GreetingsI purchased a second gig of memory after reading some posts here to use with my FSX. I'm enjoying FSX with sliders half to full and an average of 15-20 fps in most areas.My question is, why does over 1 gig of physical memory remain free throughout a flight in FSX? I put in a 2nd HD for Flight Simulator and I just put it in D:FSX folder. I wonder if I will have problems later on with addons??? IIt wanted to put it in D:/Program files/Microsoft Games/FSX. I dont't think I can just rename folder without getting into trouble. Would appreciate info on what others are doing for install on 2nd drive. My C drive already has C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Links 2002.Thanks in advanceChuck

Hi.I have just discovered FSX multiplayer and started to learn how to be a tower.When i play as a pilot on other servers, i can hear the tower and other aircraft just fine. When others talk with me (tower) on my box, there are lots of problems:If i use 1.2-2.4K then i get no quality and it is impossible to hear what people say and they have to use the chat. If i use 3.6 or 128K then i get broken up sound and i have to guess what they are saying.I am using the internal sound card that came with my new box (A 3200+ Athlon64/1GB with only 1 year on its neck) and previously i have used other voice communications software (Teamspeak) with the firewall i use without any problem…

I have a fairly good system : Pentium 4-3.87 gigahertz with 2Gigs of Ram. It's been running great for over a year even when it heats up, as all high-end Pentium4's do.Today I experienced something worse. I was rendering some video, which I have done in the past many times with no problem, when my machine shut off. I did that several times with the same result.Any help? I know it is a 'HEAT' problem. I even had a fan run full blast on an opened side of my computer case - no help - it crashed.Appreciate any input.Thanks.AbeBy the way, I took my project to my other less powerful machine, and everything went just great.

I have an ATI 1600 pro card and also had an ATI 1300 one which had similiar problems. When i turn on bloom 90% of the time, i get a white line going up on the right side of the page and a white line on the bottom of the page. Anyone have ideas? it's drivng me upa tree!

I have a second monitor from main pc. I drag the panel to the 2nd monitor and save the flight and settings. When I load this saved file the panel is back on the main monitor. I was able to do this in FS9. Can this be done here? My video card is Nvidia 7950GT with 512 ram. The computer is a duelcore with 2 gigs of ram.Hope someone can help.Thanks,Gerry

HI, I've been trying to get TrackIR to work on my system. Naturalpoint support tech Vincent Grindel has been working hard on my case and I appreciate it. After looking at several things, this was his latest recommendation:

I am reposting this as I still have this particular issue with no resolution in site.I am running a 1950x ati card ( not in crosfire mode) and I cannot pan left or right in 3d ( vc mode)I can look right and left in 2 d but once I go to vc I try to look right and left and the view just wont go. It kind of looks like it is hitting some sort of limit.I can however go up and down , in other words the vertical is ok, just no horizontal.I tried this in both fsx and fs9.1 with the same result. so I think it must be the ati card software. If anyone has any experience in this area , some advice would be appreciatedThank you peter

Looking for a new monitor I wonder if should go for a widescreen monitor or a normal ! Is FsX made with the widescreen users in mind or will any random circle be pulled and squeezed to a ugly oval in 2D because it is still the 4:3 format that rules in fs ??Jesper.

In most 3D applications (...ok, you got me, silly violent games), my primary display shows the action while the secondary doesn't change, so it shows the windows background, IM chats or whatever. However, in Flight Sim running on full screen, it takes over this monitor and displays a blank black screen full of nothing. I can drag panels over no problem and it seems to work great as a second FS display. The question is, how do I get FS to ignore it? How do I get my Windows background / IM chat / etc back?The reason I ask is that I want FS Earth to run on the secondary monitor but this (including its always on top option) only works with FS running in a Window which, even i…

Is there anyway to stop track IR from panning in the 2D pit? I think it's a FSX change and not a TIR change.

I have had my Track IR unit for a couple of years now and have it with the vector expansion..... have been very happy with the unit.. I saw one of the new track IR 4 units at the IFC conference in Birmingham and the guy there said it was an improvement on the 3 version.... would love to know if anyone has made a comparison or upgraded themselves.....
