Well,I finally received my package today that should have included the Vector Expansion together with a TrackIR3. Guess what. The package was empty except for the phoney hat which I never wanted in the first place (incidentally did not untick the box). Here is what their support looks like:Wrote an e-mail to their 24/7 support. No replay after 8 hours.Called their UK office. All lines busy, answering machine took a message with a promise to call back. Of course no call received as of yet (8h). Of course they have my money and the bill with all items was included. No note about having something on backorder or something.I am pretty poed I can tell u that.Alex

Decided to post these results as a new topic because it got buried in the previous USB highspeed drive topic: This was a suggestion by Soarpics to try HDTACH to determine efficiency of USB external harddisk with FS9:Thanks Greg for the link. Hi all, I recently acquired a custom built system (P4 3.0GHz, 1gig DDR Ram, MSI motherboard, ATI X800) specifically for FS9. However, after much trial and error with the display settings and trying different drivers, I have a problem with the ground textures that cannot seem to disappear. (BTW I tried a search on this topic but to no avail). (All sceney textures are default BTW). All other textures (buildings, aircraft, scenery, etc) are fine, but the ground textures are light blue close to the aircraft.(Almost watery in a sense). It is even more pronounced in areas close by the sea. I have tried a reinstall of FS9 but to no avail. Currently, I have the 4.9 ATI drivers …

Hallo there,Just out of curiosity - is it normal for the FS to engage the processor by 97-99%?I run it in windowed mode and just recently fired task manager to see what is going on out there. The memory usage seems pretty much normal (at 300-500MB), but the CPU shows to be constantly at 95-99%.Is this normal? My PC details:ASUS A7N8X deluxeAMD Athlon XP2700+ATI Radeon 98001GB 400Mhz 3200 memoryThanksDom

Hi guysI'm not a techie when it comes to these things, and it's time to upgrade my Dell Dimension 8300 because I'm dissapointed with the frame rates I'm getting from my 18 month-old system. In the PMDG 737 with some AS weather dialled in it starts to struggle a bit. Here are the stats - 3.0 Pentium 4, 1GB of DDR RAM, 128 MB Radeon 9800 Pro, I'd like to put in a Radeon X800XT to make it fly. Perhaps someone with a bit of know how with Dell systems can tell me if it'd be a simple old-one-out-new-one-in jobby? Thanks guysRD

The Ultimate FS2004 PC - if it doesn't exist, do we have to invent it?? I have built PCs before on the odd occasion, but not sure whether I wouldn't rather buy a ready-made one when we are talking about such expensive, top-of-the-range items. Matching the components is one hell of a headache. Whatever....Reading posts in this forum, I've come across some pretty sad messages from people who must have spent thousands on their 'ultimate gaming PC' only to find that although it eats Doom3 for breakfast, it doesn't actually play FS9/FS9.1 all that well. My heart goes out to them! So, does anyone have the receipe for (or even, just plain 'have') what they might describe as the …

HiI installed a sound card to relieve my mobo of having to process sound.I have got a few extra fps, but the ground textures stutter unbearably.I have disabled mb sound processing in the bios and downloaded the latest drivers for my Gainward Sound Card. When taking of from bumpy airfields, the sim freezes when the tyre screech sound tries to play. Also strangely, when in flight with the stutter occuring, I can hit the alt button to bring up the toolbar, and when I return to flight the stutter has gone until I switch views. So I am now confussed as to whether this is a soundcard issue or not?Any ideas would be appreciated.RegardsGraeme

Hi everyone, I've been using Fs9 for months without any problems, but lately I'm experiencing a lot of crashes and the error message I get refers to a conflit caused bt the video driver installed.I tried dozens of older driver with no luck. I notice however that the crashes occur when panning around in 2d panel. This happens with the pmdg and ready for pushback, the only planes I actually fly. Here are some system specs if it can help:AMD Athlon XP 2000Asus X series MBG-Force 5600 ultra (7090 driver)(not overclocked)768MB DDR 333mhz Windows XP SP2FS9 (Italian)Thanks in advance,Dave

After promising myself that I would never again re-install older video drivers just because someone on a forum claimed they were better, I read a recommendation on this forum. I'm paraphrasing: "The last drivers Nvidia made that did not stutter on a GF4 Ti4xxx were the 56.72 drivers.."I thought "what the heck", downloaded the 56.72 drivers for my Ti4200-128... Bingo! My stuttering disappeared.Visually, I actually liked my standard 61.76 drivers, but the 56.72 drivers seem to be less "jumpy" and handle a larger variety of situations without stuttering!I had been setting the fps limiter to 25 in an effort to get a smoother flight, especially around airports and on the grou…

Hello! My current system: Asus A7N8X2 mobo; AMD XP 2800; 1 GB RAM (Corsair); ATI 9700 Pro; running FS9 on WinXP Pro with FSautoStart. This produces poor performance, even in window mode - stuttering frame rates, stammering on ATC at times, poor autogen refresh rates bad jaggy graphics. I've tried all the tweaks and conclude that AMD, XP Pro, and ATI don't get on..So I plan to build a new machine mainly for FS9. I've had little luck with ATI products so this time I'm probably going to Nvidia. Can anyone advise which of these will produce the best overall performance, and secondly the best value performance. Speed and graphics quality are equally important.1.Nvidia 6800 GT o…

Hey Guys,My old monitor is dying and I want to purchase an LCD. Are the refresh rates fast enough yet to justify a LCD over a CRT? If so, what specs should I look for when purchasing? Thanks for the help.Dave

Hi All!Okay, I've got another silly question. I'm still using the old driver for my ATI X800 pro. It's version 4.8. When I updated this driver, it gave me a new ATI control panel but I can't seem to change any settings like Anti Aliasing or Anisotropic filter. Right now I run mine at 6X and 16X with full traffic, real weather and max detail on everything including clouds. I get great frames at airports with it dipping to about 15fps. Once up in the air, it can go as high as 120fps, depending on the weather. The question is should I change drivers and why can't I change the settings after I change. It seam that all they've done is reworked the control center to add…
