ATI just sent me a new 9800 Pro to replace my old one that stopped working. I installed the new one, booted in safe mode, and unistalled all the drivers per the instructions of Driver Cleaner 2. Upon reboot in normal mode, the computer freezes on the Windows logo screen. I have Win 2000, AMD 64 3200+ on an Asus K8V deluxe, 1024 m DDR RAM.Any ideas?

I'm really enjoying the PMDG 737NG. My vid card allows me to connect two monitors. I have an extra monitor just sitting around. I understand that I can put windows like the overhead, throttles, etc. on the extra monitor. I need suggestions on software to use; what works for you, any problems that I may run into, etc. Thanks much for all suggestions.

im noticng that the controls in many sims are mediocre at best. you end up having to fly all over the keyboard trying to hit all the controls, causing very wreckless progress. what if someone where to make these sims compatable with different types of game controllers like xbox modded controllers, "jet fighter" handles, and many other pads on the market?

January 2006 do you think we would have hit the 4 gig barrier?

I have XP Home, and it works great. But, I cannot boot into Safe Mode. Instead Control F8 gives me a screen that offers three other options...booting to my HD, my Zip Iomega Drive or my CD Drive. Any ideas from anyone on this? thanks.Sherm

Hi I just got the ati radeon 9800 all in wonder pro. When I load fs9, after a few seconds, it locks up my computer and I have to re-boot. When I re-install my old card that came with the computer, fs9 works fine. I recently installed service pack 2 for XP. I'm running AMD Athlon 3000+. Anyone else experience these problems with this card? I also installed the most recent drivers from ATI, but that didn't help. Thanks.

Hello,I want to buy a new PC and ordered it with a P4 3,4 GHZ soket 775 and an PCI-express mainboard P5AD2 Premium from Asus. Because I need 4 monitors, it must have 1 PCIex16 Videocard GF6600GT and another normal PCI-Videocard FX 5200 with connector for 2 monitors. After assembling of the components and testing the computer shop called me and said that the second video-card dosen't work because of a bus mastering problem, that occurs with the PCIe bus and the old PCI bus. In general it wouldn't work with PCIe-boards. Now I have to take an old AGP/PCI board to get the 4 montiors working. Is anybody using a PCIe board and videocard with an additional old PCI video card? Any…

After looking at some flat screen TFT displays my impression is that the only significant advantage for these screens are that they are smaller and consumes less power. But the picture quality is not significantly better than a CRT. And then I also mean when reading text.Do you agree? Opinions from owners of both TFT and CRT owners wanted? What would you choose (I assume 19" TFT is to be compared with 21" CRT)A 19" fast TFT orA 21" CRTI have seen this at the same price.

I've got an Nvidia GeForce 6800GT (256mb) and I'm having a new problem with dual displays. I hooked up a second monitor to it the other day and tried to park a set of gauges on monitor #2 while using the primary for the VC view. When I do that, the secondary screen display gets corrupted; it's almost as if the horizontal image is separated by scan line, with half of them being placed next to the other half horizontally. The end result is that the gauge is not very readable and totally un-clickable. I'd post a screenshot but to my disgust when I tried printscreen to capture it, the resulting image was corrected and looked fine. Does anyone know if this problem can be worke…

Well just as I've finally found a good plane (DF 727) with which to use FS2K4, now I've discovered a problem. For some reason, in the middle of a flight, not just while I'm using the new 727 plane, but for any plane, for some reason during the middle of a flight, without warning, my computer screen will just go blank, and my computer will restart iteself. I noticed this happen a few times before I purchased the DF 727, so I know its not the new software. When it happened before, I just figured the little bug would go away when I restored my computer, and reloaded all my stuff. But apparantly not.I am running Windows XP Home Edition. The computer restart problem only occurs …

I bought this system to use in college. I am 53 and was into Flight Sim many years ago. This system was never intended to be a gamimg system. I know Flight Sim is not a game but to run it with all things on max you need a so called gaming system. The FS 2004 bug bit and I am now flying again. Like most on here I started wanting and needing higher frame rates. The sim is great if you have the machine to run it in all it's glory. I have read a lot of post on here about frame rates, memory, and so on. My system is a 3 Ghz Intel mobo with 1 mb level 2 cache. I have 512 mb ddr ram. My video card is an ATI 300 128mb PCI Express. I was confused after reading so much on here abou…

Hi!After my CH-Yoke (the USB-version) started pulling to the left (which couldn't be corrected by calibrating), I decided to open it to see if I could do anything about it. Everything seemed to be in place, nothing seemed broken and so I put it together again. After that, the X-axis (left/right direction) somehow worked fine again, but the Y-axis (back & forth) didn't work at all...Has anybody here experience in repairing CH-Yokes and could give me some advice?regards,Japhy

I'm trying to take apart my CH Yoke USB. I am finding 6 screws, 4 along the bottom front edge and 2 along the back edge. After thoroughly loosening (I think) the top and bottom don't seem to want to separate. Am I missing some screws, like under pads? I don't need to doink off any plastic clips, if there are any. Also, has anyone experimented with either removing or putting in weaker springs to more closely imitate the detentless (?) yoke on a real airplane? Thanks for any help.Craig R

I'm tryinging to cool my system and i need to have a # to compare what i have achieved to see if it made a difference. If you give me idle times there will be alot of factors to look at so i'm pretty sure they will vary from one system to another.Anyway what would be a comfortable temperature for fs9?

Hi everyoneI thing that FS9 behaves strangely on my PC.When I fly fast over big areas of mountains I have good fps (around 25) but usually my pc doesn't load the detailed textures and elevation and if i fly over a small city i usually don't get to see nothing more than a grey stain (no roads or buildings are being loaded on time).I don't thing it's because of my HD and if my 3D card is not good enough then why don't I have low FPS???????What's the problem? The display settings are full with 1024*768*32 and traffic 50%. My PC is:Athlon xp 2600+,MB:Asus A7N8X Deluxe, 1GB PC3200 Ram, HD:Maxtor SATA 120GB, Ati radeon 9600 Pro (gigabyte)4.12 catalyst.I would be interested if th…

This is so maddening! Almost every time I load up FS2004, a little while into it, my computer just restarts out of nowhere, as if someone pushed the restart button. No warning messages, nothing. I heard its some kind of variation of the Blue Screen. Win XP just restarts instead of displaying the Blue Screen. Others have said that it's a heat issue but I highly doubt its that. Ive had this computer for a while and it hasnt been doing this until recently. No hardware changes. Anyone what what might be causing this and how to stop it?

Gentlemen,Due to a failing cooling fan bearing on my old video card, I recently replaced it with an ATI Wonder 9800 Pro. It works well but I get a couple of clickers while in FS2004 menus such as selecting weather or flights. Is there a setting that cures this? FS2004 otherwise seems to run OK. Also, what card settings will help me optimize this card for FS2004?Thanks,
