Hi All...Quick question - I hope...I use CH Products Fighter Stick - Throttle - and Quad Throttle...For years I have had been using the Fighter Stick TOPHAT to control my POV in Fs9... Recently I have been playing with some control settings and Fs9 seemed to get confused as to which device was which... I have that all corrected now - yet I am still unable to get the TOPHAT to pan around in Fs9... It is definately defined as the POV in the CH Control Manager... Is there a setting somewhere in Fs9 where I have to identify the tophat as my POV device ???Any help greatly appreciated...Thanks,Scott

I am not a pilot so I truly have no idea how landing small aircraft is but I don't think it's that easy. I fly mostly small aircraft in FS so far and with settings maxed I still find landing too easy. In both FSX and FS9 I can just about land any small plane with ease. I want it to be more challenging and more real. Maybe I should just step it up to jets?? To anybody that flies small aircraft in real life what do you think about this?? Thank you.

i am having a problem getting the autopilot to function on the i fly 747. i cannot get altitude hold to work nor heading hold. anyone else having such problems?

FS-Blaze is an application which converts forest fire data (real-time via NOAA, or historical) into scenery for FS9 (FSX support will be in v2.0). At some airports, I start up and ask for taxi clearance. I get it and move along to the EOR, where I wait my turn and finally pull up to the HS line. I switch frequencies to the tower and tell him/her that I'm ready for take-off clearance. ATC tells me to hold short, directs inbound planes in, and never says a word to me. I have turned around and come back to the HS line and there still is no ATC (nor is there a choice in the ATC box to say "HELLO!"). I have to pull into take-off position for them to remember me.Any workarounds or tweaks for this?dolph

Some people, I am sure, are still laboring under the assumption that CS are going to release Block F of/for their 757 for FS9.I suggest you rethink that assumption."Good question, tho development for the both FS are similar but still different, so most likely we'll release the Block F for the most popular FS first, then (if that will make any commercial sence by that time) we release Block F for another FS. All the expressions of frustration and dissatisfaction from so many people on the FSX forum makes me really appreciate what a great product we have in FS9. I'm sure FSX will really bloom as Vista and DX10 with appropriate hardware comes along but I am very happy to have a sim that works great, looks great, and really offers up a satisfying experience when gussied up with the appropriate addons. Kudos for those with the patience to make FSX the great product it will surely evolve into.Noel

Hi all,I've been kind of reluctant to purchase any more addons for FS9 with the arrival of FSX, but I just finished reading the review for Captain Sim's 757 and it received Avsim's Gold Star Award. I was looking for a second opinion on this plane. I will say that it looks quite enticing and also I've purchased the PSS 757, but I guess I'm a little dissapointed with it to say the least.Thanks,Jeff

I consider myself lucky as I've never had issues with FS9 until today. I did search the forums and found some useful information, but none that has helped remedy my situation.Here's the symptoms:- FS9 freezes at startup and does not completely load. Task Manager showed it as not responding. This has taken on a few different forms. At various times the startup froze while "Building Scenery Database" at 92%, 93%, and at 97%, not necessarily in that order after various attempts at fixes by removing recently installed repaints and AFCADS and reverting to older, backup versions of scenery.cfg.FS9 now partially boots, but I receive many error messages as follows.Image "d…

Well I have been playing around with all the tweaks for FSX and I have noticed a trend of alot of the FS9 tweaks working in FSX so I figured I would try some of the FSX ones in FS9.I did three things last night that seamed to give me great performance in both FSX and FS9, try them out for yourself and let me know what you think.Downloaded and installed the latest NVidia driver from www.nvidia.com It is the 91.47 it was updated 10/17/06 and specifically mentions it was updated for FSX.Re-installed DX9.0c from Microsoft web page, it was also updated in October.I installed these lines in the FS9.cfg:Installed in the SectionFIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=33This reduces the blurri…

I purchased TRAFFICBOARD when it was released ans kept up with upgrades and changes from FS2002 to FS2004. I've just bought a new computer and now reinstalling FS and all the add-ons. Hi there, I am having big probs with frame rates in FS9. I do have alot of addon airports such as Heathrow Pro and Ultimate Traffic.I find that when Im at EGLL and have the traffic on, the stutter is so bad I cant takeoff or land properly. Late in July of this year, there was purge of members at AI traffic group, Evolve AI. One of the founding members, Brian Mitchell, granted himself dictatorial powers and forced some of the other members, including founding members, out of the group against their will. Hi,I installed the beautiful Maliniemi's Maule, completed with the last aptch. Unfortunately, I keep on experimenting a sensible left drift I can only contrast with a right rudder trim setting. Hi Everyone, im a newbie to board so please be simple ha haI am using Ken Mitchels Airbus Panel for my A320/1. Is there anyway to pre-programme a holding pattern in the flight plans so it comes up on the display for flying from waypoint to waypoint while in auto pilot?Or basicly is there anyway to set up a hold pattern in a certain area and leave the plane in hold?I have flown the plane manually doing a hold, by basicly flying a heading for 1 minute then flying the opposite heading for 1 min and so on.Any suggestions?

Hi all,I need some advice on X-fi soundcards and their Fatal1ty series in particular. Currently, I have an Audigy 2ZS and whilst its a great card, with the PMDG 747 I get sound crackling when throttling up or down. No matter whatever soundset I use, I still get this crackling and static sound that ruins the whole experience with this airplane. Their latest soundset seems to have removed a great deal of crackling but some remains. Now, the issue seems to be the Panel sounds and the FS engine sounds. Due to them being separate and requiring a lot of processing power, I get these static sounds with my card.Now, with that in mind, what sort of difference would I be getting If…

I took all my flight training at a small "mom & pop" airport called Spanaway Airport (S44). At 20 X 3700, this was not an easy place to learn to land by any means. The width slapped many pilots trying to learn to fly but after they learned there, we knew that they could fly/land anywhere. Due to the ever expanding urban sprawl, Spanaway airport is now on the chopping block. Slated to be replaced by 188 homes. Why am I telling you this? I'm not exactly sure. Hi everyone ...I was wondering if anyone can shed a problem I am having with downloading the real world weather .... Everything seems to be fine when I download the 'static' weather but when I try to use the 'updated every 15 mins' real weather it always tells me that it cannot obtain a connection even though I am connected ... this happens after the initial 15 mins .... If I go back to just downloading the static weather everything is fine ... any ideas!!I would really appreciate some help of this one Thanks

Just recently my ATI 9800 Video card's cooling fan decided to seperate from the card and cause my system to take a royal dump.I took it in for a repair anmd the servive fella told me my hard drive went south as well,,, "but, thats a different story"Anyway, I bught a new drive and purchased a card he recomemded.. the ATI 9250 with 256 on the memory. I need some help in changing the sound profiles in FS9.When you are in "cockpit" view the simulator plays sounds as if you were in the cockpit and hearing those sounds.When you are in "spot" view the simulator changes and plays sounds as if you were on the outside of the plane listening to those sounds.My question is can you make an adjustment or change a file so that when you have the simulator in "spot" view, the simulator plays sounds as if you were in "cockpit" view.In other words, I want the "cockpit" view sounds to play in both the "cockpit" view as well as the "spot" view.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Matthew
