What would cause FS9 to minimize to the desktop evey 15-20 or so?BTW...New rig and loving it. I never thought I could ever fly with everything maxed with UT, GEPRO, FE and all the hard hitting aircraft. Only the busiest airports drop it below the locked 20 fps. I'm wondering if anyone knows how I might get rid of the aurora borealis effect in FS9? Although I liked it at first, now it mainly annoys me, especially when it shows up over places like Denmark and southern Sweden (Irl it's very rare here, but in FS9 I see it all the time). Also something is wrong with the effect on my system, sometimes causing it to follow me down as I descend, sometimes even all the way down to the ground. I'll happily try any suggestions.

Hello,I own the PMDG 737-800/900, but not the -600/-700.But I'd still like to fly the -700 in WN colors, with the Posky model.It wouldn't be a problem if the Ident says 737-800...Before trying this out I want to know wheter this is possible or not.Thanks!Regards, Marius

I have FSX and FS9 on my system. Maybe by coinincidence but since installing FSX I keep getting "insert disc 4" everytime I try and start FS9 even though disc 4 is inserted.I cannot start FS9. Anyone got any ideas?ThanksPeter

HEY fellow simmers, I was wondering if any of you have seen this or know how i can go about fixing it. I installed FSX a few days ago, on the same computer with FS9. For those few days they have been working fine. Today I get this error message when starting FS9."Your computer has run out of available memory. Flight Simulator will now exit. You may not have enough free space on your hard drive. Run Disk Cleanup to yadda yadda yadda..." So I did that, ran disk cleanup, was clean, ran diskeeper defragment, all was well. Looked at my hard drives capacity and theres more pink than blue. I uninstalled FSX thinking maybe that was the cause but no such luck.So Im out of…

Hi all, how many of you guys are using IE7 and have no issues with FS9? I remember back when IE7 was beta there were issues of FS9 messing up. Does anyone know if that issue has been corrected?Thanks,Bill

About seven weeks ago I rebuilt with an Asus A8N, AMD DualCore 64 4200+, Asus 7900GTX, and upped to 2GB of DDR and a 550w power supply, keeping the previous 120Gb WD Sata.I was able to slide everything I wanted to the right and was amazed at how much more I was seeing, how much more nuance in terms of texture, colour etc, and how high and consistent the fps were, even with complex payware scenery and 'planes.I have noticed in the last couple of weeks a considerable drop in fps, micro stutters and slow texture-loading (change views and the ground scenery comes up in blocks). Hi; I am trying to remember how to have the default setup of FS 2004 (and FSX too for that matter) start out in a 'cold, dark' cockpit. I had this before and now (after a hardware upgrade, graphics upgrade,and reload etc.. ) I can't seem to remember how it was done.

Are there known causes for instant framerate fluctuations?I noticed during my last few flights that my framerate display (shift+z) does not show a steady framerate number. I have it locked at 25 and it used to stay there most of the time but lately it goes up and down every second even when there

How great the FPS are on FS9 with all the addons one could think of. Is this really true? I own FS9 I do not have all the addons, but to be honest when I used photoreal scenery or My PMDG 747 with FS9 maxed It would kill my FPS just like FSX can. Am I missing something about FS9 where you can have it all and amazing fps. I could never look out my 747's window into airport traffic with the cocpit in plain view and keep good FPS and thats without all the other addons.

Good evening fellow FS9 Pilots.A little guidance please.What do you consider to be the best add on Boeing 737 or 757?I fly the Flight One ATR and LVLD 767 but would like to add a smaller jet for some of the shorter routes.I like to fly from the virtual cockpit so the quality of this is important.It appears that we wont be getting the LVLD 757 for FS9 as the developers are abandoning us for the crock of **** called FSX!!I would be interested in anyones experience of the add ons available and appreciate your help.John:-wave

Can someone please explain how the search for default or addon scenery in settings is used? I clicked on search for addon scenery while I had Mr Ansari's New york LaGuardia airport loaded and now it just keeps coming up.I can't seem to be able to change the airport.Best regardsAndrew

Hi All, Where can i find the information for a drag chute fitted to an aircraft, i would like to put a chute into another plane ,is it in the air file or aircraft CFG file or WHU, also is it possible to add one? Thanks for any help.

With the recent time change, I see that the U.S. west coast should be -8 UTC but is still showing -7. I'm using the newest version of FS RealTime. I'm pretty sure I have the appropriate boxes checked. How do I get the proper offset for this time of year?Thanks

HiI am trying to add reverse pitch to a piston twin in FS9.1I went through the cfg and air files and made everything that was related to reverse pitch true or added a value. It still does not work.My question is, Is it possible to even have reverse prop pitch on a piston plane in FS9, and if so how would i go about doing it?thanks

Hi, I just got my FSX and bought a copy of the overland world airlines package. I got the planes to work well, however there are some problems with the panels.The panel.cfg files of the overland package refers to gauge files that are part of FS9 (FS2004) and are not there in FSX. So could anyone with FS9 zip them up and email them to me PLEASE so I can get the panels to work.The needed gauge files are:737-400.gaulear45.gauBoeing747-400.cabBoeing777-300.gauMy Email is [email protected] or you can use [email protected] you very much.

I have installed Traffic Tools sdk per the instructions on the Microsoft site... twice. Once on an earlier FS9 installation and just a few minutes ago on a new one. However, unlike the first time where I got a menu choice added to my ALT menu at the top of the FS9 screen, I do not now have the same entry or choice. It just isn't there.I've forgotten exactly where the Traffic Tools menu choice should be, bu I've looked through each of the pull downs and its just no there.I have confirmed manualy/visally that the appropriate dll was installed.Any suggestions?

Hmmm - I had FS9 on another machine for years - no problem. That machine died (ok I killed it flashing the BIOS) so I bought a new one, and installed it about 3 weeks ago. All was good. I kept my old FS9 folder, installed fresh on this copy of windows xp, then dragged the old folder and replaced the new one with it. Cool - all my terrain upgrades (a ton from FS genesis) and years of freeware and payware planes - all there no problem. Used the sim a lot for the first couple of weeks, then got FSX and have been tinkering with that. I now want to use FS9 again, but two things stand out. When i touch down on the runway, i can see tire marks. Yet, when i come back around (doing touch and go's), i cannot. i believe i used to be able to but it doesn't seem to work any more..?? any ideas or addons for this?
