Guy's I'm from the PanAm, Eastern Airlines ,People's Express and best of all National Airlines error. my question is can I change the texture of the Queen of the sky's 747-400 to a National Airlines texture and if so can someone point me to a web site that I can download this texture file with a how to file think's muchAlvinNewark N.J

Who here has built a home cockpit for flying FS9 and/or any other sim? I am about to embark on such a mission and would like to communicate with others that have been there to make it happen.My ideas are simple: 3 19" to 21" monitors, a system to break up the view (commercially available), a simple control system (my trusty Thrustmaster), a simple "box to sit in built for two", and any other gadget that might be feasible/affordable adding to realism.My Thrustmaster system is dated but I have dreams I can put it to good use.Add that to some other tips and trix and I should have an enjoyable hobby for sure.So?Dolph

I have an older AMD XP2400 based system with 1 Gig RAM and an ATI x800Pro 256 meg vid card. Mostly I fly GA - but would like to get a more complex/advanced jet which is flyable on my system. I realise that many of the very complex jets are FPS killers. Any ideas please - commercial jets could be anything from heavies down to Regionals.And also perhaps you could tell me which ones to keep away from.Thanks for any helpBarry

Hey, Everyone I was just chatting with an old buddy of mine and came across the idea of transfering imagies from google earth to FS9 and making an entire photoreal replica of the earth but is this theoretically possible?- Ryan

my god! that thing is so nice that I can't figure out how to fly it! lol it seems like a really really nice plane with lots of awesome features (such as its own joystick nws inputs) but too bad its all in russian lol :D i have enough trouble with DF727 and FE panel and such as is, so the tu-154 is pretty much unfliable for me, but still seems like a nice plane! props to whomever flies them :)I also looked at the yak-40. Awesome plane as well! too bad its sort of obsolete lol

I wanted to post a separate thread regarding my participation recently in the thread below. 24 hours has elapsed since I decided to dig into a nagging memory issue of my own spawned by my interest in the thread, which my FS9 has had for a long time, and which I had just become used to.Since my discovery that simply moving some bitmaps to where MSFS expected to find them fixed the memory issue, I've test flown MSFS for over nine hours. Memory use has stayed consistent since--the situation is so much improved that I've set up 64 megs of my 512 megs as a HD vcache, and I will probably up that even more. The cache has really improved smoothness for FS9--not fps, but simply …

Following is a condensed version of my previous post. I'm really hoping there are some ideas out there that can help me avoid a complete reinstall. Here's the symptoms:- FS2004 freezes at startup and does not completely load. This has taken on a few different forms. First, the startup froze while "Building Scenery Database" at 92%, 93%, and at 97% after adjusting features in Ultimate Terrain. Hi All,Some advice please.I have installed this great plane and have no problems with it except for the length of time the VC takes to load- maybe 30 seconds of stuttering and banging as it sorts itself out. The 2D cockpit views take a few seconds to sort themselves out the first time they load, but after that they are there instantly and I wonder why the VC isn't the same. Is it a RAM problem? or could I disable the VC? In fact I think I've read that is not an option as it's in the model file.Anyway, it's a wonderful piece of work and this is just a post for advice.Thanks.Andy.

Here's how to remove unwanted messages in FS9 like, "Wing Unfold", "overspeed", etc etcFirst you need to get hold of a utility called Resource Hacker found here:http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ Use this program to remove or rename the strings you wish to edit from the language.dll (Remember, backup your language.dll before starting this).Here's how:1. Using ResHacker.exe, open your language.dll file2. Click on "View - Find text" and type in "tailhook"3.
