I installed Jon Patch's and Holger Sandmann's Victoria Plus scenery for FS9 (vicenh06.zip) and when I am at the Camel Point Heliport my sim crashes at dusk and dawn. I have Don Grovestine's CYYJ scenery installed and I don't have any crashes at the airport at anytime. I haven't tried any other spots in the scenery. I noticed the sim crashes at Terrain 28% when loading. What could be causing this?? Edit: I found a forum for the scenery (http://forums.simflight.com) and it had a sticky there with known problems and the crash at dusk and dawn is mentioned. It gave a link to download a file to fix the crashes, but the link is broken. The file was named HS_trails_LM.bmp.…

I just came across this, a short documentary clip form Discovery Wings highlighting some of the development process for FS9, specifically the aircraft. It isn't very long or detailed (it seems like just a quick 3 minute preview for a longer show), but is interesting nonetheless. If anyone has a link to the full documentary, if there is one, it would be great if they could share it.

I really like what Vector has done for Winter depiction...that of frozen lakes. Is there any program released for FS9, that also creates this? I have googled...but to no avail. I would have thought that Zinertek would have included this capability in the Advanced Water product. Perhaps, though, you can't... Wouldn't it be merely a swap out of a blue water graphic for the ice one?!?!?

Why can't FS9 have road traffic vectored to such programs like Ultimate Terrain and such? Why can FSX run animation, but FS9 can not. Is it a hard code barrier? Just wondering....

Hi all, I had active Camera & it interfered with my 3rd party stuff such as EZ Scenery & now I have "Walk & Follow" with is brilliant,BUT when in external mode when I zoom in too close to my aircraft it essentially disappears, is there any solution to any of the above? So Active Camera interferes with addon scenery & aircraft & walk and follow will let you get very close but not close enough. Thanks.

Hi avsim, So I was trying this new texture, can't paste a link here I don't know why, so just type in the library search "md11 euro" as in flight simulator 2004 - ai aircraft I installed the texture correctly and assigned a fp for it but it never shows up at the airport. I used the DXT3 folder textures. I really wonder what is the problem, I did exactly right everything I can think of while installing base files and textures and flight plan. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I was flying (or trying to!) an iFDG a320-200 (merged with a PSS '3xx' airbus panel) and was having some issues with excessive disc activity and consequent unresponsive PC. I had a look in Process monitor and found thousands upon thousands of entries (seemingly unending) as per the screenshot, here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/martinlest/Fx.jpg What part of FS9 is trying to open these files? The shockwave (is that payware?) files are not on my PC as far as I can find, and are not listed in the aircraft.cfg or .air file. Hello Sim Friends .... Recently I purchased an HP Laptop that uses Windows 8.1 Pro and that runs an I7-4700MQ processor with an NVidia GT740M and 16 gigs of memory. I was looking forward to running FS9 smoothly. Two problems ... one minor ... the other major. 1) MINOR ISSUE: I have a black screen where the 3D aircraft selection should appear. I searched and others have had a similar problem but I was not able to locate a fix. 2) MAJOR ISSUE: ALL and I repeat ALL ... with no differences according to speed or distance ... I am trying to install directx 9.0c to solve an issue with the TM737 - fs2audio.dll won't load. After installation, the dxdiag reports my dx version as 11 (running 7x64). Is this correct? How do I know if dx9.0c is loaded? Regards Trevor

2 things if I may. Firstly, when at 31000 ft, the scenery in front of me in the distance is a blur and only focuses when I get nearer to it. Is thee some adjustment I can make, config maybe? Secondly, where in the programme files can I find the scenery lists? Default Terrain, Default scenery, Propellor Objects et etc. I have been away from FS9 for a few years and am a bit ring rusty. hey guyzz can you tell me the names of payware to make my flight simulator 2004 or fs9 more realistic .......for examples real pushback textures, flight catering services, fuel trucks baggage conveyor etc etc .. plz help..i had flight simulator x but unfortunately its cd got corrupted some files got missing .. so upgrading to fsx is not a preferred choice for me as my parents will kill me if i bought second one....

I was wondering if anyone has purchased the new VIRTUALCOL Dash-8 and if so, what do they think of it? I have the JF Dash-8 but that is very dated. I also have the Majestic Dash-8 for FS9 - in some ways it is very good but graphics (especially VC) are not to current standards and also it isn't compatible with GoFlight modules. Hello If my flight is going to take about three hours, should I download three hours of archived weather for Asky 6.5 I used to do this but have recently taken to just downloading 1hr (its quicker ,and I cant see any difference or advantage in downloading three. ) andy

The (Avsim) Activesky forum seems dead ...so figure I'd post here instead. For anyone using Activesky(any version) for FS9...having any trouble getting upper-level winds to be anywhere close to real current/forecast conditions? Last few days forecasts through the middle of the US ADDS has shown winds at upper altitudes over 100kts, mostly westerly. I am still using an older version of Activesky(2004), but up until now it has been pretty accurate with downloading/installing current/forecast winds....now the downloaded data file(while still accurate with airport conditions)are way off with winds aloft. Hi Guys I have the BA paint for the aia E190 - but can't locate one for the aia E170. Peter - you very kindly helped re the Aer Lingus paints - but I think we'll have no joy here - have searched everywhere, to no avail. Just making this post in the last hope that someone may have a link. I fly within the UK and Ireland ( to all airfields with icao codes of EG** and EI** ) and as such, I am limiting my ai to aircraft and airlines which have their departures and arrivals within my flying area. Would like to know how to increase engine power in the aircraft config file. The aircraft i want to increase power on is a A321-200. I'm having issues with only being able to climb at about 1000 ft a min and as low as 500 the higher i get and i'm not as cruise level. Thanks for the help everyone. I have just re-installed FS2004 onto my new computer which uses Windows 8.1. I am trying to re-install the Air New Zealand livery for my PMDG 737 which I got from projectopensky some years back. However I know I am struggling with Windows File Explorer with 8.1 but I can’t find the Aircraft Config file where it lists all of the liveries something like this:- [fltsim.xx] title=Air New Zealand 737-719 sim=B737-700 model=AS panel= sound= texture=anz etc etc Could someone remind me where this file in located in the FS2004 file structure please ?

Hi guys, So I've gone to the project Airbus website and downloaded the A380 base package for FS9. I followed the direction within the read me file. Installed a livery to use the aircraft. I am trying to integrate vasFMC for use with this addon. There's the standalone version and the gauge version of vasFMC. I've downloaded the gauge version and pointed the installer to my FS9 directory, loaded the aircraft and I get the: "Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. I am flying the Project Airbus a380 at the moment - and it flies pretty nicely, with a smart VC panel and all.. The only thing (and this is mentioned in several threads) is that it seems a little underpowered, even given its size and weight. OK, when climbing above FL300 I expect to climb slowly to maintain speed, but even between 10,000 and 20,000, I cannot get the climb rate much above 1500ft/min without the autothrottle being unable to maintain my inputted IAS (around 290 KIAS above 10,000'). If I shut down the ATH and apply manual thrust, things are better. Overall though there's less climb power than I am used to with FS9 airbuses, (but maybe that's more like the…
