I have an old friend who started using his FSNavigator 4.7 in FS2004 for the first time in about 3 years. This evening we found that when we bring up FSNavigator within the sim, no airports or runways are displayed on the FSNavigator moving map. We are totally baffled by this. My friend says that last time he used FSnav some years ago, all airports and runways showed up normally. He showed me a screenshot from back then and sure enough there were the airports and runways. I ran FSNav DBC to see whether this would make a difference. It didn't do anything at all. So as of now, my friend has all waypoints, nav aids, and ILS's displayed within FSNav, but absolutely no ai…

Hey all... New poster here. Didint see anything on this topic so I apologize in advance if this has been mentioned. I am tweaking FS to be as realistic as I can make it but i just cant get over how clean and plain the white lines, numbers and touchdown markings look in FS2004. Are there freeware replacements or can anyone tell me what textures those are so I can try to tweak them? Any help would be welcome.

Hi Good People, As many of you may be aware over at the Ford Project Site last week we released a very large batch of Curtiss Jenny JN4D liveries for the Default Microsoft aircraft. Last Sunday I decided to have a bit of a tinker with the 3D Virtual Cockpit image and convert one to match the overall livery style so that when in the VC mode your view of the aircraft textures were in sync with the theme of the aircraft instead of the default white/grey style. Came out pretty good actually - so set myself a mission - convert all VC view for every one of the textures we have available for FREE download from the site - big job - finished them all yesterday after a sol…

I am flying the default FS2004 Beechcraft Baron with the autopilot active. My current IAS at 14,000 feet is 158, but the speed displayed in the DMA Nav panel reads 190 knots. Is that my current Groundspeed (GS) in knots? I appreciate any posts, thanks. JS

I apologise if this has been discussed to death in advance, I've tried looking up all the changes possible to the FS9.cfg and my textures still seem quite blurry at a reasonably close distance to my aircraft, as well as putting anisotropic filtering to 16x. Is there any way to increase this? The reason I ask is I've seen some youtube videos and screenshots where people don't seem to have this problem, or perhaps it's clever positioning to hide these flaws. I've attached images to show exactly what I mean. http://puu.sh/aTDfo/c1b26a30eb.jpg http://puu.sh/aTCPP/16f57f9ade.jpg Example of a video I was talking about;

I just built a new computer and wanted to get FS9 back onto it. Set up is, AMD 8350 8-Core 4.00GHz 16GB Ram 2 R9 270x 2GB Cards in Crossfire FS9 is on a SSD I have used a FS9 Configurator, used resized tree textures, REX Clouds and texture and quite a few addons, well, a lot. Also ran the DXTFixer having searched the forums lately. In most airports I get good performance, near the 50FPS benchmark. In some like FlyTampa Dubai or FSDT LAX it runs around mid 20s. Now here's where I'm having some issues. with a layer of clouds, we'll say I use the real world weather thing in FS, it creates a layer, I get maybe 15 FPS. I know that FS9 cannot use more than 1 …

Hi guys. So when I run FS9 on my desktop, I get good frames ( usually around 30+ fps), but if I install the ENB bloom effect, FS9 starts lagging, so I had to remove it. How can that issue be fixed?

Hi, I'm a FS2004 user. I'm installing new AI packages from World of AI. Due to past issues with an old version of Spanair package(CTD), I want to ask if there is a way to check a specific livery aircraft's location, time, date, etc... For example, yesterday I installed an Air Cairo package. It contains A320's aircraft for its livery. I have searched all the airports where Air Cairo lands at and I couldn't find any Air Cairos. Even on their hubs which is in HECA, HEGN and HESH. I changed several times the hours from dawn to night. It is a small package I think, it might have only 1 to 5 A320's in flight sim. Please note I'm asking this because if I go on and i…

Hi Folks. Am I doing something wrong here. I have tried many times to add a paint to an existing aircraft by following the readme doc. that comes with the download. I add the necessary guages and effects etc to the correct folders, but when I try to add the next flight [fltsim.0] number, (please see attached), it never seems to work, and the new paint does not show up in my FS2004 under that aircraft drop down list. What am I doing wrong please? Thanks John

Hi: I remember back in the old days, there were several programs out there that would stop all running programs/processes when you loaded FS2004...Does anyone know of these programs and if they will still work with Win 8.1? Thanks for the advice... Steve

For those of you who have the wonderful Saitek Yoke System. How in heck does one map the reverse function of the throttles to work in FS9? It seems that the reverse functions acts as buttons and NOT part of the throttle axis?Any help would be greatly appreciated!ThanksMike T.

