after having returned my X52 because it didn't perform smoothly i reinstalled my old stick and noticed the same problem , it was a bit jerky too.well it turned out i had changed the graphic settings and didn't noticed anything til i downloaded some weather and that was the same time i got the X52 and was putting it through a test run. after having returned it and knocked the settings back to where they were everything ran smooth soooooooooo back to best buy, got the X52 again and everything is A-OK.felt since i posted what i did about this stick a few days ago that i should also post this to let whoever needs to know that the stick DID turn out to be alright after all. i…

Is anyone willing to share their opinions on the Go Flight 737 MCP or any other Go Flight avionics. Disregard, I went ahead and purchased the student pilot system. It looks like I should be able to program all the functions I was looking for throught those two modules. Maybe some day in the future I will go for the MCP. Thanks,Scott

I have been using my Saitek yoke for a month or so, tweaking to get it working like I want. I have resisted to post becuase there has been enough issues regarding this product and I was still getting use to it. I have a CH yoke and it performs well except for some stickiness, so I bought a Saitek.Well I have some stickiness. It is when pulling and releasing slowly it sometimes sticks prior to the center. It centers perfectly for roll. Any ideas? Lubrication suggestions? I have taken it apart but can not determine where it is sticking.I also have noticed a slight out of trim condition flying the 172, it always turns to the left a little. I have calibrated it many t…

I have a fairly new system that I put together right around the time of the release of FSX. I have not been able to get SP2 to run although I have not done a clean re-install either which I am going to do tomorrow. I have also ordered 2 more GB of RAM for my system for FSX as well as other applications. I'm just wondering what others think I should be seeing. I get frames around 15-18 if I leave the frame rate limiter to unlimited. If I lock them at 30 I get around 12 fps and it dips lower in more detailed areas. I also am not able to fly any of the payware airliners without being in the single digits fps wise. Glass cockpits also hog the frames. I really thought …

I am about to install a new motherboard (GA-X38T-DQ6) which will mean a reinstall of the OS (WinXP SP2). I currently have 2 HD's (SATA) in RAID0 configuration, and which are also partitioned into several drives. My first question is about RAID0. My experiences to date, at least with FSX/FS9, are that RAID0 never improved I/O performance dramatically over the single SATA HD that I previously had. I believe that the segment size makes a difference, due to the small file size in FS. I do see better read times when loading up the OS (due to larger file sizes I expect). Having to re-install the OS obviously brings up the question "RAID0, or not RAID0", and I wonder if anyo…

I have recently wondered why some hardware developers have not made a device that contains knobs/dials etc. Something like the CH Products throttle quadrant with a few dials would be great!I know there are some folks that make MCPs and other radio stacks but they are very expensive. There would not be the need for digital readouts on the devices itself, just programable dials for radios, heading, course, altitude set etc. It would be great to get even less dependant on the ol' mouse. Also, back in the old fs 98, 2000, 2002 days there was a mini radio stack made be someone. Does anyone know if that still exists? It wasn't all that expensive compared to some of the products…

just got this stick/throttle combo today and i've got it setup pretty much the way i want as far as programming the buttons and switches but the stick itself seems to "stick" when in a pitch or a turn. it's like a rough area in its travel when you're moving it. doesn't seem to effect the sim to much but it just seems a bit odd.i mainly got it for all the programable buttons.i still have my wingman extreme 3D which i think is one of the greatest except for its lack of buttons, only has 6 or 7 but it sure feels nice and flies great.anyway i was wondering if anyone else has this saitek x52 and noticed the same thing if so maybe you can clue me in. not sure if it's just like …

Pardon me if this is old news but I see GoGamer.com has new (old Stock) Microsoft FF2 sticks in stock, these disappeared from retail shelves when MS quit making them long time ago, they used to have a MSRP of $200 in the old days...I'm a CH HOTAS fan however, myself.

I am about to upgrade my home-built PC to a GA-X38T-DG6 / Q6600 Quad Core Intel, and 2GB of DDR3 memory. I have been considering keeping my existing GPU which is an EVga 7950 GT (256MB). I run 2 monitors in WideView (extended desktop), one in 1680*1050*32 and one in 1280*1024*32. The WideView configuration is for using e-mail and work apps (closer to the keybpard), while having a widescreen monitor that is ahead of my CH yoke (almost exclusively for FSX/FS9).For FSX, my primary application on this PC, what additional performance would I gain by adding a later GPU such as one of the 8800 series?Thanks- Bruce.

I really enjoy flying around in FSX with the CH Yoke but it's severly limited in buttons so the keyboard is a must but in my situation the keyboard needs to sit off to the side where it's not convienient to push buttons unless I pause the game and turn to the right to do so.I have both a CH yoke and a USB Logitech 3d extreme joystick and Im wondering if it's possible to use both at the same time in FSX. If so, how is that accomplished? Thanks,

Are the 169.25 Vista drivers from Nvidia finally the drivers that fix the AA issues in FSX so we dont't need to use Nhancer to force AA in FSX or FS9 ?

FSX sometime runs very sluggish right from the start. When that happens, the frame rate is usually between 3 and 5, and it will usually take a cold boot to fix it. One thing though, I don't recall this was happening before SP2. Have anyone of you seen this problem? I just wondering if this is a problem with the video card or just nVidia's half finished driver.

Ive been getting mixed feeling about quad core in fsx, some people that really know computers and have worked with them all their lives tell me that using a quad core cpu will not help fsx at all. Is this true? According to phil it isnt, "Gary ( Reset MCP Alt ) at AVSim has an excellent FSX benchmark and from that has deduced some quite interesting bits about FSX perf on dual and quad cores. Basically if you dont use add-ons, a dual-core CPU is good enough. If you do use add-ons, then a quad-core CPU is likely what you want."I only use addons, I have never done a flight using a default airplane, so does that mean quad core will help me? Is it the way fsx is coded that …

I need to know how I can tell how to go about checking to see if I have a virus worm. Couple days ago I had my Kapersky down for downloading. Just as I went to put protection on, Kapersky went nuts squeling like a pig. By the time I got firewall up 17 trojans were disinfectted and terminated. Except a virus worm. after fiddling around trying to get to it 1/2 hour went by and the scan that I run after said it was deleted. Since then I'm hvg all kinds of problems. I can't even get of a runway in fs9. Buildings change shapes, shades and controls are all buggered up in my aircraft. Do I still hv this worm in there? If so,is there a way I can check?:( Tim

http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/182232.jpgIn some, not all of my aircraft, my in-cockpit 'tool tips' look like the above. I don't believe I saw this prior to installing these latest drivers for the 8800GT for XP.Any ideas?
