Hi,I upgraded my comp to an Athlon 3500+ and Asus A8N5X board running nForce 4 chipset. My X-45 doesn't get recognized on the new system. I get the message "Unrecognized device..." after the Saitek driver prompts to plug in the stick. I tried unplugging everything, updated USB drivers, followed advice I found on the net (deleting HID in Device manager) and such to no avail. Windows XP Pro with Service pack 1 and not much else installed just yet - apart from FS9. I would appreciate any help, because I am rapidly running out of ideas what else to try. Just for the record, the stick installed flawlessly on my second comp, an 1Gb Athlon. But that's not where I want it! :)I al…

Hi guys,I want to seriously get into flight simming because its something that ive wanted to do for a long time and because I will soon start filght training. I have found that joystick simply does not work well for me and that pedals are an absolute necessity. There is no replacement for them. What would be the best choice for me? I am looking for an affordable set of pedals and a yoke, preferrably a combo. So far through my research on these forums and generally on the web it seems like the "CH Flight Sim Yoke USB & CH Pro Pedals" would be the best choice, but I read a lot of mixed views about them on this board. Do they really have so many problems? It seems like t…

Hi everybody! :-)I feel a little uncomfortable bugging you with a question on my first post in this forum. However it's important, because there is a lot of money involved. ;-)I'm looking for a new system to run FS2004. Mostly I fly airliners such as PMDG 737NG, 747, LevelD767 on high detailed airports like those by FlyTampa and the Aerosoft German Airports. Also I'd like to install an AI-traffic software on my new system. Now, I've chosen two configurations for this system, one based on an AMD CPU and another one on an Intel P4 CPU and I'm wondering which might be faster to run FS2004. Sorry if this is a duplicate post but I couldnt find exactly what I wanted to know. I am installing a Radeon X800XL and wandered which version of the drivers I should go for. My previous card was a NVidia 5200 FX and I spent plenty of time experimenting with different versions of drivers before settling on one particular version and I thought this time it would be a good idea to ask what your experiences are before installing.BTW is there anything I should bear in mind when I uninstall my NVidia drivers? I would hate to leave something behind that would interfere with my Radeon card. Many thanksAndrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

I have a DELL XPS Gen 4 system, 3.80 Ghz, 1024 RAM, Windows Home Ed. It runs FS9 incredibly well and came with an ATI RAdeon X850 XT PE card. DELL told me I cannot run this PC with two video cards simultaneously, that one card must be disabled. But the folks at the DELL forum said I can run two video cards simultaneously, so I bought a Radeon 9250 PCI 256MB card and it arrived today. I duly installed it and it worked, but it bumped off the Radeon 850 XT from the system somehow or other.I posted at DELL an hour ago but have copied the post and am pasting it here in case anybody can assist with ideas. Here goes:" Well, the instal went easy but the results were not wha…

Please can anyone help out with a default 2D panel display problem? I recently installed some 61.12 drivers for the Geforce 4 Go 460 video card in my Toshiba laptop. The quality and performance of the drivers in flightsim is very good however i noticed that *all* the default 2D panels are 'stretched' out and expanded on screen. When i go back to the default 36.38 drivers then everything is ok but fs9 graphics are not that good. So really is there a way to use the updated drivers and get the panel back to normal? I deleted the fs9.cfg file but it makes no difference. I think the drivers have been modded but why do they affect just the default panel? It's not easy to get upd…

Just picked up the NEW Nvidia Driver 77.72 for my 6800GT card. It seems quite stable and I believe that, so far, seems to be an improvement over previous drivers. I see more smoothness, and FPS seem to stay higher....longer. Only time will tell, but so far, so good. Here's the site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_77.72.html

My CH Yoke LE is showing signs of age, It has done a fair few hours, and is about four years old so I am thinking of replacing it.I like the look of the PFC Yoke (jet style) I was wondering if anyone has recently changed to one of these from a CH yoke, and what their views are on the PFC Yoke.Bearing in mind it is almost four times the cost, does it improve the feel and 'flyabilty' factor by much.Bill

Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I went on the IBM site to see if there was any info on my monitor. I saw the option for a system scan to upgrade drivers, hey what can it hurt? Got the message, must reboot, okay do it later... then I saw one of the files was a bios upgrade. Don't wanna do it, deleted it, when I rebooted it said "windows is installing software for your new hardware"... XXXX BIOS, missing. Uh-Oh... the computer boots, but no mouse. Plus an error message, PCI IRQ routing table error. The PS2 port seems to have vanished off the face of the earth, and my attempts to deal with it are severely limited by no mouse. Neither the Logitech scrol with its own setup …