Hi, again a nice scenery for FS9: SAZN Neuquén Presidente Perón in Patagonia in Southern Argentina. I think not everybody will have the sudden impetus to fly there. I bought it due to sentiments to Patagonia from a journey there - and it's really good. Later I got an E-Mail from the developer AlSur Sceneries from Uruguay with a personal thanks and the information that I can get support by mailing to this address... Indeed, a very nice Bienvenidos al Patagonia! http://secure.simmarket.com/alsur-sceneries-presidente-pern-international-airport-sazn-fs2004-%28de_8646%29.phtml

I got fsmetar about a week ago and it is great, but It always sets the visibility to 10 miles or less, I am stuck with ifr flying only when I use the program, and it is unrealistic. I heard somewhere that 10sm on a metar means good visibility, and all metars I have seen say 10sm or a lower, anyways fsmetar interprets this incorrectly. Am I stuck with it like this? or is there a way to disable or change the way fsmetar interprets visibility? Could something be done with fsiupc's settings to fix this?

Hi, I am looking for some help and advice with rebuilding my FS9 after a new installation of WIndows. My computer specs are as follows; Window 7 Premium Home Edition 64 Bits Intel 760 GPU overclocked to 3.8Ghz MSI GTX 660 OC GPU Cooler Master 212 FAN 8G Ram (2 x 4G stick) Separate 1TB sata hard drive for FS9 So it should eat FS9 for breakfast. I have only installed one airport add on scenery for testing purpose and 100% of my AI traffic. I fly commercial airlines so I have a lot of AI traffic at the airports to make it realistic. The sim runs fine with everything at MAX, and I am getting between 35-40 FPS and excellent graphics using Nvidi…

REX for FS9 seems like a powerful application with the potential for greatly enhancing the simming experience. Unfortunately, I am finding the manual to be less-than-helpful in regards to installation. Nowhere can I find where in the file structure REX should be installed and what settings in FS9 need to be changed so that the FS9 weather engine is disabled. Over the years I have consistently found that software companies are much better code writers than they are instruction writers. This is no exception. Even their web page is pretty stingy with information. There are many entries in their Q&A section that list a problem, some exchanges with tech support and…

Now that so many did provide a heads-up regarding a new FS2004 scenery I have to follow: ThaiCreation VTBD Don Mueang http://secure.simmarket.com/thai-creation-sawasdee-bangkok-don-mueang-intl-fs2004.phtml (My opinion: I think there had been airports more necessary to develop in Asia, because for VTBD there's a very good freeware available... What about Brunei, Port Moresby, Male, Kolkata, Pyongyang - with city scenery ^_^, Almaty, Ulaanbaatar, Dushanbe, Beijing... However, it looks well, and if it gets the requested AES support I probably will buy it.) Harald

Excuse this posting in this area of the forum...I had posted it in the Panel Design section but there's not much activity down there... This is my first try at anything relating to panel design...Is there a simple (?) way to attach a gauge to another panel? For example: I would like to attach the Lear autopilot to the Baron panel...(Both stock airplanes)...Can this be done by "cut and paste" or is a panel design program required? Thanks for the advice... Steve

This question comes up every now and then: How many sceneries can you have in FS9? One of the limits is the "Level" number in the scenery.cfg file. It's 400. I hit it yesterday, and my scenery for LEPA disappeared after I did some rearranging to get my AFCADs to work. After this point, it appears that you need to manually edit scenery.cfg. The scenery GUI can't handle it. The good news is, it will still work fine with a text editor on the file.

I know (at least I think I know) that it is possible to program a button or switch to start all engines on an airplane in order without having to start each engine individually...I have tried "Ctrl+E"...That starts one engine but not the others...I also have tried using FSUICP...Can someone out there help me out? Thanks, Steve

Latin VFR has released Santa Cruz Viru Viru (SLVR). It's for FS9, FSX, and P3D. Right now the scenery is just at Latin VFR's website but I am sure it will also be at Simmarket soon.

Hi folks, Just wondering is there a nice effect for halogen bulbed landing lights?. For example when turning off your landing lights you can see the bulb heating down (slowly dimming). On shock wave lighting and most landing lights they are like an LED effect as soon as you turn the lights on they are on instantly with no bulb effect. If not would this be a do-able effect to program and contemplate in doing? Wowk

I have owned a registered copy of FSUIPC for some amount of time now. After installing the CS 757, I noticed that upon opening the FSUIPC module, it stated that FSUIPC was unregistered. I successfully restored the system to its state prior to the CS 757 installation, and much to my chagrin FSUIPC still appears to be unregistered. Any idea what can be done? I'd hate to have to purchase another registration code. FWIW, I'm no longer using my email that I used to initially register FSUIPC. Any/all help is much appreciated!

Hi, I keep getting this error message when I load a saved .flt file, either from a shortcut or from the flt file directly. Why - any ideas anyone? I have been doing this for many years and am pretty familiar with the format when I open the flt file in a text editor. It all looks OK to me! Moreover, when Ioad the same flight from within 'Select a flight' (clicking oon fs9.exe rather than the flt file to start the programme) it loads up just fine. So why don't some flights load directly from the flt file? If the file were 'corrupt' I should surely get the same problem when I try to load it via the fs9 'select a flight' screen? Just an Fs9 glitch?? Thanks - flt f…
