I have been using the Saitek Yoke & Throttle for several months with no problems....until today. All of a sudden I cannot run FSX with these devices in use. My frame rates go from 30 to 40 down to 1 & 2. Also mu CPU usage just started going from 60% to 100% with just these devices plugged in.I posted this also on the Saitek forum as it appears that others are experiencing the same problems.I hope this gets solved soon.

My previous video card was a GeForce 7200 GS 128MB with turbo-cache. I have just upgraded to a XFX GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB. The problem is that I do not really notice a difference in performance. With a screen res of 1600 x 1200 x 32, antialaising on & controlled by FS and with downloaded weather, I was down to 8-9 frames in heavy clouds. With the new card, frame rate is unchanged. Is there something I perhaps need to do ? eg. uninstall and re-install FS9.Do you get dud new cards - doubt it or ?My computer specs are:Pentium Intel Core 2 duo 1.86GHz2 GB system RAM @ 667Ge Force 8600GT 512MBAny help will be welcomeThanksTrevor

HI guy's I have jsut installed Vista on my 2 PC's which i network together for flight sim etc.Whilst i can see both the PC's in the networking i cannot get access to any of the drives. Keeps saying not accessible speak to administrator! i have taken down the fire walls (windows!) and there is very little else and no 3rd party software.I can ping both ip's an machine names with no pack loss. The network map however will only show the 1 PC in the network. I have attched a screen shot for illustration.I know it lies in the security access but cannot see both machines in the security tabs to allow access. once again illustrated.to say i am ulling my hair out is an understat…

Hello all,I'm getting really worried. Everytime I use ASUS AI Suite, I go to the AI Gear3 Option and set the "gear" to Auto. It will either freeze in the middle of setting Auto, give me a blue screen of death, or run fine for a few minutes, then give me blue screens. I don't want to ruin my fine system already. What could be the problem?I'm really desperate. Thanks,BoeingGuy

Hello Gang! From reading the forums, I get the understanding that if you have a Quad Core CPU, you can assign FSX to run on one of those CPU's, while the other CPU's handle other services and programs, hence giving FSX more dedicated power. Is that true?? If indeed it is, how do we assign specific processors to run FSX only???Here's my specs:1. Case: Thermaltake Armor Full tower (Black case), with the 25mm fan on the side.2. CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 8MB Cache3. MoBo: Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38, DDR2 1066/800/6674. CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9700 Blue LED5. Hard Drive: WD Raptor 150GB 10K rpm 16MB Serial ATA6. PSU: PCP&P Silencer 750W7. RAM: 4GB DDR2 PC6400 Dual OC…

1. When first connected (via USB) to a new computer followed by a calibration, the Saitek worked fine for a while. Then, for an unknown reason the control of FSX aircraft became erratic, e.g. aircraft running in circles when advancing throttle control, unstable control in the sky (sometimes), etc. etc.2. When the stick was first calibrated there was an instruction to 'PRESS ANY KEY' after each function was tested, i.e. x-axis, z-axis, hat switch, throttle, etc. Now, this 'PRESS ANY KEY' function does not appear during the calibration process whether accomplished while FSX is running or via the Control Panel-Game Controllers prior to starting FSX.3. If I recall correc…

Had a chance to build a QX9650 based system last week.WOW!Easy to hit 4GHz on air.333x12 = 4GHz using just 1.325v to the CPU.Idled at 37C and just 55C under full Prime95 load. Amazing CPU. Should be for the price but to see 4Ghz boot with such ease really grabbed my attention.I'm sure it would go higher, but 1.325V is well under Intel spec and 4Ghz was the goal.FSX was a dream with the CPU too :)Here's the parts used:Intel Retail QX9650 CPUThermalright Extreme 120 HeatsinkArtic Silver 5 CPU pasteAsus PK5 Deluxe MB, bios 705Corsair HX620 PSUeVGA 8800 GTS SSC Video card> If anyone wants to buy the replaced nice Q6700 let me know,it flys @ 3.2Ghz+ too! )

However its indicationg around 220mz. Is there anything I could do to have the memory run at peak performace? Do I need to Flash the Bios? Thanks,Bill

