Hi, I have 3 Samsung Syncmaster Flat panel LCD/TFT 213T's. They usually operate at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 and are very sharp monitors. They are run presently from a Parhelia 256Mb Card with one digital and two analog outputs. This, of course, is in surround mode for using FS 2004. My problem is I don't get the quality of picture I'd like. The image is only 3840 x 1024 wide when I should really be getting 4800 x 1200. In general the picture quality is rather fuzzy. Running FS over 3 screens is wild and doing wargaming the same way is also very cool. However, I think I can do better for this system and was wondering here if anybody could recommend a graphics card which…

Hello and can anybody help me please?I have just assembled a new Athlon 64 3200+ running XP SP2 and a pci express ATI X600 Pro video card. When fs9 or cfs 2 start up (after selecting your flight) ie when it positions you on the runway, either fs9 crashes or the whole computer reboots itself. I have found that if I turn off hardware acceleration on the display adapter that this doesnt happen. I have the latest ATI drivers and Direct X 9.0c I don't know what to do next. The rest of the computer seems to run fine, however windows media player 9 has also crashed the computer twice, but not everytime.Any help would be appreciated thankyouGlennWellington, NZAMD 64 3200+GA K8NF-…

I went to COMPUSA today and looked at 30 to 40 LCD and CRT monitors from 17" to 23" in size. The CRTs was boring run-of-the-mill stuff, and the LCDs mostly unappealing, some real cheap others really costly The 21" ViewSonic LCD was fairly huge, but totally uninspiring in image and a let down to me. The Samsung 19" had the best definition. But all the LCD monitors without exception looked DULL in terms of screen display. Oh, sorry, the HP Pavilion LCDs were good, nearly forgot those. On turning around to leave in disappointment, suddenly I saw this SONY LCD. It blew me away. It was like a jewel, crystal clear, as clear as my 21" CRT Trinitron and glossy as anything. …

I have read some post on the forum saying that the new AMD 64bit processer will give a big increase in fps, so I decided to have a try, I bought a AMD 64bit 3000+ 90nm Winchester core with a abit AV8 mobo to replace the P4 2.4c system, the RAM I use are 2 256mb corsair XMS3200LL running at dual mode. After spending a few days on some hardware forum and finally I got the new system running stable at around 2200MHZ which should be equivalent to the 3500+, it can finish the 1M task in superPI for 38s, a reasonable result. But after all the effort I put on it, when it comes to FS2004, the fps doesnt seem to have an increase at all, and in fact I found it even slower than the I…

Seeing every now & then my PC just freeze up. Not just when I am in FS9 so I think it's not really related. Can find no pattern... good for several days then wham I get hit several times in a row.CPU & MB temperatures look good... have something like 8 fans in the boxUsing an Antec 480 power supplyHave 6 WD hard disk loaded, 2 CD players, so it is maxed that way.Symptoms:A) I can hear a clicking noise coming from one of the harddisks before it freezes, but not always.:( Once when touched/jiggled slightly one of the 12vdc connections to the back of one of the harddisk I heard the clicking and all froze up.My thoughts are it's either 1.a hard disk going bad2.a 12vdc…

Okay guys here's the scenerio. I have two monitors and soon a third one. Now, my desired screen setup is to have the pilot view on the main monitor and an outside view of the plane and possibly it's surroundings on the other monitor. On certain occasions I would like to click open a split screen to bring up any vital instrument needed when flying; thus still maintaining the outside view of the plane.I keep hearing about frame rates with this sort of setup. So my main question what kind of setup do I need to achieve this type of scenerio?

Just upgraded to AMD64 3500 Winchester, Gigabyte GA-K8NSNXP-939 mobo,X800xt PE, 1G pc400 ram. FS9 runs as smooth as silk so anyone thinking down these lines, all I can say is, go for it. Only problem is my registered ver. of FSUIPC does'nt seem to recognise it. Trying to set the throttle up, but nothing happens. Any ideas much appreciated, thanks.Russell,

Ok, so my LCD came last night that I had posted about a couple days ago...I got home late last night and messed with it until about 3am :-lol Anyway, FS looks absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I have got my LCD set as my primary monitor through the DVI connection on my Radeon 9800 Pro and my CRT set as the secondary monitor on the analog connection with the option of "extend desktop to this monitor" enabled. I am able to drag windows from the LCD over to the CRT, BUT, only while working in XP. I start FS up and I want to drag panel windows over to it but I am unable to, they just stop at the edge of the screen on the LCD and I am unable to move them to the CRT. I have tried this i…

A few years ago, a few months befor my FS passion fired up in 2002 or 2001, i purchased a MS Sidewinder from walmart. Played it with a game or 2, then returned it. When my FS passion came about, i purchased something called a Thrustmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Joystick from compusa. Now on my 2nd one, and the 2nd isnt even a year of age, i need a new one. These are good joysticks when new, but they seem to go down hill.. This went down pretty fast. I am now looking at new joysticks, and would like another sidewinder. Cant find them any where. Did MS stop production? What other joysticks are really good for fs?Thanks alot!

Anybody know of a mini style twist axis joystick that I could use for FS2004? I really like the gamepads, except for being able to map the throttle correctly sice the right joystick on the gamepad is center based (center would be half throttle). Thanks!Barry

I am so jazzed right now I can hardly type. I share this tale in the hopes someone else will benefit. I spent not less than 8 hours over the past few days troubleshooting and trying to save my total installation after having a hang during re-boot necessitating a reset button press, followed by a most ominous message that a certain file was missing or corrupt, ie, you won't be booting to Windows without an Emergency Recovery Disk. Fortunately I had one, and after successfully rebooting to the desktop, I began the lengthy process of reinstalling all 48 critical updates, SP4, etc. This was a serious crash as you can see. So, after reinstalling DirectX 9.0c, rebuilding f…

I've been trying without complete success to use one of my levers on my CH yoke as an airbrake lever - with FSUIPC the spoilers don't quite close all the way, and without FSUIPC the spoilers are either on or off, and they don't retract either. If anyone has any suggestions for that please say, but I've given up on that one for the time being.I would like to use one of them for reverse thrust but can't work out how to do this, could someone help? Thanks very much! :)Jonathan

I just purchased a new top of the line ABS computer to use in my work (photography and video) and will probably install Flight Sim 2004 on it also. On all of my other computers I have had the hard drive partitioned into 3-4 differant sections. This new computer has a TWO- DUEL 120 GB, zero configed harddrives. ( It also has the new two video cards setup). I've heard that flight sim runs smoother if you COMPRESS FS2004. Can you compress Fs2004 if the harddrive in ONE big 240 GB drive ? I DE-frag alot after working with my photography so would I be better off with ONE 240 GB drive or break it up into 2-4 smaller drives? Your opions PLEASE. Thanksjerrycwo4
