Hopefully someone can help me here.I have lost all ability to modify the "Display Settings" from inside FS9. i cant move any of the sliders. they are greyed out. My frames have gone from 35fps to 3-19 frames depending on where I am and what scenery is in use. I have tried to correct this today by uninstalling FS and then installing it again with no joy. It is very frustrating. Hey all, been wanting to upgrade my GeForce 5500 graphics card and saw a deal at Best Buy that seems to have turned out well. It isn't the ultimate I wanted but fit within my price and got me my son's birthday present as well. The are selling a GeForce 6600 256 AGP card for $199. This seems a bit expensive by itself but they throw in a computer game of your choice (up to $49.95) for free. Got the kid the game and have a very good stable card for my growing system. I'd been aiming for the 6600GT but the cheapest I could find it without a rebate hassle was around $170. I immediately saw a frame rate increase of about 30% and am able to enable anti-aliasing. I right now have and A64 FX55, 1GB RAM, 6800 Ultra, and a 200GB 7200 rpm hard drive and was considering buying all Mega Sceneries that are available. Would upgrading to 2GB RAM make a big improvement in the loading of the Mega Sceneries? If flying into an area that is Mega Scenery is there a load time once you hit the boundaries of that area and if so would 2GB RAM get rid of it?

Hi Guys,I have a quick question that I hope somebody can help me with.My current system has an 80gb ATA133 (UDMA6) hard drive partitioned into C and D. FS9 resides on the D partition alone whilst Win XP and the swapfile reside on C.I recently found an older hard drive (ATA66, UDMA3) that I was thinking of using as a seperate drive on the secondary IDE channel just to put the swapfile on.Will this be any better than leaving it on the faster C drive or will the slower performance of the second drive cause me problems?Advice appreciated...Thanks,Glenn

I commonly see this as a recommended solution for improving FS performance. I need to try something different to improve my performance. I'm only getting 8-9 FPS at Simflyer's EWR with modest display settings.How would I go about creating a separate partition and would I have to completely re-install FS? Hello,Wherever I have addon scenery installed I have an odd frame rate problem. It stays at 25 (which it's locked at) except about every 20 seconds it goes down as low as 9 for about 10 seconds before leaping back up to 25. This happens whether I'm taxying, flying or staying completely still.Here are my computer specs:AMD 64 3000+1 GB RAM (newly updated)64 MB Radeon 960040GB HDIf someone has any ideas as to what's causing this I'd be very grateful - I doubled my RAM today and it had little impact.Thanks!

Hi all! I'm wandering. Would someone know the maximum USB joysticks FS would accept simultaneously. I know for shure it will accept at least 2. I know that because I have plugged the 2 I have, 1 Sidewinder Precison2 and 1 Saitek Cyborg 3d and I can assign any button and/or axis of both of them to perform whatever function I choose to and it works.For example I can assign the Saitek's throttle to operate Engine #1 and Sidewinder's throttle to control #2. But I could have chosen Sidewinder's rudder, aileron or elevator axis as well to perform the latter or control the mixture or the prop. I'm thinking about upgrading my current P4 3.0E GHZ and an ECS PT800CE-A Mobo to an AMD A64 3500+ Venice and an ASUS A8V Deluxe Mobo. I have an ATI X800Pro 256Mb AGP and 1Gb of PC3200 that I will use if I upgrade. My question is will I notice a big difference? In heavy traffic and large airports I get about 15-20 fps everywhere else its around 35+. My settings are close to max on some but then midway on others. I also have a Sony 17" flat panel running at 1280x1024. Ben

Hi to all:I was wondering if any one here can help me out with this.I have a CH yoke and pedal with a game pad port, I upgraded my PC to a system that my sound card in on the mother board, so no more game port. I baught a game port converter to USB "ROCKFIRE" with 4 different mode , and one of them is suppose to be for the CH yoke.Now when I try to use it, it recognise it but all the bouttons are in conflict, and at the end I have like 2 bouttons working.Any help what can I do to fixe it, or that's mean I have to put my yoke and pedals away.Any help will be much appreciatedThanks in advanceWalouigi

Hello everybody.It's very likely that you will think me a complete idiot (and to some degree I probably am).I have invested my money in a major hardware update. In fact I have turned my complete pc upside down and have thrown everything out.One of the upgrades was my graphic card. I changed my older ATI 9800pro for a brandnew MSI NX6800 Ultra (256Mb).But I'm not quite happy with that change and I'm wondering if a new X800 (or X850) by ATI wouldn't have been a better choice.