This isn't a problem (I don't think so anyway) but just an oddity and I wondered if anyone else has experienced it:I have overclocked my AMD Athlon X2 4800+ to 3.0GHz and ever since doing this (about 5 months now) I have noticed that in the Windows XP Task Manager performance window one core (2nd one) is always running slightly higher than the other - even when I shut down pretty much all services etc!Any ideas why this is? When I put the system under load the two readouts are usually even (apart from things like FS9 which uses only one).Geoff

I'm at the stage of buying a video card for a new system, and I'm kinda stumped. What kind of performance (frames & smoothness, texture loading, etc) can one expect from this CPU, plenty of ram, at 1600x1200 with 4xAA/16xAF, using default aircraft in dense, and taxing scenery? I don't have FSX yet, but I plan to use this new build for FSX at some point. How about with the heavy stuff, like PMDG. I know it's definitely worse, but are these complex birds too much even for a beefy platform as I describe? The thing I can't help notice is that faster video cards seem to equate to faster FSX performance, at least to a degree. So I'm wondering if the new high end Geforce…

i got the Radeon x1650 to replace my Radeon 9600 AGP which wasn't a smart move in my opinion. i'll spare you the details but i don't recommend this card at all.am considering the Radeon 7300 or one of the 7000 series i saw at Best Buy. can anyone compare them to my x1650 or 9600? i running an AMD 2.4 gig CPU with 1-1/2 gigs of ram and a 24 in. widescreen.all sliders maxed out but using 2D clouds. i get excellant performance on my 9600 but not as good on the x1650. resolution is 1024x768.i'd like to run at 1200x1600 and was hoping a good video card would get me there but am having doubts now, that's why i'm posting this. maybe i can't get that high on my machine and will h…

Hi... I have a strange shimmer problem? I've managed to completely irradicate shimmer within FS2004 on Vista with the exception of ALL add-on scenery & add-on aircraft!! For example all the aircraft that came with FSTraffic and all my autogen are now fine but any file library add-ons or EZ scenery buildings appear to shimmer. The aircraft start to shimmer once they begin pushback! Any ideas??

Hi all, can anyone tell me why my computer tends to lockup sometimes when I access my aircrafts for the first time in FS9? Somestimes it freezes and sometimes it does not. When it does lock up, I have to reboot my machine completely. Im using the Omega 7.10 series drives for my ATI card. Thanks,Bill

just got the Radeon x1650. i had a Radeon 9600 and ran FS9 in 1024x768, 2D clouds and everything else maxed out to the right. also using the default boeings with the VC. with real weather i could be at most any airport takeoff and go with framerates 20-24 or there abouts. oh yea, AA was at 6 and it ran rock soild. i wanted to run at 1200x1600 but it wouldn't quite do it so i got the x1650 with 512 ram. OUCH! it runs worse with the same settings than the 6900, FPS are around 15 in the same locations and at 1200x1600 with AA at 2x i get 8-10 FPS. i've had this card for a few days trying to get SOMETHING out of it but so far all i'm getting is FRUSTRATED!!! i've got the lat…

Hi everyone, intel skulltrail has been talked alot about lately but i just want to state my opinion. For so much money you can buy two processors and 4 Graphics cards. A total of already about $6000 not including cooling, PC case, hard drive or the power supply and motherboard. Adding all of these in will bring the total cost to about 8-10K, Power supplies that you would need to run all of this wont even be out yet. 4 GPU and 2 CPU you would need like a 2500 watt power supply and the max at the moment is 1500. The skulltrails overclocking capability is terrible. As it takes a -70 Ccooler to get a 3.2GHz Penryn to 4GHz. So for those of you using water you will only …

I am using O&O for my computer defrag and have set it up to defrag based on Name as recommended in these forums. My question is on the MFT. I see it is a continuous block (which is good)and its located approximately in the middle of the drive by default. My question is this...can it be moved and should it be moved or is it best to just leave it alone and keep it defragged through the offline defrag feature.thanks,Mark.

My Logitech Freedom 2.4 is crapping out on me. After 2+ years the pots are getting really noisy, sending all kinds of crazy signals.I've decided the Saitek Cyborg Evo Wireless may be a good replacement for me. I split time between MSFS and military sims like Falcon 4 so a yoke is out of the question, and I simply can't afford $150 for a good HOTAS. I love the lack of tangled wires with my Logitech, but am dissatisfied with their quality - from what I can tell on their support forums their products don't seem to last much longer than the 1-year warranty.I was wondering what thoughts any flight simmers have on the Cyborg wireless, as all online reviews I've seen are written…
