Ok, I have finally upgraded to XP PRO form Win2000 after all these years. I am having problems with Flight Enviroments clouds now after I put on the 77.72 drivers. It's literally a slide show, and when I clear the weather all runs smooth. I've done just about all the XP tweaking stuff on this board with no luck.The only reason I have the 77.72 drivers on is because I play Battlefield 2 and it kept asking for them so I put them on. Any suggestions here?? What's everybody else using??Thanks :)

Hello all,After returning from my honeymoon, I discovered that a power surge had fried my computer's power source and motherboard. I've since upgraded to an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (socket 939), 1GB DDR RAM, with a GeForce MX4000 (128MB) vid card. I decided to install FS2004 to take advantage of my better performance.Needless to say, I was shocked to discover that my performance in FS2004 was very low...about 14-15 fps at CYYZ with no AutoGen, or AI traffic. This seems to be a problem..shouldn't my system (am using Win98SE as the OS)put out more punch than this?Any pointers or help would be appreciated.Cheers,Cale

I have previously run my old CRT monitor at 1024x768 for both the Desktop and full screen Fs2004 with no problems.I have now purchased a new 19" LCD monitor whose natural resolution is 1280x1024. The ratio of length to width is therefore different - from an old 1.33 to a new 1.25. The instructions for the monitor says that it should be run at it's native 1280x1024.I am now also running the fullscreen FS2004 at this new resolution -- but all the a/c gauges are elongated lengthwise. I can fix this by stretching ( or rather, shortening, the 2d panel -- but I can't do anything about the VC .Any ideas please??Thanks Barry

If I was to ask what you would recommwend to imrove frames what would it be, Vid card, more ram, etc. I know that it has many variables but if you had to chose one what would you do to your hardware to try and improve FPS.Im asking because Im trying to decide what to upgrade for better FPS but I have a certain budget, thats why im wondering what one hardware you would chose to upgrade to improve FPS.Thanks

I have fs9 installed, given firewalls authorizations for fs9 and sb3, tried "20.000 times" to connect mp with sb3 and ....I still can't connect my fs9 with sb3 session, not automatically , not manually. Guys, I just bought a new X850XT PE nice boost from 9800 non-pro. However, I am getting the same FPS I was getting with my old card. This is what is weird.....when I set the FPS slider to 20 or 25, my FPS register at 12 or below and intermittently fluctuates to 18 for a split second. Flying is not bad, but not fluid, and luckily I do not experience any stutter.Now if I increase the FPS slider to 40 or 50 the FPS will increase to about 18, and if I go to unlimited it locks at 23....and jumps intermittently to 66. I'm looking at the Sony 20.1 inch LCD Monitor. It has a response time of 25ms. Is this sufficent for FS2004? FS is the only game I play on the PC. Currently using a ATI Radeon 9700 PRO.Thanks

Hi all, can anyone explane why I get ATC all of a sudden start to stutter when I first start my sim with this new drivers? It only happens in the begining and then its all good. The older 67 series drivers did not do that. I have swaped back and forth between the 77.72 and the older drivers and it only happens when I use the 77.72 drivers. I have installed x64 on my new motherboard and installed several applications including FS9. However, there seems to be some confusion on the part of a couple of apps (including add-ons for FS9) with the location of FS9.There are two folders in the root directory... one named Program Files, the other Program Files (x86). MSFS2004 installed itself into the Program Files (x86) folder using its normal location of Microsoft Games etc. The registry indicates the same.At least one add-on has installed into the Program Files folder because I wasn't sharp enough to catch the lack of (x86) in the install dialog box. A few weeks ago I read in this forum that changing the 'DisableProgPCILatency' string in the registry would stop ATI cards from reverting to 255 on startup. I have a Radeon x800pro and the tweak seemed to work fine. I have recently added a second graphics card, a 64mb PCI Radeon 7000, in order to have a permanent display of the overhead in the PMDG 737, however the latency of this card also reverts to 255 on startup, I did a more thorough search of the registry for the 'DisableProgPCILatency' string and to my amazement I found around 20 instances of it in various folders, could anyone please tell me if all these should be changed from 0 to 1 in order for the latency I set…

I am having a problem with my CH Pro Pedals in FS9. I have both the yoke and the pedals and mapped them with the CH Control Manager. Basically I've left all the axis the same but mapped it for more buttons on the yoke. The problem with the pedals is the toe brakes. Everytime I start a flight the brakes are on and I can not seem to get them off. I've messed with the sensitivity and null zone some but can not seem to get the toe brakes to work correctly. If I don't use the Control Manager they seem to work ok but I really like having more buttons mapped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a puzzling problem with my CH Yoke and the prop control.I noticed that my prop control in all my piston planes wasn't responding when I moved the lever on my CH Yoke. The Mixture and throttle are fine as well as flaps, trim, views, etc. I went into assignments and checked everything out, and sure enough, the Prop control function has "Y rotation" alongside it and "X rotation" for the mixture. I deleted and reassigned the prop's function but no dice. It works fine with the keyboard assignment. I checked the calibration of the Yoke and all is well and the control is recognized. I uninstalled the nVidia drivers and installed their newest 71.xx version from their website. I am using Windows XP and every time my "other half" logs onto her session and I then log back into mine, I get a message that reads "ERROR - FS9 Flight Simulator cannot run during a remote desktop session and will now quit". After clicking the "Okay" button FS then closes itself down. I have ensured that the "pause on task switch" box is unchecked on the settings page as well.
