I just took a turbo-prop from Detroit, to Chicago's Midway runway 31C. It was snowing quite heavily on the approach and I had a couple of side and down drafts that took hold of the aircraft about 900 feet above the runway threshold. Made for a challenging landing on top of low visibility. Another fine FS9 'moment'! :)Chicago is having some weather today, that's for sure!

Hi, I keep getting this error when loading my 727 aircrafts. I installed all the gauges from my external HD and put them back in where the should be. All my other panels work fine, for the exception of my 727s.Another issue Im having is my computer would lock up and I have to reboot once in a while when I access my aircrafts from the library. The default cessna would be rotating and the minute I choose Boeing for example, it would lock up. Hi,somehow I can't figure out how to intercept the ILS with this aircraft.I enter the right ILS frequency into NAV2, but I cannot activate the localizer.If I hit the APPR button, NAV will also be activated, but no LOC appears on the PFD.LOC2 comes up in green.Can somebody please give me hint what I'm doing wrong?Regards,

Hello all,I was wondering if anyone had an idea where I could add military AI traffic to some military bases without having get involved in putting together flightplans, afcads and such. I am using Ultimate traffic for the airliner birds and GA for the smaller guys.I am not afforded alot of sim time and want to use it for flying instead of AI building and thought maybe there might be an easier way to enjoy military AI trafficThanks for all the responses and as alwaysFly Safe

Hi everyone, I am currently using v-route to take out my routes I want to fly, but I am not fully satisfied with it, 1 if 2 routes work, short of routes sometimes, like yesterday, I wanted to fly to Acapulco, but couldn't find any routes, so any suggestion?, would be good if the program also could export the fligtplan so I just have to load it the fmc after.

Hi all,I've just recently encountered an ERROR problem with some gauges, making it not possible to load a number of aircraft, and wonder if someone could offer a suggestion...I've had most of these planes quite a while and there were no problems until a few days ago when I downloaded a few aircraft-- a POSKY CRJ and-- a couple VISTALINERS repaints..that seems to be when the problems started..The ERROR reads-- "Unable to load some aircraft or software. You may continue using FS but this aircraft or software will be disabled." Hello all,I was wondering if there is a way of getting FS9 ATC to stop assigning Runway 27 for landings at Princess Juliana Airport. I have never seen an airliner land on that runway, and for good reason. I tried closing the runway for landings using the AFCAD program, but that didn't seem to work. I am running FS2004 and have been enjoying this wonderful plane for quite a while when a problem of changing views occurred so in the end I decided to unistall then re install the plane. My problems started when I used control program... add/remove programs and deleted the cheyenne... however it remained in the list of airplanes in the FS2004 menu so I manually uninstalled the files in the aircraft folder... Now that I have re installed from the original installer the plane is not showing up in the list and I wonder if I have not deleted a file that I should have first time round... is there other files you need to delete when you manually unistall an aircraft and also is…

Overland's work is quite nice but only covers a small area around the airport. For me, the visuals into the approach is a large part of the FS experience. Hi all, In the past I have always been a big fan of short haul flights from the UK mainly across Europe. I am now thinking of doing some long haul flights (from the UK from LHR (Heathrow) and LGW (Gatwick). I was looking for recommendations for aircraft and destinations. At the moment I have thought that the 777 would be a good aircraft to base on. Does anyone have any good recommendations for the 777 as freeware aircraft. I use the IFDG airbus allot for short haul flights and have the cockpit and sound modified to make the aircraft as real as possible.I am also stuck with destinations at the moment as there are so many to choose from! Hi all,Since I had my new PC just before x-mas I have been trying to get it the way I like flying, which has meant installing loads of AI and some scenery. I base my flights mainly from LHR and LGW and I have scenery for both and have plenty of AI traffic. Now that I have installed a fair few airlines to make it as realistic as possible the scenery and AI have meant my frame rates have taked a bit of a tumble. Normally on my new PC I am getting in excess of 28FPS (capped at 28) but not at LHR and LGW anyone. For example here I am getting around 20, which is OK but could be better? Just wondered if anyone had any tips for improving the situation without removing the AI or …

This is one question I've never seen answered in any addon, or in FS itself, so maybe someone knows the answer. Upon arriving at a totally closed up airliner, how do the crew gain first access - get the steps down, door open, etc. Is there some kind of access hatch where a key is inserted, or a keypad and combination to get the door open (or stairs down in a 737)? The closest I've come is the PMDG 737 stairs and door, but how is it done on the real thing? Thanks. Tom

Please make recommendations. I had a look at the Eaglesoft CJ1 and was very impressd by the exterior model and much less impressed with the panel. I'm looking for a cockpit with crisp photoreal textures. Also would like a functional FMC and lots of systems modeled.I don't know if such a jet exists for FS9, but would appreciate recommendations.Thanks,Adam

I got the iFly 747-400 a while back, and I've started getting back into heavies, but I was wondering:What's with the avionics on this thing? The first few times I've started this baby up, the avionics have come on, and I've been able to make a nice flight in this rather good (but my god, sensitive) aircraft. 99% of the time the avionics don't come on at all, so there's no PFD and no MFD readings. The FMC also won't function properly.The only way to get around this is to select the start-up mode to "NORMAL" on the FMC, but I'm a fan of the full start up procedures, so this obviously lacks depth and isn't very immersive at all.Is this panel full of bugs, or is there somethi…

Hi everybody! I remember in spring 2007 when I was looking up flights to Lhasa, China Orbitz showed an Air China Flight with an A330-200. Do they still operate the A330-200 from Beijing to Lhasa? I want to do this route on FS 2004 but on the Air China website their schedule says JET for a few of their flights but I'm still confused if they use the A330-200 on this route. Please help me with this and reply.

I stumbled across these while looking through the old FT forums. there are 2 tweaks, one for the airfile (you'll need a program called "Aired")and one for the autopilot. After I edited the airfile and config. I noticed a marked improvement in the aircraft. It's now possible to do a flaps 1 approach and the airplane holds "S" speed nicely.
