Has anyone tried the new (not officially beta yet) 171.16 drivers yet ?, I've read where the AA profile problem & DX 10 issues are fixed in Vista for FSX/FS9, can anyone confirm ?

That's it! At least for now - I've given up with Vista and reistalled XP-Pro.I was spending well over 3/4 of my PC time trying to *fix* things!BIG problem now though.... Although XP is ok on my C drive, the other three hard drives will no longer format under XP. Vista obviously doesn't like being removed. What can I do - any ideas? Thanks

I bought of pair of Saitek Throttles, and have everything just fine but the reverse thrust. Just can't get that function. MSFS Assignments doesn't have this listed, so I bought an FSUIPC registration. That gave me reverse, but then I get a serious micro stop every second, extremely noticeable during taxi and landings.I've updates every driver I could, tried all the suggestions I could find and it's still there. I noticed that it even does this jerk pause while scolling through the FSUIPC commands while trying to find the right one. Anyone have a cure for that jerk pause, and is there a way to get reverse thrust by inputting commands into the FS9.cfg file? This is driving …

Guys, I need your advise on the above ASAP. I'm going to buy 8800GT, so is there any practical sense to go as high as 1024MB vs 512MB DDR3 for FSX @ the same speeds? Many thanks.

My desktop PC broke and has been replaced with a high end laptop from M-tech (Win XP Pro). This has no DVI out, but luckily the VGA out port runs the old desktop display just fine in analogue, making for a quick double monitor setup for moving maps, radio stacks, gps, etc.Now then, I also have an old Dell laptop (WinXP home)which has busted dialup modem and LAN ports. The USB ports and the PC cardbus ports are fine. Everything else is fine as well.Local shop tells me it is almost impossible to fix at a resonable price because the broken LAN circuitry is hard wired into the main board.Does it sound reasonable when they say that there isn't a way to add LAN thru the laptop's…

I have two computers. One for flying aircraft with stick and throttle and the other for flying large jets using yoke and a throttle quardant. I can switch between two computer using a connector for my one monitor. Is there something made,so that I can use my CH rudder pedals, using some sort of switch, to transfer the USB port from one computer to another.I only fly one computer at a time. Somedays, I like to fly military jets (FS9 one computer) and other days I like to fly airliners (other computer using FSX).Space allows only one set of CH Rudder Pedals. Need some way to go back and forth between computers (something other then just unplugging).Any ideas or thoughts…

I have an ATI HD3870 but with FS9 all distant textures and Autogen shimmer a lot, it's very unpleasant, night textures shimmer worse! and I don't understand why.I've tried all settings, from min to max on ATI CCC, also tried the old d3d9.dll on fs9 folder trick but it doesn

Hi, I have CH products, ie Flightsim Yoke, Pedals and now a Flightstick Pro (Xmas present). The latter I've set up on a second old pc with FSX because I would like to learn how to fly helicopters (eg, I cannot find out how to program the hat switch and buttons on this either..). However, I've always had no end problems "decyphering" the CH instuctions and getting things set up properly - incidentally I have the CH Manager program but that totally confuses me.....!! Anyway, just thought I'd ask if there are any easy to understand instructions available on the net in this regard.Maybe is just old age and the brain just can't hand this new age stuff :-hmmm Thanks in advance

I've posted my cooling solution here before for those who might be so inclined, but the change I made yesterday is huge and so wanted to share . . .I have a Sharp Quiet thru-the-wall A/C unit I installed a couple of years ago to help cool my PC and the room where it lives, which can get a little warm in the summers here in Nor California. I had been intending to make a ducting system from teh output of the unit, which heretofore has just blasted air directly into the open case, kinda off to the side due to techical difficulties with the location of my PC and the AC unit. I ended up building a ducting system that takes 100% of the output and routes it out 2 x 4-5" alumin…

Hi, I have both cards here at home and Im currently using the 6800GT to see if my stutter will go away. The stutters seemed to be there still. Just want to know what every thinks, if I should put back the ATI X1950 Pro card with 512MB of ram back in my PC since I think textures did load up quicker, or keep the 6800GT in my machine. Someone told me that FS9 does not support shaders from the ATI X1950Pro videocard and sticking with the 6800GT would be better. Would there be a way to turn off the shader feature on the ATI card for FS9?Thanks everyone,Bill

The Nvidia 9800GX2 which was supposed to be two 9800 series graphics cards, has bad news. The 9800GX2 although it has pictures and specs released is actually just two 8800s put together instead of 2 9800s. This means that its time for the 9800GTX which is 100% faster than a single Ultra and 70% faster than the 9800GX2(8950GX2)

Hello All, I am looking for the best drivers to run the game. I just purchased a nvidia 8600GTOC for my computer. I am also looking for settings in the game to make it a smooth operation. Since I have this card I have been experiencing some Game Pauses sometime It might last up to a minute before it resumes. I have my frame rate set to unlimited. Some places I am getting about 40-50 fps but in some of the more dense cities. I t is only about 10-15 fps. I would appreciate any tweaks that would help me.I do not have a high-end system. My system is a HP Pentium D dual core 2.8 2G Ram 320G hard Drive with the 8600GTOC with 512 gDDR3 memory on it.ThanksFred

Now Everyone this is a straight forward perfect FSX Setup. Dont worry about trying to tune up to massive amounts of speed just do this. Buy some decent water cooling and an Asus Maximus Extreme Motherboard (Comes with Sound Card and Cooling so dont install a heatsink).Buy a QX9650 and with your Asus Board with the built in cooler and your water cooling overclock your QX9650 to 4.7GHz.Get 2,3 or 4GB of RAM Do not Buy 2GB ModulesWINDOWS XP.Buy an 8800Ultra for now then upgrade to the 9800GTX (NEXT YEAR)Use at MAX a 22 inch screen. Any bigger your FPS will drop and your 2d panel will be stretched beyond something good.Install SP1. Set FSX Anti-Aliasing, Light Bloom, Anis…

I have a Dell quad core with 2 gb of ram on Vista 32 bit system. I added 2 gb of ram and it still shows 2 gb. I thought Vista 32 limited the RAM to 3 GB. How do I check whether the extra 2 GB was installed correctly. Under System Properties only 4 GB is listed. I know somewhere it should say 4 GB. SAince I am not too computer savy, please give details for "dummies".And is the extra 2 GB even helping me in FSX assuming I installed it correctly?

I get massive (temporary) blurries when I switch from VC to external view and back. When I cycle using "s," it goes from VC to tower view to camera, to external, and I think the textures try to load far away from my acft thus stop loading near my acft. Why would they be crisp in the VC, but blurry again when I switch to external and vice versa?

Hi, I just tried installing Catalyst 7.12 without uninstalling 7.10. After that, CCC will not open at all. I tried uninstalling every trace of ATI and even did a system restore but after the system restore, every time i open CCC it gives me the "has encountered a problem and needs to close" error. Please I need some help as FS9 has no AA and AF at all without CCC open.

Hi all,Look, I want to buy this joystick but stuck into a "simple" question: [color:red]which one?![/color] - the conventional or the Pro version. The prices are different (Pro is almost double expensive)... But the features listed on Saitek's website are not that different except for some extras in the Pro version which I don't understand since never had any stick before... I'm not sure about their practical applicability, to be honest...Putting simple, I don't wanna waste extra 100 bucks for a few features I'll hardly ever use. But if you guys can prove the opposite, I mean if you can explain why the PRO features not found in X52 are important, I'll be happy to consider…
