wondering if it would be possible to hack the cable and put a joystick port on it, or if there was some kind of adapter available to convert the ADB to USB or gameport? -Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.png

Had to re-install win-xp updates , sp1 , all Drivers, etc. COF loads okay and while flying COF, all is okay. With or without using FS NAV and ActiveSky2004. All works fine, save flight and exit ok. When I close COF it generates an error report. The error heading is multiplayer.Dll...when I start COF again, all my settings are back down to the defalt ones. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling COF, even deleted COF and installed it. No luck. Microsoft no responce. Have 2 HDs, Win-xp…

I have a hard drive that is split into two partitions (C and D), each roughly 110 GB in size. When I booted the system today D was gone! I couldn't find any trace of it whatsoever (and I have FS on the D partition so that would have meant a lot of work being lost!). After rebooting everything looked normal and I can now access the D partition again, but now I'm worried... what if it happens again? The system I'm using, while fast and nice to use with e.g. Lock On and FS2004, has caused me lots of headaches. It won't boot unless I have a recovery CD in the drive, but when it's up and running it generally works well, except that it's more unstable than my previous system, es…
