I'm thinking of this motherboard Intel 975XBX2KR Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor 2.40GHz OEM for $429USD. Choosing the motherboard has been the most difficult for me. If not this board does anyone have another suggestion for something of equal or even better, a lesser price? It's time for me to get back into FS and I want to build a system for FSX. Thanks!Cheers,Tim

I just installed the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and Throttle Quadrant Combination.Only the throttle lever works. I want the blue lever to control my prop pitch and the red lever to control my mixture. For some reason my throttle controls have stopped working. I have the CH yoke and the Saitek throttle. Everything was working great. They both can be calibrated under options. I can then assign them to the throttle but when I go to fly default c172 or any, I have no throttle. I tried to calibrate through FSUIPC and it will not register there, not even the CH yoke throttle will. I have removed FSUIPC and reinstalled it and nothing. No throttle. I unassign and reassign and make sure that there is only one assignmet for the throttle. It just won't work anymore. I really hope I don't have to re install FS9. Everything works fine in FSXHelp, I can't fly today!!!!!!!

Those of you that are succesfully using a keyboard and mouse combo with Vista 64, can you enlighten me as to what works or what is supported in the keyboard/mouse combo arena? Thanks!Sincerely,Dennis D. Does anyone know how to remove Virtual elements such as Window Frames, Glareshield & panel from 2D views LFWD & RFWD? (Somewhere in Panel Config?)All I want is the pure 2D VIEW ONLY - to display on monitors #2,3 (plus a few undocked/dragged popups).I'm pretty sure these virtual elements hurt FPS. Don't know why designers persist in this practice- if I wanted a Virtual View I would specify it!! Not only that, but when you adjust the View Angles to synch the three views, the virtual elements don't even mate with each other across the views. Makes my Christmas Pilatus not very usable with multi monitors! And it showed so much promise.Alex Reid

I have a 4y/o system now that I have been planning to upgrade mobo, cpu, gpu & ram for. OK, perhaps I should reframe this: I have a very nice set of 4 15K scsi drives and a Lian Li case I'd like to use in a new system :(). I have been patiently awaiting a Penryn CPU, probably quad core now, but after having read some stuff about the fundamental changes to architecture that Nehalem offers, I am inclined to maybe wait 08 out until the first Nehalems come along, hopefully towards the end of 08. It seems as if having an on board memory controller and the improved latency that this brings could make Nehalem a much better performer than its predecessors. I have avoided…

Hello,I'm having some issues with jagged and shimmering textures in my FS9 due to the anti-aisling problems associated with my nvidia driver. I've been reading some of the other related posts in the other forums and I am a little confused(actually a lot). I downloaded the Nhancer program and I believe I set up the new profile correctly as per instructions from the other posts. I see an improvement but I still see the jagged and shimmering textures. So my question is what are the settings supposed to be for FS9? My video card is the XFX NVidia GeForce 8600GT XXX edition, 256mb, DDR3. If you need more info about my system let me know. Also I have no clue when it comes to al…

Folks, see my system specs in the signature below.Am running FSX in DX9 mode and not DX10 preview.Have two displays; LG 22 inch and HP 19 inch.Normal applications can be taken to the HP (the second display) no problem.Start up FSX in full screen mode.FSX loads, loads scenery, etc. etc. and then goes into an "on again, off again" mode. Screen goes dark, then cockpit shows. Screen goes dark, then cockpit shows... you get the picture (or not).Am running two different resolutions; 1680 on the main display and 1280 on the secondary. All other settings in FSX remain the same for the two.Have the latest NVidia drivers (25).Any hints or help out there?

So my sig basically says my specs and what I am looking for. But I recently heard that the new 45nm Core 2 Quads are being delayed by 2 or more months, meaning a February or March or later release. I am rather impatient, having already waited 6 months for a new computer, and I'm wondering about a Q6600. It is worse than a Q9450 (8MB Cache vs. 12, 2.4 GHz vs. 2.66, 65nm vs. 45nm, 1066 MHz FSB vs. 1333 MHz) though. If I get a Q6600, I'm worried I'll be outstripped by technology in just a matter of months, but I want a computer which will give me years of smooth gaming. If I wait until the Q9450, then there'll be other new parts coming in (rumored new NVIDIA GPUs, etc.), mea…

in 2009 IBM is releasing their 300GHZ Crystal computer. I could run the next 20 Flight Sims at max settings! But there will only be another 6 or so before there can be no more improvement on graphics. How great would that be the most realistic FS experience with everything on max and 500FPS.......

After more than five years, the internal support for the bolt that one of the desktop clamps screws in to on my CHProducts Yoke failed. The net result was that I was only able to use one of the clamps to secure the yoke to my table. Needless to say, due to the looseness of the plastic bushings around the yoke's shaft, this yoke wasn't very solid to begin with and was less than adequate to use with only one desk clamp. After several failed attempts I was able to repair it and I thought I'd share my solution with you. I'm sure this will void the warranty, so I'm only telling you what I did...you are on your own and at your own risk here!THE FIX1. Remove the top cover. T…

Hi Folks:I just purchased the CH Throttle Quadrant, and was immediately very disappointed with the tiny knobs and short levers: it is just not possible to get your hands around them like you can a real life throttle. So, I set out to create longer levers and nicely shaped knobs that fit well in the palm of your hand.I'm very happy with the result. I'll let the pictures do the talking. These are made from:Lever (the part painted black) - 3/4 in. dia dowell rod; cut to 3 in. long. I cut out a slot on the bottom and they slide onto the CH TQ shaft. I installed a setscrew (tapped holes for the threads) so that the lever mounts securely to the CH TQ shaft.Knob (the part pa…

I dont see a way to assign specific engine controls for feathering and thrust reversers for the CH throttle quad's prop and throttle detents.I'd like to be able to practice my multi-engine emergency procedures but I cant readily feather without using the keyboard...defeats the purpose of developing the muscle memory and reflexive responses required for real flight(Im a GA pilot). Real twin flights are expensive ways of practicing these procedures so being able to do it in sim is much more cost effective. Is there an add-on/mod I need or something? Also, does anyone know of a well modeled Beechcraft BE-76 "Duchess" for FS9 or FSX(preferred)

I'm going out on a limb by saying this, but at least for me I HAVE CURED ALL RANDOM BUTTON PRESSES!!!I used to get them ALL the time, no matter what the sim would suddenly switch view, or drop the gear or whatever. I don't know if this'll work for you, but it cured mine 100%. (Not one random press for 2 weeks now since the fix.)Here's how I did it:First, install the drivers on the CD that came with it all. I didn't use the built in config utility it comes with. I uninstalled it but left the drivers alone. C…
