Hello Gang!I am running Windows Vista 64.I have installed nHancer 3 times already. Every time I boot up my machine I get this "pesky" message that states that the nHancer service was not started. If I launch nHancer manually it works fine - it's just that somewhere in the startup sequence nHancer cannot start by itself. I'm running the latest version 2.3.2. Has anyone run into this before? I'm getting impatient to set this new rig up, but a 2nd SATA drive (identical to the first) will not be here til Monday, and I have everything else to get started and it's still Saturday morning . . .If I installed XP Pro on my first new drive, can I then go back and create a Raid 0 when the new 2nd drive is installed? I plan to create two partitions in the 2-drive Raid 0 array, but not sure what happens if you start without Raid 0 then add the 2nd drive and attempt Raid 0.If this IS doable, should I leave the first drive as only ONE partition, then create a 2nd partition after the second drive is installed?Thanks for your help,Noel

was looking at this Gateway GT 5662 quad core 2.2 gig with a Radeon 2400XT and has Vista already installed. oh, 2-1/2 gigs of ram also. how well will that run FS9 at 1600x1200 resolution with slider maxed to the right? also are there ANY problems with FS9 and Vista? how well will they work together? am thinking of picking this up if it's a good buy and will run FS9 like i want it to. thanks, william

Last week I had some problems with not working Anisotropic Filtering. Luckily I could solve the problems by (once again) de- and reinstalling the drivers and (most importantly) nHancer. I found out that nHancer somehow knows how to do things right with the 169.25 drivers and AF (although I don't know what exactly I did wrong)! Greeting all. Last night I finally got around to installing the Nov 2007 DirectX update from Microsoft. In doing so it has created stutters for me in FSX that i did not have before. Is it possible to uninstall this update and if so how? I tried finding it in the add/remove programs list but it doesn't show up there. I searched all my folders but couldn't seem to locate a DirectX folder of any sorts. I am running XP and I also tried reinstalling my nVidia drivers after trunning the DX update. That didn't help any. And sadly, I did not create a restore point before doing so. Any help/advice would be appreciated. ThanksJim

Can i use a SATA HD as a normal drive or does it have to be configured for Raid 0,1 or whatever. I would like to add a HD to my system but I'm maxed on my IDE cable connections. Or the flip side question would be If I buy another EIDE HD and copy my C: onto it then use it as my C: would I have any problems. Here's the thing. I made the mistake of using a 100gig HD for my OPS and FS2004 plus a few other games. Now I'm floating around 10gig free space and I'm trying to get around having to reload everything to fix my mistake. Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks, Dan

I went ahead just to test out the new rig and installed XP on my cheetah 73gb no problem. When I go to Disk Management, it does not appear there. This debate has raged on forever, and I guessed things had improved for nV, but I must say the 8800GT I have running now with this Samsung 204B doesn't hold a candle to the ATI x1950 Pro AGP I had running in my old box in terms of image sharpness. This is not a function of the driver either--even the POST screen is far crisper than with the nV card, and this was true for the 6800GT I had that died, its replacement from BFG, a 7800GS, and now this 8800GT. I think it has improved somewhat with the 8800GT, but the prize goes to ATI for my eyes. Just in the midst of putting together a new machine, and am plagued by this innane lack of AA in FS9. This is a resinstall of FS9 in a new install of XP Pro. Latest nV drivers on board. No AA happening. I am running DX9.0c is all. Any other clues to restoring what worked wonderfully on my x1950Pro AGP? About the pull my hair between a brand new SATA drive that won't show up in XP, to now this silly issue. I know others have had this AA issue, but the nHancer fix no longer works. Hello allI just got the Saitek Yoke & Throttle Quad. Overall the product is very good -- but I have a small problem with the clamp piece for the yoke. The clamp thing is too big to fit under my desk -- as there is only about 4-5 inches between the keyboard tray and the top of the desk.Without the clamp piece -- the yoke slides around when flying...I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and if they have any suggestions.Thanks!

Did a reformat of my PC, booting in NTFS which is standard for windows based PC.Installed my drivers ect. Flight sim x is anso installed with SP1 and SP2.Story is, when i am playing flight sim for about 10-15-30 minutes, the computer just turns off. No warning, power just goes off.I can have it on for hours, so i gather it could be a USB joystick problem, ram issues or software issues. Hello Gang!I've finally gotten my new machine. I am happy because it runs FSX100% better than my old P4 1.7. The one thing I am not happy about is that I still get the infamous 7-14 fps on heavily populated airports such as KSFO, KLAX, KJFK, KDFW, etc. My machine specs are supposed to make FSX screm regardless of where you are but it does not seem to be the case for the moment. I have O&O and defrag my C drive using Complete/Name setup. both FS9 and FSX installed.Question - How often should I defrag... and is there any downside or possible damage to the drive that can occur from defragging too often (like daily?). Right now I seem to be running the defrag all the time because I am still installing stuff but once that settles down I expect to not need to as much.Mark.

AA was working after all. i was judging AA by the preview screen in FS9 and didn't see any effect of AA at all. i started the flight and went to spot view and it was working!seems it just doesn't show in the preview window. i did look at the spot view a few times but the nvidia tech guy said to turn AA on IN FS9 which i wasn't used to doing and that's why it may not have worked earlier. i haven't checked to see if it works with AA off in FS9 or not simply because i'm afraid it might not and lead to another problem so as it is now, AA on in FS9 and AA on in the 8600 card too. she's a screamer!!! new rig:athlon 64 6000 3 gig2-1024 ramnvidia 8600GT80 gig HD

I finally found out what was causing the jerky pauses with FSUIPC. My problem was trying to get the reverse thrust to work with the Saitek T Quad's. I bought an FSUIPC registration, got the reverse ok, but suffered from these pauses. My friend suggested deleting FS9 totally, defragging the system, and then load FS9 and then FSUIPC. Put in the add-ons one by one and check to see if it caused the pausing. I had everything loaded, and then set up the GO Flight configuring software. Surprise, the pauses were back. Delete the Go flight software and the pauses dissappear, Problem is, FSUIPC won't see the Go Flight modules, so I have no way to program functions into them. Anybod…

just cranked up my new machine using the nvidia 8600GT...AA does NOT work. i have it turned off in FS9 but no changes when using the control panel in the video card. also the graphics are grainy in the cockpit and the ground textures at the airport a just one flat solid color... blue. the guys at the computer store may or may not have installed the lastest drivers but i would like to think it should work with just the installation disk. i will check the driver version. william

I've searched in vain here and the nVidia website, so obviously the problem is my own, so maybe someone can offer a suggestion. I was using some older nVidia drivers in my FX5900 Ultra (256 meg) card and was getting some occasional loss of text in the overhead menu in FSX and simultaneously in the ATC window, which rendered it unreadable (blurred, colored graphics blocks in place of the text). Upgrading to the 169.21 drivers (supposed to support the FX series cards) has made the text loss "permanent".
