Over the past few months I've developed several sceneries so I can fly some of my favorite military aircraft (Section8 F86, MAAM B-25, Cloud9 F4E and many others) from authentic period airfields and using period AI traffic. I used Instant Scenery, AFX, HeliTraffic and other simple tools. All scenery objects and AI aircraft are from freeware sources but I just don't want to engage in useless confrontations with some of the copyright trolls on here so I'm not uploading them. Hi! I recently upgraded my PC with a new video card (Gigabyte HD 7750), which generally works fine. But, scenery textures sometimes come out flickering; airport textures, buildings, etc. I don't recall having this problem before, when I had older and less advanced components in my PC. So, any idea what could be wrong; my settings in the video card? My FS2004 setup? Grateful for help and advice. Thanks in advance. Hans Hermansson Sweden

Hello there, unfortunately the old topic for that problem is older than 180 days so I had to open a new one... I recently bought the scenery "Samsoft Shanghai Night & Day" for FS2004 at Simmarket. I decided to do so because I also have the "Sky of Taipei" and the "The very Singapore"-sceneries installed from Samsoft and I like both of them pretty much also I know these sceneries are nowadays...well, somewhat "oldfashioned". Now after installation there's a problem showing up at ZSPD, Shanghai Pudong Intl airport: it has no gate-fingers. Does anyone know of software that will batch resize extended bitmaps, without the need to convert them first? At the moment, I can only use DXTBmp (or convimx) and then resize using Photoshop, before converting back to an extended BMP file, which is going to take SO long, one by one! (The weak link is Photoshop, which renames them all to 'norm.bmp', so I have to manually rename each file back to what it should be - I am not sure I have the patience!). Would need to be freeware or very cheap as this is probably a one-off job - changing hundreds of ground texture bitmaps from 1024x1024 to 512x512.. Many thanks, Martin

Well, actually my laptop. When I travel (as I am away for up to two years at a time, as now) I take FS9 with me on a Dell XPS M1730. Out of date of course now, but it runs FS9 pretty well. I have WinXP x64 as the O/S. My problem is that when FS9 is running, moving the mouse about the screen, especially (but not only) when other windows are open, causes everything to lock up for about 10 seconds. The mouse freezes, as does FS9 and anything else that is open. I tried using Process Monitor to see what is happening (that also freezes up for the duration), but when I scroll back to the exact time the lock-up occurred, there is nothing out of the ordinary to see there. …

As title says. ie, Paphos in Cyprus aircraft using R/W 29 always approach over the sea and not over the land. In FS9 the opposite happens always over the land. Is there anyway that you can change this in FS9 so that AI approach in a direction that you want. Steve

Probably going to see me a lot here and there in the next few weeks as I am getting FS9 up and running on my new big rig (unless I am able to locate the right threads before needing to post myself). Which, for this post, I can't find. I just got defaults on FS9 loaded. Just did a couple of default start ups at KSEA. Still have not installed FS9.1 patch yet. However, I was reviewing Nick's FS9 tweaks tonight and noticed that he has items listed on his which are simply not shown on my FS9.cfg. It sometimes happens that after I pass transition altitude and switch to STD pressure, 29.92, ATC (and the onscreen information too, in red at the top of the screen) do not seem to take account of this. So when I am at cruise altitude, I am, according to ATC, several hundred feet (depending on the actual value of the QNH of course) off my assigned altitude. It is only corrected when I switch back to the below-TA QNH from the STD pressure I had set after FL180 (or whatever). Is this due to something I do wrong when I set up my flight? Hello. I am a FS9 user and have been a flight simmer since the first Microsoft Flight Simulator came out. I have enjoyed using FS9, even though I have a copy of FSX which I only used one time when it first came out. Over the years I have loaded my flight sim with everything available including the original Ultimate Traffic software. Much later I noticed that the textures of my AI traffic planes would be gray and would take a while to "paint". The scenery textures would behave the same way. I was doing a flight from Toronto Pearson intl to Ottawa MacDonald–Cartier International Airport it said the expected fuel burn was 1800 liters, I put in 5000 and I ran out of fuel just before landing??? it makes no scene in the taxi I used almost 500 liters!

Hello. I discovered today that I apparently have an issue with one or more airline callsigns in at least one of my flight plans. The problem is, I don't know which plan or aircraft(s) it is and I can't find it. When ATC and the aircraft are communicating with each other instead of saying "United 123", for example, it only says "123". Does anyone know of an easy way to track this down? I thought maybe there was a utility out there that might somehow check for this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I have recently re-installed FS9 again and was wondering if anyone using Windows 8.1 has successfully got the I-fly 737 or new 747 working.

Lisbon LPPT was my home airport for a short while but it wasnt till I moved south to LPFR that I started really paying attention to airplanes. Two years later I bought my first pc and discovered FS. Anyway ...... to get to the point! ..... Yesterday, three years after its release, I found an unofficial freeware extension to Aerosofts FS9 LPPT that adds T2 and T3 with APIS parking, new taxiways and some extra raods for internal traffic. Hi guys , I just downloaded the PA A380 and vasfmc, also I bought an new AIRAC, I installed everything, but when I select the PA A380 with vasfmc gauges and go to the VC all screens except the FMC Screen are black. So no PDF, no ND,... just the vasfmc works. Could anyone out there help me , because I really want to the fly this bird. :(

Hello, as someone's who read my topic <<How to: PSS 777 and Posky Merge ?>> may know, I'm working on a PSS 777 / Posky Merge. Today I found another merge in the avsim library who works fine. But I have a problem. The Posky Website does not exist anymore. But I need some files from there; especially the model files (.mdl). Hello all Simmers, I have the PSS 777 from Just Flight and I downloaded the merge from the topic here in the forum 'NEW! POSKY/SkySpirit-PSS Boeing 777-200ER Merge Packages!'. I downloaded all the three packages (engine variants). I copied the folder Flight Simulator 9 of both three merges into my Flight Simulator 9 folder. Windows has integrate it and I can load all the aircrafts of the merge. But how to get the virtual cockpit in this aircraft? There is only the 2D Panel from the original PSS 777 and the good looking new Posky 777external model. Or is it even possible to get the virtual cockpit in it? when ever im flying it seems really hard to get the spot view to stop moving. is there any way to make it like the locked spot in fsx?
