I have read a lot of praise for the photoscenery portland. I wonder why because my experience with photoscenery is not the best.Got three Megascenery and two megacity titles (PNW NC SC) and problems with blurries makes them quite useless. You have to look backwards to see the textures fill in (urban in NC SC but all in PNW)In addition to that they only looks good at certain altitudes and the area of coverage is small so you soon leave them.Can really a photoscenery be a good idea. Is $35 for FlightZone 02: Portland really a good investment?

Does any one recall coming across a freeware airport that has a custom approach lighting system that actually strobes in sequence (probably created in Gmax I would assume)? Need to do some research on that and I tend to recall an addon that did just that. But with nearly 100 airports added by me thought would throw this one out to the simming community.ClutchProject 9 Dragons

Hello Since yesterday my FS9 (no I haven't installed FSX yet) looks like this. Cockpit View is messed up too. Even the XP-Desktop surface shows some graphic errors. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/161182.jpgI haven't got a clue. Any help appreciated. Thanks a lot. Tom

Hey, Everyone I recently downloaded the Boston Logan International Airport Version 2 by George Grimshaw found here at avsim which is simply amazing on par with the Flytampa scenery.Anyway im looking for new scenery to add to my collection and i was wondering if you guys know of any scenery that is on par with George Grimshaw's KBOS scenery in terms of detail? Alright, I know it's very late in the game to be having FS9 technical problems. However, because of that, I'll bet one of you out there has seen this problem and probably knows how to fix it: (Yeah, I know my landing is definitely a problem, haha - but the problem I'm trying to fix is my excellent visibility until I hit the ground) It should be soupy all the way up to, at least, the clouds...I'm not using ActiveSky or anything - that's default real-weather.Happens every time, on initial penetration of the visibility. When I do an instant replay of that landing, the vis is reset - to exist all the way up to where it needs to be.Thanks in advance,Tony

Is the Budapest 2007 from aerosoft a re-release of Lago Budapest? It kind of looks like it, at least with the photoreal surroundings.

I am about to install FS9 on my PC. I've done this before, and had no problems, but I thought I'd ask in here just the same:What is the best way to go about installing and the using FS9? I have the patch that MS put out shortly after they put FS9 on the shelf. I assume I just install the CD as it tells me and the the patch before I do anything else.Then, if I am going to do so, I install the no-CD Crack file.What do you all think about using the crack file for FS9. I mean, it's not all that hard to put CD #4 in a separate case and slip it into the CD-Rom before starting FS9, but the crack file is handy.is there a concensus of opinion on this?Thnx for taking the time to re…

Hi.First of all, i must apollagise that i even ask about FS 2002 in this part of the forum, but i guess it would fit in here best with FS 2004.Today i bought FS 2002 for the price of a pizza slice. FS2002 looks nice and is quite acceptable as a sim, even though no buttons work in VC view and i get lost in airports without the progressive taxi :() but that is an acceptable tradeoff since i can max out the graphics settings (and then some) and still get a VERY good FPS... (unlike in FSX)So, i have one slight request: If anyone knows any way i can increase the Autogen draw distance for both trees and buildings to, say, as far as the eye can see, (x4 to x12 times further) the…

After reinstalling fs9 by using a DVD back of all my addon scenery files .Fs9 would not start due to low memory even though I had plenty of memory and space on hard drive.What is Fs2004 maxium allowed scenery file added into the addon scenery folder?Thanks in advance!

Hi folks -I'm sure this issue has been discussed, but I could not for the life of me find a solution. I use:Ultimate TerrainGE Proand FSGlobal 2005 World terrain mesh.However, on almost all bodies of water near land, it seems the mesh is extending out into the water and creating mountains and hills in my lakes/rivers and coastal waters.Is there a fix for this??Thanks!Lucas

Just bought the payware freighter package Vol 1 and I wish I never did :(But this one is the worst I've ever seen man the VC and 2D panel is of really bad quality. (3d modeling and graphics)System wise it's a big laugh... but was interrested in the INS /FMS /CDU stuff.Only the models are nice but for that amount of money pfff...Graphics are really worse have to update a lot here man.Never saw such a bad payware package for a huge amount.It should actually be freeware ;-)Was looking for a nice DC10 :(Kj going to see if we can make some updates here but I don't know if it's worth the effort because wrong texture mapping of the VC...It will blowup every pixel and make it uns…

Hi,I fancy having a change of simming and want to fly a few military jets. Does anyone know of any good freeware or payware jets that I could get?I want something fairly complex as I am used to flying complex civil jets and I like a lot of systems etc to play with! My FS9 startup is a bit strange lately. It always goes through the scenery indexing even though I have not touched the Scenery.cfg file. Any idea why it does that? Hey everyone, quick question for REP Users... I applied the sun effect as well as others in the Real Environment Pro interface, and now at night my aircraft seem way too bright,like bright moon lighting. (more than I prefer) What has to be replaced in the backup folders to restore my night time appearence? I saw a sun cfg file, but I assume there has to be textures to go along with that??Thanks a bunch in advance.

Is there a revised aircraft cfg file for the Caravan? Mine flies approaches in a high nose up condition which makes it difficult to gauge how high you are. Jacking up the view causes problems once you have touched down; getting it off quickly enough to stay on course.Peter

Is there any way to make the textures in florida green all year? It is very unrealistic to see bare trees in florida.

I am posting my question here as I can not get a resonse from Ken's site. I have used FSAutoStart successfully in the past with FS9. When I uninstalled FS9,installed FSX and found I could not run it on my machine, unistalled FSX, re-installed FS9, and reinstalled the newer version of FSautoStart, the new version will not install as the new version, will not show the new start button, and I can not get it to configure FS9 as a program to start. I was able to install it correctly in my son's machine and all works fine. Does anyone have any ideas as I love the program and it does help FS9 to run better. Thanks for any advice, …

I just tried to use my Aerosoft A-10 for the first time in several months, but when I loaded the aircraft FS9 crashed. I know it has something to do with the panel because I removed the panel folder from the aircraft file and the A-10 loaded up just fine, only without a panel or gauges in the VC. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm here to find out how I can create an experimental aircraft for FS2004, by either modifying an existing model or creating from scratch. Clearly I am a noob and have only messed with changing skins and sounds. Basically I want an aircraft that flies like a rotary wing but with the maximum performance obtainable in FS. I am having a problem that seems beyond repairing other than by wiping my HDD clean and starting over. Sigh. My PC is working really sweet except I cannot use any of my Flight Sims. I disconnected my gear, so that is not the source of the problem. I have Links 2001 and it's an MS sim/game. Yet none of my MS Flight Sims will work. They'll load, but as soon as I either remove the period to "start now", a blue screen comes up w/an error message re:dumping memory stack. I immediately do a cold boot and everything is fine (except the sim). The same thing happened when I tried FU-3. So, I's one stumped sim pilot. I noticed a flight plan on FlightAware from KORD - KMSP is simply BAE EAU8. Does this mean the arrival route begins as far out as the Badger VOR in eastern Wisconsin? Thanks. Tom
