Hi Folks,I have the opportunity to get a HP Dual-Processor Xeon 3GHz machine with 2MB PC2100 RAM for very few money. I could plug in my trusty Radeon 9800pro for Graphics.Any ideas if this will do any (far?) better than my current Athlon2700? Or should I go for a 3GHz P4 instead?Thanks for any adviceTorsten

Potential buyers should be aware that there can be problems with this stick under Windows XP. On my PC and some other PCs it has to be unplugged then re-plugged in every time the PC is started. Hi all, Recently purchased a Maxtor 160GB USB external hard drive to backup all my flight simulator files. The drive was formatted Fat32 and I just converted my internal drive to NTFS and reinstalled Windows Home XP. Reinstalled FS9 and attempted to pull my backup FS9 folder off the new Maxtor to the internal drive. Have done this numerous times in the past off my 2nd internal drive . I keep getting a unable to copy box. Able to move a few individual files but unable to do any bulk copy/paste or cut/paste from the external drive. Also getting messages that some file names are too long. Had a hard time to begin with copying the files to the external drive but managed …

Hello everybody,I am a happy owner of a decent piece of hardware (PIV 3.2 1.0 Gb RAM on an ASUS MB P4C800). To make it complete I threw in some cash and bought myself a ATI 9800 pro Grap. card.Nothing wrong with te speed of my system then but there is something that is bothering me for quite some time.Everywhere I look in FS9, I see the textures of the scenery shimmer and blur. I once thought it was my GForce card but the problem didn't go away with the changing of the cards. I have heard that the less there is on the harddrive the faster thing loads in FS. Therefore I wonder could buying a separate harddrive dedicated for only FS, significantly improve FS performence?I often see the harddrive being accessed when I use FS.

Hi does anyone know why the visibility changes constantly in 2002. I fly out of EGJJ To EGKK set the visibility for 5 miles, (local) then 20 miles for Global. But instead of changing to 20 it changes to unlimited. Any idea'?Best Wishes,Chris

Just tonight noticed a few of my multiplayer games were very sluggish online. When I go to Windows task manager I have a entry near the bottom for System and its up around 60% or so give or take. My CPU usage is around 85% and its never been like this, usually hardly anything really. Im stumped...ad aware and spybot have come up with nothing and AVG sees nothing either, Im wondering what is up and if anyone has any ideas about what it could be.Thanks Hornit

Hello I just bought a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Processor and I am having lock ups in fs2004 .The motherboard that I bought seems to be the issue with onboard sound even though I have disabled it.AT the motherboard tech support they are saying its because maybe the software will not support 64 bit systems. I have just bought this card to upgrade from a Geforce FX5200 256MB card. My system has a 64bit Amd 2Ghz chip with a KT8 Neo MSI motherboard, 160GB Maxtor hardrive and 1024Mb of Memory. Basically this card has unlocked my cpu so that not only do I get faster graphics but smooth controls and maxed out settings.I have left the FPS set to unlimited and I am getting around 35-60 FPS in heavily clouded skies and with VFR uk scenery cleary visible (yes I said visible). The clouds are maxed out and are volumetric in that you can see passing layers without any pauses or stutters. I have a FX 5900 Ultra 256mb- Trilinear Optimization- Ansiotropic OptimizationThey are on by default, and I was wondering if they need to be on, or have any negative affect in FS2004. I have Trilinear filtering turned on in FS already. I do NOT use AA in FS. I was wondering what would you all say is currently the best driver for the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB video card for playing FS2004?I'm currently on Catalyst 3.10 which is old. I know some of the early Catalyst 4 versions had lots of problems and degraded visual quality in FS2004.Does anyone have any recommendation? Hey all, I got the Xtasy 9600 XT 256MB 8x AGP card today for my PIII 500 machine (upgraded to a Tualatin 1.2), and has a 200W power supply and a Diamond Viper 770 Ultra 32.So I got a 300 watt "ATX" power supply and -nothing- happens. Not that anything is supposed to happen other than your machine turning on, which mine doesn't.I put ATX in quotes because it's the first I've heard the term and don't know what my current machine has. I'm thinking this may be the reason it isnt' working... but if it's just a bad supply, I'd be surprised, becase, man, they haven't perfected these things yet? ;)No problems with the original supply. Hey guysi sorta lost the instalation cd (i have had the Virtual Pilot pro for a while now) and the problem is that when i have the throttle at idle in FS its not quiet, its just bit more and i cant calibrate it to go to 0% cause my thurst reverse wont work....can anyone please help me?cheersNick

Hello,I have always used my FS9 in standard configuration, my pc is Hyper Threading P4 3.0 Ghz powered. As I want to fly Meridian by Flight1 that uses Reality XP avionics, the Garmin GNS530 makes FPS terribly bad. Also, I noticed that for example PMDG virtual cockpit has such a better FPS after disabling CPU1.What are your experiences with FS9 and HT? Should I leave it so that CPU1 is disabled and only CPU0 running? Does it do more good than bad or more bad than good?
