What is it I would need to adjust in the 'aircraft.cfg' to get more lift when taking off. My DC-10 needs to a little boost to get off the ground on long flights with heavy fuel. Sometimes the wheels don't leave the runway in time and sometimes we go into a stall. Would I adjust 'flaps lift' or what? I don't like to mess with the aircraft cfg so any help is appreciated.

Hi all I cannot get any of the scenery or textures from georges awesome KBOS scenery to properly display in FS9?windows vista.....all I get showing are the default bldgs and the runways textures show up in white....also i gety litle tiny triangles all over the place....any ideas as to what is going on??

Hiya,I've been flight simming for a few months now. I'm reasonably competent at controlling a Cessna 172, and I've been concentrating on learning the intricacies of navigation, flying the airways etc. I think the next direction I want to go in is experimenting with online flying. What have been peoples experiences as a newby with this? I'm aware of VATSIM, but not really of the other options. What are they and how do they compare with VATSIM in terms of how daunting they are and how helpful they find other users? Hello all,Have a niggler that I've been trying to find out about, basically where does the ils freq of a rwy at an airport come from? My understanding is that the freq used is taken by the navdata from the a/c, in my case I'm using flight1's ATR, so we'll say if I'm inbound ils rwy 28 at EIDW then the freq I put into the afds will be the freq listed in the navdata of the atr in this case 111.350. Obviously the default freq (in this case rwy 28 EIDW is 108.9 i think) is overrided by the fms data of the a/c? However what if the airport is an addon airport? Do addon airports dictate the freq or is it always the a/c?. Anyone make it clearer?George

Hi simmers, Just been going through the latest post on this forum, and one post asked if the fs update (fs2004 9.1 patch had been dropped by MS) just out of curiosity I tried the link given by another poster and it was there....But when I checked my FS version as advised by the post, it was 9.0 (Shock horror....). I thought I had upgraded years ago, Ive been using FS2004 without the 9.1 patch since it came out, without knowing it! But I've haven't found anything wrong with it, I've been adding to it..for years, and i must say it's works realy great, with high FPS rates, no CTD, I've replaced all the things that Microsoft left out with third party products...ple…

Hi there,I installed an AFCAD file for an addon an AFCAD 2.21 shows the file on layer 66 with a greyed out stock airport file on layer 7.Interestingly FS9 seems to ignore the fact, that the AFCAD file is actually in the addon scenery/scenery folder which should in theory override every other afcad.Is there some kind of cache which has to be emptied beforehand? Or is there a way to get rid of the stock airport? (I tried deleting the AP89blablabla.bgl file from the scenery/eurw/scenery folder, but flightsim still positions my aircraft on the same weird spot off the runway - therefore I believe there is a cache problem).If anyone knows the solution i would be grateful.Thanks…

I'm having an usual problem with my FS9 installation.When in 2D cockpit, I have the main panel view, but nothing else. I have no left, right, up, back, etc. The scenery appears but it's like you're standing in air. There are no parts of the aircraft showing. This happens on any aircraft where those views are a function of the VC. To clarify, some aircraft have .bmp's that exist as those windows. On those planes, I have a view. Examples are the FSD Commander and the Flight1 Cessna 310. The VC works okay on everything and all other views are okay. the planes fly normally. I do have FSX with SP1 installed also and it works fine. I am using a CH Products yoke. I have also tri…

Hi All,When I start up a saved flight in my huge FS9, the progress slider in the load up window begins with: "Loading scenery objects", then "Loading terrain" etc. But when "Loading terrain" commences my FS9 very often (but not always) freezes up at between about 9 and 15%. The Windows task manager then states that FS9 "is not responding" leaving only one way out and that is to "End the Task" and fire up FS9 again. Sometimes the same saved flight then starts up normally but sometimes it even takes three or four goes before I can finally fly normally.I have used FILEMON to try and see what's wrong during such a flight start up process and I see very many "Not found" textur…

HiGuys, I recently purchased the track IR4 and this has got to be the Most amazing add on i have bought in my Ten+ years of simming! Hi,Is there a way (or application) to make aircraft invisible in the aircraft selection list?Recently I installed dozens of AI and Online aircraft, and now I have to wait 30+ sec before the list is populated.

I just started having this problem with FS9. For some reason some of my planes will load the textures and then all of a sudden the textures vanish and I am unable to get them to load again. I did a search, but I can't find a solution. Hello, I hope someone will be able to help me.Suddenly (maybe after some new a/c installation) my mouse changed in VC. Before I could use the wheel to command knobs and switches in the cockpit, now when I use the wheel i just get zoom in or zoom out and I cannot command the switches anymore.Does someone know how to reset the mouse at it was before?Many thanks.Alberto

Well from what I read over at the FSX forum it sounds like a bust to me. LDS better think twice regarding their 757 pkg.I have FSX and installed it pre and post SP1 and both times was uninstalled.I am loving FS9 just added the MD2006. I really hope PMDG and LDS rethink their future products for FS9 as I am staying put.My system is on the upper end and FS9 maxed out flies great.Andy

Hi Folks:I have been away from flying around Hawaii for some time and decided to take a spin around the islands. Looks like many of the shorelines are off a bit. I saw some buildings in the water and it looked like the end of one of the runways at the Barber's Point NAS was in the water. I am using UT USA and some freeware FSG mesh.Are there any fixes for these issues or is it basically a trial and error situation?Thanks!Airbus

As the title suggests, how do I remove default AI traffic from FS2004? Would be useful if there were distinctions too, like removing Airline traffic or GA traffic.

Anyways I bought this aircraft and have really enjoyed flying it. I'm making some videos to post on youtube. The videos will have alot of exterior shots and all I want is the engine sounds. Not the friggin internal cockpit sounds like "miminums" or 500 400 or 300. I do I shut those crew sounds off? I've basically turned all of the sound settings to zero in FS9 and you can still here these sounds. Its annoying lol.Lee Alexander

Hi!couple of days ago, I tried to start FS2004, and got this error telling me my user is restricted thus the sim will not run.I went to control panel, checked my user status, and my user is showing in administation mode, i also get this problem when trying to recive E-Mails with outlook.To switch a user in order to start the sim is a real pain, can someone please help me with this annoying problem?i attached a picture to show you guys the problem i have.

If you can...load up FS9 or FSX and practise a few touch and go's after checking the current wind speed and direction. Make sure you use Real Weather (FS9 or FSX) or an add-on weather engine.It's really blowing over the island today and you'll get in great cross-wind landing practise. Visibility is 20 miles and greater. Do a fly-over of the Grand Hotel. :)Just landed, and what a wild ride down to the numbers with the Baron! Great fun and education.Mitch

hi allgot a new 6600C2C with a 8800GTS card and fs9 is smooth as butter !in heaving weather and all sliders maxed, except for 3D clouds i am getting 25-35 fps using the PMDG 737 aircaft!with all the problems going on with FSX i am really reluctant to install FSX on my 'virgin' system, :-lol and everything is availabe for FS9 so i dont intend to jump to FSX perhaps in 12 months time i will consider it.