Building new machine with Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-SLI and two Western Digital SATA2 WD1600JS and win xp sp2. All brand new. Here is what happens.1. Drives connected to the sata2 ports on the mb. Bios will see both drives.2. Xp install starts, and loads the sata2 drivers from floppy. Sata2 driver is from the Gigabyte CD, driver SILxxx (forget exactly).3. Driver loads, win sees the drives and I can format it.4. After formatting, win copies the install files to the drive, and then reboots.5. After rebooting, the install process should start

ATI has released their latest set of drivers (5.10) which now have full Crossfire support. I was wondering if anyone with a Crossfire hardware has tried them with FS9? Thank you.

Hi,I have just upgraded to a new PC. I am eager to re-install all my favorite addons - Activesky, LDS-767, PMDG-747 and 737, etc. - on the new PC. I wonder how is the best procedure to reinstall all the addons.I am considering to install Fs9 on the new PC, rename the directory, and then copy the Fs9 directory from the old to the new computer. Has anyone done that before? I wonder whether it works like this; probably I will have to re-install the software using, when possible, the re-install key (are the original license key files hardcoded to the hardware??.)I would appreciate if someone that has already gone through this process could share some information. Thanks in ad…

Hi,I'm currently running two monitors through an ATI 9200 (Vivo) 128MB video card (with the latest ATI drivers). Here what I have;Main Monitor - HP 9500 CRT 19" 1280x1024x32 60Hz refresh rate.Second Monitor - Viewsonic CRT 17" 1024x768x32 60Hz refresh rateI'm looking for setup suggestions that will possibly increase overall performance in FS9. Right now, I use the second monitor to view sub-panels when needed. If I leave the sub-panels up, I get a noticable performance hit. If I bring up the sub-panels only when needed, I don't.Or.....Is this just a weakness of the video card? If you feel it is the card, is upgrading to 256MB the answer, or just a better 128MB card? Thanks…

Hello, At this time I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 256mb video card. I was wanting to know if anyone out there could offer some assistance or suggestions for an upgrade. I would like to stick with NVIDIA. I have been contemplating on this card here Verto GeForce 6600GT Video Card, 8x AGP, 128MB DDR3. The only thing is it's 128MB. But I can get it for about 189.00. Would this card be sufficient for FS9 and running all the details on high with the add-ons of Ultimate Terrain, FSGenesis meshes etc.. Well just put it this way I have a but load of add-ons. Can someone educate me and push me into the right direction or wo…

Looks like a new FS built around XBOX 360 could be the end of performance issues. And with an advanced SDK for 3rd party developers that would insure compatibility, would it not be feasible to move in this direction? Are USB controller already accessible with XBOX 360 or no? It would seem there is ample horsepower to overcome performance issues anyone is currently having. I wonder if they could still have much of the breadth the 3rd party add ons now enjoy in the PC environment. I don't much care for the console concept, but I sure like the fact the gaming world has relatively inexpensive processing that is significantly ahead of anything the common gaming PC can off…

Hi folks,It's almost a year since I've bought my PC (see details below) to find out that its current performance is less than required to run FS9 on it. Problems occur everywhere: low FP rates, poor loading of PMDG, PSS and other add-on textures (!full-pack installed Concorde from "Project Concorde" has led to system crash!), impossibility to improve FS9 Display features (I stopped thinking of moving sliders to the right ever in future :(, etc.... Before you get familiar with my PC characteristics, I would like to mention that I've tweaked whatever is possible to achive some good results, as advised in a number of current forum threads - nothing seems to cause any signifi…

Hi, I was wondering what was everyones opinion on new video card to buy, I was looking at:X800 Pro9800 Pro <--- Old, but many people seem to be still very very happy with itGF6800GF6600There are so many variation that I get lost, I don't want to buy a cheep "castrated" version, but at the same time don't want to spend extra for what I do not need. This card is to be used exclusively for Flight Sim, I do not care about any other games how it performs.I would like to use at least 2xAA if not 4xAA, would like to have sliders at fair levels and be able to maintain 15FPS with some other AC moving around in an airport from World Airports collection. It can only be AGP card I d…
