This is not a hardware question, but more along the lines of general FS use.I have a nice extra monitor that I was considering utilizing, but I dont understand exactly how you folks use these AND the FS9 VC? Are you placing the main panel on one and full view on the other? breaking up the panel views? ect...How are you using yours? again, I have no problems with hookup, just wondering why.

I just saw this for the first time today and nearly passed out. How would one set this up for FS9 on a normal PC? How could one know in advance of going broke on this stuff whether your PC would have enough processing and video juice to run a 3 or 4 or 5 (!) monitor set up fluidly? Do you think this would require serious PC engineering to make it work properly--is there a catch to all of this? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...uctlisting.aspxFor a different vendor, look at this stuff:http://www.digitaltigers.com/tigervista.shtmlJS

Been away for a while -- just switched out my nViaia GeForce 5600 for GeForce 6800 GT. Also ADDED 1024 meg of RAM, and I've got absolutely NO increase in frame rates. No particular problems, but nothing noticeably better -- a little surprising. Running Windows XP Home; Pent 4 2.6 gig processor. 77.77 drivers. any comments/recommendations appreciated. thanks.

Hi everyone,I got my FS2004 running just right and am very happy with it, however I have read that users of Nvidia cards should update to the 77.77 driver. Im a little afraid to do this as I dont want to do something to my card settings and make it slow down FS.Anyone have any comments on this?Should I or Shouldnt I update it?Will the performance increase at all?and exactly what's the purpose of updating a driver? Thanks

Greetings fellow pilots,I am considering purchasing a CH Flightsim Yoke (again). I bought my first one back in the mid 90's and threw it in the garbage because I couldn't get it to operate smooth enough to allow for the precision in pitch control necessary for accurate simulation. I bought my second version about five years ago and ultimately cut it up and made a throttle console out of it for the same reason. My question is regarding the "new" version. It is advertised to be without a center detent. Such a statement gives me hope. Have they finally overcome the smoothness issue in the pitch axis? Thanks,Bill Worth

It's all to do with FRAMES PER SECONDS !!My current system is P4 3.2Ghz, 2GM RAM, ATI 9800XT dual monitors. What is very frustrating with FS9 is that to be usable ( ie FPS > 20 ) or so I need to turn down many of the setting sliders to the left. What I like to be able to do is to have all the settings to max, flying in and around an add-on complex payware airport scenery, using real weather program and flying a complex jet ( like the PMDG's and the LDS) and STILL have FPS more that 20.Currently, with my system if I do the above, the flight will a more of a slide show at 8 -10 fps.my question is , if I get the fastest hardware available now ( such as AMD Athlon64 FX57, …

New Saitek Cyborg X52 installed. With aircraft lined up for takeoff - Normal or rapid opening of throttle normally causes aircraft to veer sharply to right.Almost inpossible to control swing on the ground with rudder (joystick twist control)All settings /calibration appear OK Extremely gentle opening of throttle provides some solution to the problemHelp!

I was thinking of upgrading my video card from an ATI 9800 PRO 128 to a Geforce 6800 Ultra 256. Before everyone bombards me with posts saying that it will not make any significant increase in FPS, rest assured that I am well aware of this. However, my question is will it allow me to use higher AA rates while at the same time maintaining my current FPS rate of about 20-30 FPS which is what I get with my current 9800 PRO using 6X AA. Thank you.

Anybody using this brand spanking new card with FS9 yet? I read reviews on it and its supposed to be like greased lightning but doesnt cost as much or take up as much room as a 6800 ultra. Sounds good to me, but I would like to hear a simmer's opinion on it.-Scott Armstrong

I've been surfing this forum for the last few days trying to get some answers about the poor framerates i'm getting in FS 2004. I've been flying Flight Sim's for a very long time and with every version I always have to upgrade my PC so FS would run better. My current spec's are;2500+ XP AMD w/ a Asus A7V8X mainboardRadeon 9600 Pro w/ 256mb of Ram1 GB of RamMy FS9 settings:FS9.cfg has been tweakedEverything in scenery is max'd except the water textureAircraft is set at highMy MIP is at 5 and my lighting is at 8. AA in FS9 is turned off. And I have trilinear set, global texture is max and my res is 1280x1024x32 and framerates are locked at 30.Traffic is set at 35%Weather is…

I recently purchased the CH Yoke and Rudder pedals. The yoke is working fine, but the pedals are giving me some problems with most aircraft. 1. I get a permanent 'BRAKES' message in the lower LH corner. 2. Any slight touch of the pedals immediately disengages the parking brake. 3. After landing the PMDG B747 and LDS-B767, the rudder pedal steering function seems to fail and the nosewheel and rudder go into a rapid left/right oscillation. I have tried recalibrating the pedals, but they just seem to be super sensitive which is very frustrating. Neil Bradley

I have posted this question before, however as timing is everything, as it wasn't answered the last time I ask this. So, I will try again, with a hope that someone will know exactly what I am refering to and how to fix it.I am having a challenge keeping the texture on aircrafts and buildings. When I switch views, the texture disappears? Why does this happen and how do I resolve it so it won't happen anymore? Thanks in advance,Paul

How do you like the foot pedals and yokes. I use the MS force feedback Cause I like the feel of touch down and other feels. But I'm a real pilot and have to fly different than real. Is there any feed back with Yoke or not. It would make crosswind landings easier with the yoke and pedals. thanks for your time.Scot

I have read before that there is no point in expanding the RAM over 1 Gb. But I have 1 Gb and I have experienced stutter because of harddrive access. Would not additional RAM improve on this? And if you have a lot of extra programs running at the same time as FS for example Active Sky, Traffic addons etc. Could you the not use more than 1 Gb RAM?

I have an ABIT AS8 Socket 775 Mobo http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/techsp...ies=1&model=191 with an Intel Prescott 3.6ghz chip, the stock heatsink is not doing its job and the chip is idling at 72F. I've looked at a number of diferrent heatsinks and fans but I am having the hardest time figuring which one will fit this motherboard. Any recommendations? Thanks!!!

Hi all! I just bought a new Maxtor SATA 100Gb 7200 rpm hard drive for CF9 only,How should I install it for max performance? As extra storage,or with it's own copy of Win-Xp? I have an IDE drive already installed with Win-Xp.Also as I not familiar with SATA,are there any special tip's involved? Also, do I need another licence for Win-Xp? Thank's for any help!

My workstation is showing signs of age. I am generally happy with the FS performance at this point at about 25 FPS with most slider maxed out, but I do get stutters and want to run everything just a tad more smoothly. I understand that a CPU upgrade would probably be the best thing in my case. Here are my specs:AMD 2500+ Barton1GB (2x512) PC2700 DRAM, non-dual channelRadeon 9800SE (soft-modded to 9800Pro)I am thinking about upgrading to an MSI mobo with a AMD 3500+ Newcastle. The ultimate plan would be to pair it with a 6800GT, although I have read that I should be in good shape with my current graphic board. To top the upgrade, I would love to get a 19" LCD (I currently j…
