I've been looking at mesh recently, mainly trying to get a reasonable understanding of what goes to make up the overall environment of FS. There appears to be a good set of files covering most of Europe by a guy called Yohann Baptiste who must have put a lot of effort into their production. I also had a look at FS Genesis. Just wondered if anyone could tell me what improvements, if any, FSG would have over the freeware offering. They both appear to be sampled at the same rate.Bud

Hi guysFirst off I want to say that this is not to bash MS, ACES or anyone else affiliated with FSX. With that out of the way, here goes my quick and basic Friday Night 20/20 story.This week, I upgraded to the standard version of FSX. Performance on my aging system was so-so. Something I liked is how the sim did not have any studders, which made the 5-8FPS out of the box fairly flyable. The detail the sim produces is just beautiful. Its updated textures and landclass make it very appealing to the simmer's eye, mine too. I will say that the 6-8FPS on the ground and 9-12FPS in the sky is improved with alot of the tweaks avalible here at avsim. The one I found the most helpf…

Hi, I trying to find some photos of the main wheel hub from a DC-10-10. I already have the DC-10-30 hub which I use for the SGA DC-10-30, however the hub for the DC-10-10 is different. Anyone know where i could find it on the web? I have already tried Airliners.netThanks,Bill

Hi all, I was flying last night from KSAN to KOAK on a Fedex DC-10-30 and all was great, until the approach, I was told to land on the visual runway 23 at Oakland Metro. I check in my FS airport directory and there was no runway 23 at oakland. Could there be something wrong with the AFCAD, or how do I resolve this issue?Thanks,Bill

Hello everyone:First off - if this is the wrong forum - feel free to move it to wherever it should be...I am thinking of building a new PC. Right now I have a 2.53 GHz with 512 MB RAM. I'm looking to go up to 2 GB of RAM with either a Intel Core Duo processor at 2.4 GHz or a Pentium D at 3.6 GHz.Anybody know if FS9 / FS10 will run well with the dual cores? Or - is it best to stick with the faster single core? i have updated my airport file for EGLL to uk 2000 egll proand now i cannot see the taxiways in the map view of the airporti could revert back to the default but it dosent show hardly any of the gates or standsso it is usless for online flightanyone know how i can get the taxiways to show againi have spent hours looking but i cannot find the answeri think it is somthing to do with afcad files but am not surei tryed getting a updaed one for egll but i cannot find a new oneany help please

1. As the title asks, is there a livery limit per plane?2. If there is, what is it?3. Is there a way around this limit?....For instance, can you create and name two folder with different names but the same air.file and model like this:.......Folder 1 Plane_USA-only-liveries...... Folder 2 Plane_Non-USA-liveriesWill FS9 see these as two different planes/plane sets if the only thing inside the folders are the texture files and the differences relating to that in the aircraft.cfg files?Thanks in advance for any responses.

Has anyone else noticed, or does anyone else feel as I am beginning to, that the forum-bsed FS community seems to involve some really strange dynamics - especially concerning version transitions, in this case from FS9-FSX?For instance, where I read a post specifically saying "I wonder if.." making reference to possible payware price reductions, are pretty much assured to garner defensive/aggressive responses along the lines of "what? We aren't [this, that, the other analogy].. This is not freeware.. it's a business..." etc. I haven't yet heard of any "demand" for price reductions (which would be an empty 'demand' anyway, wouldn't it?) and yet seemingly innocuous questions…

I've installed Lee's TCAS (File name: ilh_tcas_v4.zip) to an aircraft, and wonder if their is a tweak I can do, so that when I turn aircraft power off, the TCAS gauge turns off like all the other gauges? Any Ideas?Thanks

Whenever I start up a flight at a busy airport, a lot of AI traffic (I'm only using ProjectAI) immediately pushes back and heads off to the active runway causing a giant lineup. My lame solution is to start up the flight and increase the sime rate to 4x while sitting at the gate and preparing the flight in order to let the AI logjam thin out.Does anybody else have this problem? Hi,just downloaded the F-14D from the libray,I'm looking for some repaints for it,anyone know where I could find any.I've looked in the libray here but there doesn't seem to be that many......I've looked over at the "other site",and not many there either...Oh yea,almost forgot,is it possible to add parking spots using Afcad to the carriers package available in the libray?Thanks,Regards,Martin.

I read the review on the gauge pack from Friendly Panels (the one that includes all the pieces of a Bendix-King radio stack plus KLN90, KLN94, and Garmin 530 GPSes) and I was just curious if anyone had grabbed them, and what they thought of them. I'm going to be sticking with FS2004 long enough that a $16 or so investment for them might not be bad, the features look interesting (certainly better than the default radios that most freeware use for simplicity's sake).Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia
