Has anybody got this yet? Any word on whether it's worth the $43?

I was thinking of a systems upgrade in about 6 months to handle a possible change to FSX. But that got me thinking, with FS9 and my current setup I got my FS9 most sliders at about midway with the usual selections of addons.Today got me thinking as I was flying the PMDG 737 and only getting around 9 - 12 fps in the seattle area (vc, no autogen, usaraods, genesis mesh, fsstart, asv, ect...) maybe I should updgrade for FS9 only?Question: is anyone here really running FS9 with high quality addons with the sliders full and getting about 20 fps min or is full sliders even with this 3 year old software also a pipedream?just curiousps, some system info:amd athlon64 3200+ 2280mh…

How does one set the heading bug on an HSI? How does one engage reverse thrust on a jet after landing? I've been flying the Jet City Aircraft B717-200 a lot lately but can't figure out how to do either of the above while flying the aircraft...

Hello group!As some may know I am new to flight simulation and recently purchased FS9 after hearing all the issues with FSX which I also purchased.I noticed that FS9 requires me (and the family) to constantly load and unload the FS9 CD #4 to run the flight simulator (unlike FSX). This has me a bit worried since I know what will eventually happen to the disk from continuious handeling. Simply stated it will become unuseable from being moved in and out of the drive.I know you might think I sould be careful and I am but I also have small grandkids who want to fly the planes. I don't believe telling them no is the answer nor is baby sitting them by changing disk for them. Thi…

Hey, Everyone As you all know about one or two year(s) ago "estimate" IFDG previewed the A340-500 but soon after they previewed it work suddenly stopped on all of there projects. Which makes me wonder what happen to IFDG did they break up? I was really looking forward to version 2.0 of there MD-11 and there A340-500 :-( - Ryan

I'm having a couple really odd problems with my MSFS install. I'm hoping a reinstall isn't necessary as I had just gotten my setup about how I liked it when some problems started showing up.First of all, screen redraw. On complex aircraft (Wilco, PSS, for example) I have an odd screen redraw issue. Clicking on a knob to turn it redraws the screen from the top only to where the knob is - and often displays now-closed windows and other general corruption behind it.I know, it sounds like a video driver problem, but I'm not sure where to look in there - I have a 6600GS 256mb, running drivers 93.71 (freshly installed). I have traffic that work fine at other military fields when I change the airports to the two in San Diego the traffic doesn't show up. I have tried to create my own AFCAD files and used some I downloaded and no luck for KNKX and KNZY. Fault finder finds no problems in the AFCAD files and if I change the airports in the traffic files to KSAN I see my military traffic there. Has to be something I am missing in the AFCAD files. All of my other downloaded AFCAD files seem to work.ANy suggestions? Anyone have KNKX and KNZY that they know work? Would you be willing to e-mail them to me? [email protected],Jim

Hi there, I have just been onto the RealAir website to check the coming soon section, and at the bottom of the description of the features etc it says "compatability: FSX". No mention of Fs9 anywhere. Are developers really going to turn there backs on all us fs9 users so soon ? or am I just over reacting.

Hi,Spending more time these days adding realistic planes to the AI. ATC wants to call them by Nxxxx rather than by name such as Baron or Beech or whatever. I think I can disassemble the .blg by using Ttools and edit the files to work better, but is that what it takes? Sounds like a lot of work...Also, I fly a modified V-22 Osprey and ATC calls me Experimental. How can I change that? My aircraft.cfg seems to have all the right stuff in the right place. I'd rather they call me "Boeing" than "Experimental" anytime.dolph

I'm on my laptop now at my wife's family's house until tuesday and I gotta do some flying... I have fs9, and few of my planes on here, so I'm gunna make an attempt to fly... question is, is there a way to make the spot view pan around like with the joystick hat? and inside the VC too...this laptop does not have a 3rd scroll button either FYI :(any ideas?

Hi All,I too have recently started to receive the bizarre frame rate problem that so many of us are experiencing. I have been to *!!* and back in order to try and resolve this very annoying issue, I originally presumed this was an MS update that was causing the problem but very quickly narrowed it down to FS.Ok so what is in the heart of FS that makes it 'tick' yes you guessed it FS9.cfg file.I have changed this so many times over the last year and had FS9 running very well on my machine. If like me you are an organizer and backer-upper, you'll have all your sceneries and aircraft and whathaveyou neatly collated somewhere outside of the FS folder.To install FS, we simply pass them over or run the installers.However, by doing that we're also cluttering up FS with all the docs, readme's, photos, pdf's, exe's and other enclosed folders with AI and flattens and whatnot, none of which need to be there once they're in their designated places.I don't know how much junk I removed from my FS aircraft and scenery folders this morning: in real terms it's probably not much (my FS folder is 43Gb) but I'm sure my HD will breathe just a little easier.Take pity on your dr…

Hi Friends,I am getting 2 to 4 frame rate per/sec when using PMDG aircrafts & 5 to 11 on using default aircrafts.Is there is way to tweak FS9 and/or MS Win XP to increase the frame rate number?I am using a Celeron {R} CPU 2.66GHz, 512MB of RAM with a Nvidia GeForce FX5200,128MB display adapter.I have tried to lower the Display settings to minimum, removing all add-on sceneries, still having the same problem.Any help please.Thanks in advance.

I've just d/l'd the KSTL scenery from the library and noticed there are two differant jetways at each gate. If anyone has the scenery could you tell me what's going on.ThanksDave F.

Hi Guys,A very strange problem has emerged out of nowhere with my version of fs9. If I Load up an aircraft my frames start at a normal 20-25fps after a few minutes everything drops to 3-7fps!! nothings changed aircraft hasn't moved no active sky loaded yet etc(I use fsautostart). Hi there, like many of u i keep having performance probs with FS9, frame rates are crap and is now doin my head in.Today I have moved the sliders to the left a bit, installed my addon aircraft with dxt3 texture repaints instead and reduced traffic to 30%.The frame rates are still crap even with all this adjustment, and feel like tearing my hair out.Anyone got any suggestions?Kind RegardsGavin Moss

Hi guys!I'm pretty (very) new to the series as my wife just bought me FS2004, not sure that FSX would run on my PCI usually fly F4AF, LOMAC & IL-2, but wanted something a bit different. Now I'm in way over my head.. pretty fun but the learning curve is steep.
