I just went to Flightaware to plan a route I want to fly in FS. I thought I could decode all routes but this one stumps me: KAVP-KORD, LVZV147 LHY301047 J36 DKK FNT PMM5. I know V147 is Victor 147 to LHY which is a vor right near LVZ, but what is the 301047? On another plan from KORD-KMSP, it says PLL PLL275065. What is the 275065? Thanks. Tom

Hi there,Some freeware addon scenery's have a nice night road texture inside cities, where fictive cars drive around. You can see the headlights following the roads. Like the Belg7000 scenery from the library has it.Is there a way to make that texture general worldwide? I recently got a replacement computer for an old one that died. I installed MS Flight Simulator and for some reason I couldn't get good FPS. I mean like.. 0 FPS.I checked around and apparently its a known issue that occasionally sound cards don't like FS or something. So I uninstalled the sound card and switched to on board sound.Problems solved. So I thought.I started using VATSIM and took a different card and put it in so I could have a separate sound system to use for ATC. It worked fine for a few days and then one day it started acting the same way.. No FPS. Funny thing is that now it only happens when my Joystick is hooked up (sound card game port)Any idea's?

Hi all-Is there a way to determine if a particular aircraft is using 32 bit textures? I have a couple of aircraft that have that 'pause on loading' issue and am wondering if it's because of hi-res textures.Thanks.Mark

Hi all,Looking for a FS9 version of Christian Holmes FS2002 Configuration Manager.I use different joysticks for different planes and helicopters and I change graphics settings based on certain flights. It's a real pain to have to switch my joystick assignments and graphics settings everytime you run FS9.FS2002 Configuration Manager allowed me to switch between different FS2002.CFG files that I have saved (when flight sim exits). This makes it easy to setup the sim with different joystick configurations, default flights, graphics settings, etc. without having to go into the various flight simulator settings screens. I always see posts like 'what is your fav mil jet/ga airliner, what plane should I get' blah blah blah...we never see 'what is your favorite scenery' (well not during the time i started regularly posting here lol) so lets start one... maybe we'll find some rrealll cool sceneries we never knew about...I'll start I guessI love flightzone stuff... they are great! I have both RI and portland... they are amazing! I wish they would do South florida, but I highly doubt it because of enourmous amounts of airports they would have to design and maybe few other things... too bad I don't really fly in portland area but the scenery is sooo nice!

Hello, I remember reading and old post about someone interrested in a good GA aircraft, As I recall someone recommended the dornier and stated something along the lines of "I will open peopes eyes to what aircraft owners have to go through" or something along those lines. I am trying to track down an fps porblem that has been going on for a while now, below are my specs and you can see that I have a pretty decent system but tonight I was landing at katl on vatsim and i was getting a steady 10-9 fps with the pmdg 737, it is even worse with the feel there 737, the only time the fps is 25 or better is in a plane using the 2d cockpit. I have quite a few addon scenery's installed including south productions katl which shouldnt be very tougth on frames. I have a few ga airports, fly tampa kmia and kbos, and I have simflyers jfk las and mco and a basic kden addon which adds the new r/w. Does just having these airports installed cause a loss …

Hi there,I'not quite sure where this post fits, so here it goes ;-)I just recently formatted my aging system and I'm slowly getting up and running again. The one thing I don't remember from prior to my formatting is Winzip 10.0 (unregisterd trial for now) is extremely slow unpacking bmp's and wav's?!I don't remember it being so slow. Hello everyone.I have just installed Ultimate Terrain USA and its doing everything that the tin says. Hi all,I have Ground Environment and have been thinking about upgrading to the professional version since I will probbably stay with FS9 for awhile longer. Althougth I do like FSX I feel I can enjoy FS9 with the smooth fps, and still use all my pay ware investments. Two questions (1) Out the box with the GEPro is there an improvement over GE. In other words is it the same as GE but now allows additional tweaking and changes to ground environment, etc. (hope that makes sense). (2) is the upgrade price still available for owners of GE?Thanks Carl

Hey guys,On a whim, I installed the VFR Grand Canyon challenge meant for FSX into FS2004. Of course I had to create and place a flight plan into the flight's folder so the adventure could find it but it works..... after a fashion. It works just like a saved flight in FS2004 does now. I have no audio from the included challenge .wav files, and no "reward" when I land successfully. But, I do have the weather, etc. I can rename the HTM files and see those in FS2004 (although they are too large....Question, does anyone know what it would take to get the audio to work in FS2004?Thanks,Earl

I've had a question brewing for some time on this. :)I fly FMC-enabled ac (PMDG, LD, PSS, etc) which calculate V-speeds and such; in other cases, I often fly vintage liners which -- while not having FMCs to do the calculations -- come with great tables that allow me to get the information manually (e.g., DF727).However, I recently purchased some "lite" aircraft from Overland/Simmer's Sky (a whole range of Airbuses/Boeings) which do the job they're meant to do: provide some entertainment with great exterior visuals, but not meant to be "serious" in the way more complex aircraft addons are. Here's the glitch: none of these aircraft come with any performance charts, so calc…

The alerts sounds for "Terrain, Pull up" and "Sinkrate" are way too loud, and scare me half to death. I would like not to hear them at all. How do I disable them? I have not found any sound files, so I suspect they are tied to gauges.Thanks for you help in advance.Eric

I was eagerly awaiting FSX and have been saving up my money. After reading all the bad posts about FSX, I have decided to build a pc just for FS9. Can you guys point me in the right direction as far as the minimum system I can build to get 25-30 fps average. My current system will no longer run FS9 and the add-ons I like. I am having a new problem. A few months ago I reformatted my HDD. I am using a Win XP, Athlon XP 1.6, 512 mgs DDR Ram, 5200 GForce 256DDR Ram video card.When my neighbour helped me reformat this thing, it ended up w/my files all being on my "E Drive" instead of the "C Drive". It didn't matter at the time, and I am not sure it matters now. I only mention it because I am having a new problem. NONE of my Flight Sims will work. I reloaded FS9 which was working great prior to the reformat. Now, when I go to run it, I get dumped out of Windows and a blue screen comes up w/white writing saying that I am have a stack dump, or some such. I have never seen this before. I tried load…

I recently purchased the Level-D 767, Feel There's EMB 145, and GE Pro. I also recently upgraded to Active Sky 6.5 for the GE Pro functionalities. I'm not sure which program is doing it (if any of them), but for whatever reason, I can no longer see my kneeboard in full screen mode. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution to it? I also had the Active Camera.dll installed (but never purchased it) so it would give me a popup stating it wouldn't work away from KSEA. That also wouldn't show on top although I could hear the beep. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything like this. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Eric

I have this product which came bundled in my Meridan addon. As such, I cannot gain support for this instrument from the RXP website and they do not offer a forum.I have reviewed the entire manual and the Garmin manual itself. However I am unable to determine exactly how to do a simple thing.I want to change the map settings to display roads. I go the map settings menu and select the display ranges that I want to see these items at. However, once you have made your choices, exactly what button do you press to 'accept' these changes? Hi All.I have 2 problems with FS9, in that.1. I canot run it in anything but full screen mode, other settings wont work. I want to be able to look at serv info while flying.2. I canot turn off the on screen tips function, althow I unchecked it still works. I get all the usual lean mixture, low fuel, altitude etc. The main problem is the altitude keepe changing when I am trying to land which makes things very difficult.Any Help.Pauld :+
