Would someone with an Ati 3870 test something for me. Try FSX in the windowed mode and set fps to fixed 30. Check the core clocks. Then check clocks in unlimited fps. I have been having all kinds of problems with the 2D and 3D clocks switching back and forth. If I lock the fps on 30 and run in windowed mode (I run FSC on 2nd monitor)the 3d clocks never kick in. They stay at 300 core. If I set frames to unlimited - they still switch back and forth between 2d and 3d which cause massive blurries and studders. Ati says this is a problem in my system. I borrowed a friends Nvidia 8800 gts and clocks worked 3d in both windowed and fullscreen. I even have problems with FS9 runnin…

Hi there! I'm new to the site, and glad to be part of the community! I fly fs2004 with several add-ons, but I was not able to figure out of there's any way to use my two displays for the cockpit. I don't mean one cockpit view, and some instruments on the other, but using both displays for thee really co cockpit, or virtual cockpit. I'd like to have this: I think it would bol with track IR :) Please don't tell me that I should buy the Triplehead2go from Matrox, I have only 2 displays, and probably it will not change in the future due to room limitations Smiley Any help would be highly appreciated, I'm really frustrated that I couldn't find out how to do this :) Greetings…

I am looking at buying an AGP version of this card. It is one bulky piece of hardware for sure.Question is : would anybody know whether the size (read: length) is the same with all manufacturers ? I am fairly sure I would need to move my hard drives to accomodate this monster. But it would help if I knew that eg. the HSI version is shorter than the Sapphire version.I would settle for any flavour as they are getting hard to get (except on eBay) :-)Thanks

Hi all,I have been considering getting this, but I've read a lot of negative comments about "phantom keys".Not sure if the bugs have been worked out yet, Saitek site doesnt offer much info unless you register.Do you have opinions for or against this unit?I have their petals and X45 that I am happy with.

  5. After using Raid-0 for the past few years, I've decided that these WD Raptors are fast enough without the Raid-0. After undoing the raid-0 on my Asus P5B-D I continued to use the SATA drives (un-raided) using "Raid" setting in the BIOS setup. The Raptors obviously show up as unused Raid drives in the Intel Matrix Storage utility and seem to boot and work fine as is.The question is, should I now choose "AHCI" for these drives in the BIOS instead? Are the drives then configured normally under the Windows Device Manager instead of the Intel Matix utility? Thanks for any advice as I am unfamiliar with AHCI...

  7. Jim, I think I have just found the correct monitor for me to use in my new 3 monitor system. It is just slightly "slower" than the 2ms one I've been pushing for. It's the SAMSUNG 204B 20" monitor: Display Screen Size 20.1" Resolution 1600 x 1200 (This should be a 4:3 RATIO for ROUND gauges in the 2D mode)Brightness 300 cd/m

I Installed FSX SP2 without a hitch, but now none of my GoFlight modules will communicate with FSX, even though I see the software prompt when FSX starts and they do come on when it loads. Any ideas? Is this a SimConnect issue? Do I need to run the repair utility from the FSX CD?Thanks In Advance,http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

I left my computer on all night to defrag-came in and there is a thin black line about 1 pixel wide going across the screen exactly in the middle. I thought it might be the drivers and reinstalled them but that did nothing. Then I turned the monitor on with the computer off and noticed the line in the "no signal" prompt. Is this a sign my monitor died, is the cable bad, or is there some other solution someone knows of?Thanks!http://www.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php/1b5baf...b9f427f694g.jpgMy blog:http://geofageofa.spaces.live.com/

I've seen quite a few benchmarks for FSX related to graphics cards, such as this one:http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_200...=1057&chart=293The few CPU benchmarks I've been able to find for FSX seem to indicate that it might not be as CPU bound as I thought:http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2158632,00.aspI currently have a P4 3.6 ghz - a fast clock speed, but an older single core (HT) processor. Trying to determine just how much of a benefit moving to a newer multi-core proc would provide. Does anyone know of any good FSX CPU benchmarks, or anything that can quantify the impact of upgrading a CPU? Thanks!

Hi there,I'm wondering if someone is using these two devices together? I'd be glad to hear some real world experiences, as I don't trust any reviews :) So I'd be interested to hear if it's any good together. I know Track IR is cool, I use it too, but I'm curious about the glasses....especially for virtual cockpits, and let's say on dual monitor setup if anyAny sharing would be appreciated ;)Greetings, neuwww.deploymentproductions.com

I'm currently running a Dell XPS with a Pentium 4 at 3.8 GHZ with 2GB of RAM and an Nvidia 6800GT card with 256MB of RAM. I'd like a few opinions on whether upgrading to an 8800GT card with 512 MB would help improve performance of FSX on my PC. I get about 15-20 fps and some stutters right now, with sliders at mid-range. Would the card help by itself, or will I have to get a new PC to really make a difference?

  21. I still am having my tearing problems on my Samsung 226BW. I've done all the possible things, I think. I'm to busy with things to keep up with all the new NVidia drivers. I just wonder if any of them yet allow you to turn on VSync. Just dying to get it smoothed out so I don't get seasick with the "waves" when I look out the window.Hope everyone gets the flight stuff they want for Christmas!Steve
