I can ping my flight simulator computer, but I can't find the flight sim computer by name.I have tried doing a ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /registerdns, but this didn't seem to make any difference.I can find the flight sim computer from other computers on the network, just not this one.I read somewhere that a virus might cause this problem. NOD32 detected a harmful file and quarentined it. But now I can't find any computer on the network, and no other computer can see this computer.Any ideas?

I need some help/advice. I read somewhere a while back how some use two computers to run FS9. One for FS9 itself and another for 3rd party add-ons (e.g., Active Sky, AISmooth). Well, I have my PC and a laptop, both pretty good quality. OK, so how does this work? Does it work? Does it help? Any suggestions or link would be just great.Also, I saw Jim typed somewhere that when installing a new video card one needs to delete the config file. If I delete it, is it recreated automatically? Im having a problem with the throttle of my saitek X45 joystick.When I start up my PC the thottle works fine but soon after I start a flight in FS 9.1 it stops working properly and only registers up to a maximum of about 75-90%. It works perfectly well below that range but it will not go above it.It also slightly effects the rudder, limiting its range.I can fix this by unplugging the USB connection and plugging it straight back in, the throttle then works over the full range again - but I cant do this when in the middle of a game because I would have to restart FS. and it happens every 10 seconds anyway.I have the latest drivers installed and Im using the saitek control p…

In an attempt to better my flightsim experience, I recently upgraded from an ATI 9700 PRO to the X800XL.The frame rates have improved but I feel the display of textures did not. When turning the aircraft the ground textures become jagged and the jagged textures move. Hello all: Just to ask a simple question, I have one server and 1 client pc. On the server I had installed an XFX-6800GT-256 wich have two vga outputs. A 19" viewsonic in one output and a TFT 17" 710n Samsung on 2nd output. Both setted up in the system in 1280x1024-32. All in dual view desk mode.When I load FS, I usually undock and drag the instrument panel to the second monitor. FS doesnt change the resolution in the main 19" monitor, but in the undocked panel, it always changes the the second monitor resolution to 1024/768. This change happend when I restore the 3D acceleration (alt+enter) after undocking and dragging the instrument panels to it. Does anybody knows why …

I have been reading about updating drivers for Bios and changing the information in the Bios. I am really considering doing this to try and pick up some performance in my computer. I am currently running a Gig of memory, ATI 9800 128mb video card, I am not sure what my processor is or the name of the mother board, sound blaster audigy sound card. That is about the most I can tell you. I usually clean up all my old files and defrag the hard drive about every two weeks. Ever since I bought my new rig this spring I've had constant problems with the graphics in MSFS. Usually I have nice grahpics immediately after installing MSFS2k4 but then all the sudden, WHAM!, I get the blurries and the war of the ants on the ground. It's also like AA is not doing its job. A single Western Digital 10,000 rpm SATA hard disk2. 2 Western Digital 7,200 rpm SATA disks running under RAID 0The costs are comparable... Hi,Have un installed FS2004 and my add ons also the update for fs2004 but now I can't install FS2004 again I put disk 4 in to finish it off get to about 78% and get this message.Microsoft Flight simulator 2004 encounterd a disk error while writing to the file (C:Program Files|Microsoft GamesFlight SimulatorSceneryCitiesHeathrow.cab) and just carries on with that message so I have to stop.I have done a disk defreg and also disk clean up and also tried to install it on another computer which gives the same message.Has anybody got any suggestions or would I be advised to get a new disk and see if that worksMany ThanksJason Thompson

Hello fellow pilots,This is one I haven't encountered before. Last night I was taxing the Aeroworx Kingair V2 and suddenly the Elite Throttle Quadrant quit working. That was followed by the blue screen advising windows is shutting down to protect itself and there was an "IRQL not less or ="message. I restarted windows and uninstalled/reinstalled the Throttle Quadrant and it works again. But, now the keyboard in FS9 only partially works. For example, the "alt" key works. The "shift" key doesn't. Hey everyone. Well I am back at flightsimmig again after a while. Still using the same computer though :( Although I just picked up a Radeon 9200 off of a friend. He said it was a 9600pro :roll: LOL! If I were to copy the contents of a VERY fragmented partition to another partition or drive. Quick format that partition. Then copy back the contents to the original partition.Would all the files etc......be now completely DEFRAGGED? Or does the recopying retain all the fragmentation?All thoughts are welcome.ThanksAbe

hello all! how can i setup fs9.1 (2004 with update) to use full screen at 1280x720 (for video projector)? I have winxp sp2, ati radeon 9800 pro and sanyo projector connected with dvi. I can set my windows desktop to 1280x720 just by installing the latest catalyst drivers but in flight sim options - hardware page I see only 1024x768 and 800x600 in the list. It says radeon 9800 in the graphics card list so probably the graphics card is recognized properly. Any ideas? niko

...all of this is exactly why I plan on having a simulator bay built for the express purpose of keeping things cool. In fact, Im here in my spare bedroom with just my machine running with a fan blowing on it directly w/ the side off. It still shuts down sometimes when flying in congested areas like KATL with the PMDG 737NG.
