Not sure how to trouble shoot this one but I'm having two problems and I think it might be either ram or my video card.First let me give you my system, xp sp2/e6850 cpu/ asus P5N32-E SLI mobo/2 gig of corsair ram/GTX 8800 XFX video card.Heres my problems1) when using 3d games I have these little boxes that flash all over the screen and are seen only on some background colors. I've attached a pic.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/184177.jpg2) When I turn on my computer after it has sat unused for awhile and run FS it seems that once it gets warmed up it locks up or sometimes I see a flash of a blue screen and then shuts down. Hola, can someone explain to me why I keep getting microstutters on my updated system. The sim does run alot smoother than my old AMD 3400, with 2gig of sigle channel memory and a 6800GT video card. Now Im running dual channel memory, but for some reason, I still get micro stutters here and there when turning on the ground or banking in the air. I have removed Utimate Terrain to see if that was the issue, but no its still there, I have removed my mesh scenery for most of the USA (the free onces from here at avsim) and the stutters are still there. Hmm, what could I do to have my sim run butter smooth? Like I said, when there are no micro sutters, it runs like a dream…

I have recently acquired a great AWD 22" LCD monitor. However, I have noticed that when running FSX, the menu will suddenly either have distorted text or the text will disappear altogether leaving only the _ lines that would normally be the Hotkey letters.I am running the screen in 'recommended' 16x10, but have also tried 14x9 with similar results. My graphics card is an 'XFX GForce 7600GT' with 256mb RAM, and I have 2 GBytes DDR physical RAM in the machine; AMD ATHLON 2.6mhz. NVidia drivers are recommended WHQL 169.21. Using DVI cable connection too.I was wondering whether there are any graphics settings, either for the card or elsewhere that I should be setting as thi…

For the moment AA seems to be the biggest problem. Turning it on via nHancer gives a huge drop in FSP, at low settings. The same result if I turn it on in FS9. I have a selected I high screen resolution, 1680x1050, both in windows and FS9, but selecting any lower settings gives me blurry textures and it doesn't look good at all.I would think this system should …

A question for anyone with socket 939 overclocking knowledge - would there be any difference (and would I notice it) between the following processors:AMD X2 4800+ overclocked to 3.0GHz running fairly hot but stableVS.AMD Opteron 185 also overclocked to 3.0GHzThe rest of the system would be the same as my signature below... My thoughts are that there might be some since (correct me if I'm wrong) the Opty should run a little cooler and has a higher multi (might help my RAM a little) since it started at 2.6GHz stock rather than 2.4GHz for the 4800+... In terms of FS use, this machine will only be running FS9 for the foreseeable future - I intend a major upgrade in about 12 m…

Hey All;Just lately my FlightSim9/EZ Scenery/AFX has started to act up. With AFX, it will open up a file and as you work with it, the program (AFX) starts to hang up for periods of time. Many times going to an all white display with a black stripe across the screen. Eventually it comes back to the afcad that was being edited and you can continue . . . til it hangs again.EZ-Scenery is doing something similar. The control panel disappears and the area where it was on the screen retains the portion of the screen that was behind it. If you mouse click in that area part of the panel returns. And a good many times when you start FS, the popup that comes up in the middle o…

I assume my new Saitek yoke is defective.Any control inputs results in large spikes in cpu usage. With task manager open,I see up to 44% when moving yoke or even the throttle. Let go and cpu returns to 0%.This naturaly causes huge frame rate drops rendering yoke uslessSaitek forums only have X-52 board? I see nothing on yokes.Does anyone have any suggestions?I have reinstalled with Saitek drivers with same results.I would like to avoid returning if posible, but see no other solution.

I own a Dell XPS 400. It's not the best gaming system (and it's a Dell...), but it has served me well for the 8 or so months that I have owned it. I can have all my FSX settings on "High" without much of a problem. There was one thing, however. As many of you have probably experienced, having the default FSX traffic setting on "High" will give you about one out-of-place Pacifica 737 and two Baron 58's. So, naturally, I ed it all the way up to 100%. There still wasn't a realistic amount of air traffic, but nevertheless, any large amount would cut my frame rate in half. Still unsatisfied with the default traffic, I purchased Ultimate Traffic 2007. I did so after …

A tiny Asus eeePC notebook is on order and it will be installed with winXP. But not every program works on this tiny little thingee. I know it will take a LAN connection OK, but has anyone actually installed and used Peter Dowson's utilities on one of these? Of course I would use the VGA out connection to a monitor, not the built in 7" screen ;).But I didn't want to buy the software from Pete if it wasn't going to work on my second computer (the eeePC), which like I said is picky about which applications it will run.

I currently run FSX on a DELL XPS GEN2 Pentium4 3.2Ghz Extreme system I was wondering several things. Is it possible for me to upgrade my CPU to a faster one, something perhaps closer to 3.8Ghz without having to overclock anything? If it is possible then how can I tell which CPUs are compatible with my system? Lastly, I'd like to know if it's something that's even worth doing. Thank you for your input.

I got my Core 2 Quad running at 3.02 GHz on a 1333 MHz FSB from the default 2.4/1066. It's idling around 36 Celsius and loaded with FSX around 45-46 Celsius. I have a Thermaltake V1 Heatsink running at max speet, 2 25 cm case fans running at max speed, and 2 12 cm interior fans running at max speed. Are these temperatures OK? The manual said something like the safe point was 38 Celsius. Is 46 too much? Thanks,BoeingGuyEDIT: If it's unsafe, I'm bringing it down to 2.8 Ghz. If I have the OK, I'm taking it up to 3.2 GHz and stopping there. 3.2 might my final destination, depending on if there is anyone out there who can tell me their temps.

I am particularly keen to hear from people who have got these setups, and would be interested to know how they rate them in FSX. Also, could you please suggest appropriate motherboards. Many thanks for any suggestions.Qas

169.04_forceware_winxp_32bit_english_beta.exeProduces best results for me, still. Tried some new drivers, that came inbetween and the newest. All gave less quality in FS9 (with nHancer), Supersampling wasn't working as it should etc etc... I will stay with the driver from above for now, it came out still in October. First driver to support 8800GT series of cards.
