Hi All-Wondering if anyone has had trouble with the elitle hardware. For some reason, all works well for the first 3 minutes or so, then FS just drops the elite out and the computer doesn't seem to recognize the hardware. We have the new FSUIPC and the elite driver file. Any advice?Mike

A long time ago I had a problem of seeing scenery drawn over white squares when looking out of the cockpit window. I managed to somehow get rid of this occurance but after a recent driver update the problem is back.I'm sure it is not the drivers because I have tried all the latest 5.8 drivers (and equivalents) incase this was the problem. I have not tampered with any bios settings so these should be the same as before. first question is my CH flight yoke.. l`ll be coming into landing then suddenly my aircraft would just pull up then slam me to the ground....? Is this something to do with CH?Second question has anyone come up with fixing the problem with shuttering with the scenery... l Have a 6600GT but when l get close to the airport it just shutters carn`t even see the rwy hehehehe.Also one more problem... even though flightsim has 1680 by 1050 it doesn`t change... l have a wide screen monitor... THe people who make Mega Scenery recommended that the files be placed on a second hard drive to speed up scenery loading. I got a second HD and the result is amazing. There are no more tiles that come up slowly. All Megascenery areas are in full view as I scan from virtual cockpit. Is there any way this could be applied to the default scenery setup in FS9? That is, is there a way to get the default scenery transferred to a second hard drive to speed up loading?Thanks,Bruce

I bought a K8V-X 64 bit motherboard. It has the VIA K8T800 Chipset. It's super fast, but will not run FS9. It bombs out after a few minutes with a loud noise and a message "memory dump in progress", It then freezes the entie computer.Any suggestions would be helpful..Gary

Hello,Just wanted to share my amazement about the nvidia 7800.System :P4 3,4Ghz, 1Gb Ram, 80Gb HD, Nvidia 7800 GTX 256 PCI-eTwo Dell 21" crt monitors.Since yesterday and thanks to this wonderful card I get around 70-100 fps in flight, 20-30 on ground, with a resolution of 3200*1600@85 mhz.Evry single slider in FS9 is maxed out (except 3D cloud - don't like those).Pretty cool ..Cheers

I am fairly to flight sims and have the CH controls -- yoke, pedals and pro-throttle.I really like the ATC features and auto tune but find myself having to send a number ( like 1, 2, 3 or 4) very often to the transparent ATC window that pops. I hate hunting for the keyboard right in the middle of a flight.I would like to designate some of the buttons on the yoke or throttle to send these numbers but cannot figure out how to do it since there is not a specific key assignment for this in FS2004.Can someone help? I have run out of ideas on how to deal with this on-going issue. Almost every time (almost, because it works right once-in-awhile) I fly around the Metro Detroit area I get a crash to black screen. Thought it was the add-on for KDTW, removed that, still there. Removed every other add-on for the Metro Detroit area, no change. I even changed vid cards (swithced out a 6800 Ultra for a ATI X850Pro)still blacking out. I can fly the same aircraft with the same weather during the same time of day anywhere else without this problem. HiToday I upgraded to a ATI Radeon 256mb 9600, Im very happy with it as I now get frame rates I had only dreamt about, when I fly there is no problem with shimmering or flickering terrain etc etc..however whenever I press certain keys such as ALT to gain access to the above screen menu the screen flickers for a few seconds, it also does this at the create flight screen, if I use my mouse to select any options the screen will flicker..hope Im making sence here, strange that inflight absolutely no problem (s), I figure perhaps the hard drive may be interfering with the vid card?, Im not sure, any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as yet I have'nt upgraded the dr…

I am not upgrading to spend $600 for a $40 program unless I see a significant performance gain. I am also NOT interested in tweaking my computer to death with folder compression, driver, BIOS tweaks and overclocking, because... everything else just works FINE. Or why is it that I am getting 50fps with Half-Life - a program whose texture size is significantly more diverse and detailed??I suspect that the FS engine is simply outdated, because even Half-Life or other more modern games would surely NOT run as smoothly as they do now, if they were based on an engine that is more than 4 years old. Hello:I updated last night to forceware drivers 77.77 (NVIDIA 6600GT 128MB). FS9 stopped responding. Double click exe file and NOTHING. FS9.cfg was gone from the main FS9 folder. Re installed backed up .cfg I have around and no response. Did system Restore (i am an idiot, i should have just reinstalled 77.72 drivers) and now FS9 back to normal. Any comments form anybody else on similar problems?Thanks

I noticed, when I ran the PCI Latency config tool, that the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, VGA compatible controller, was set at 255. All other settings were either 0 or 32. Should the above ATI setting be changed to 32?Thanks a lot,Howard

I recently upgraded my video drivers to Radeon's ATI Display Driver v8.162 (my video card is a 256MB PCI Express x16 ATI Radeon X850 XT PE). Ever since then FS2004 has been flakey about displaying external aircraft textures, and sometimes gauges in the VC. Sometimes the aircraft textures are visible, and sometimes they disappear entirely, leaving me with just a gray-shaded model. I'm bummed. I am interested in getting TrackIR to enhance my sim and was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the pro and standard version in flightsim. I know that Pro runs at 120 frames per second wheras the standard runs at 80 FPS. Since my flightsim only runs at around 25 FPS, is it worth it to spend $30 more for the Pro version? Is there anyone that has used both and can tell a difference?

so my computer always freezes after like an hour of playing, and many times it'll freeze at the "77%" point when loading a new flight. At first I thuoght my video card was bad, but i recently played the game on my friends super old computer, so i don't think it's thatmy computer is a 2 year old Tosiba Laptop. Now i'm thinking maybe it's overheating???any clues

when you're calibrating your stick and move the stick in a complete circle like it says to do, the crosshairs are centered but are jumping around a tiny bit. also the numbers beside each axis are different like one is 512 and the other is something else. if i play with it enough i can get them to both read the same number... 512, otherwise they're usually different. is this normal and or which is correct, both numbers different or the same? it's a saitek st290. also, when moving the stick in a circle i usually move the crosshairs so they hit all 4 sides of the square. or am i supposed to move in a circle and NOT touch the square at all? thanks, william
