I've been searching for an answer to this question for the last couple of days now and I have yet to find a real explanation of what WideFS actually does, it's purpose, so to speak. I've searched forums and google, peter dowsons's webpage, etc. Can someone explain to me what the purpose of WideFS is?

I have the carenado mooney and noticed that there is no sound when the landing gear is extended.I then looked at the carenado sound folder and saw a file for gear down was missing.This file is listed in the sound cfg but its not in the sound folder.Has anyone else noted this?Dimitri.

Hey all...I've been messing around with my Captain Sim C-130, and have a question about the condition levers. If I click the condition levers forward to "run" as the manual (and tutorials I've found) state, the prop RPM just goes to 100% once I put any throttle on it, and stays there, so there's no rotating prop animation. Is this the normal setting for the C-130, just to leave the prop RPM at 100% through all parts of a flight?Also, does anyone have any ideas about typical power settings (ITT, fuel flow, etc.) for climb and cruise? This scenery addon is just fantastic! I've wanted a good, frame-rate-friendly Kai Tak for a long time and this is it! My only wish is that there was a smoother transition between ATC and getting established on the localizer for the RWY 13 approach. If I follow ATC, I seem to get locked on the wrong localizer (perhaps something left over from VHHH before the 9Dragons install?) and get dumped into the bay near the VHHH construction site. However, if I fly my own pattern and come right over the top of the VHHH site, I will get locked on the correct localizer and the ILS approach to VHHX will be perfect. Is there any way to adjust this so I can get steered the right way from …

Using fs9. KLAS to KDEN w/ PIC737..Approaching KDEN, FSatc clears me to instrument app R16. The FMC shows approaches th R16R and L, but no R16. I check FS Map and it shows a R16. What's up? and how can I fix.Appreciate some helpDick ReaMCA372

I'm not sure if this is something with the aircraft or the separate panel I installed, so I'm hoping someone may have dealt with this before. On my (fantastic) Vistaliners 727-200, the sound will sometimes drop out as I cycle through views...with the sound being the loudest at the REAR_RIGHT view and icrimentally getting quieter as I cycle around to the forward view and it then goes completely silent at REAR_LEFT. Any ideas? Incidentally, like most of my addon aircraft, I have adjusted my REAR-RIGHT and REAR_LEFT views to be behind-the-wing passenger views. I have not noticed this problem in any other aircraft I have, however.

Hi GuysHad my 9Dragons working perfectly, but after a problem with something else, i had to reistall FS9.This time i've obviously done something very simple, very wrong..... I don't have VHHX appearing in my PMDG FMC data any more.I've put the PMDG file in the correct location. Is there anything else that can cause this?Thanks

Suddenly HSI Heading Indicators of all my installed aircraft start showing true heading instead of magnetic heading. For instance, lined up rwy 16L on KSEA heading indicator shows 180 instead of 160. What am I doing wrong?

I was flying around washington state at night when I noticed that the trees are all white and really stand out in the dark. I would have hit one of the hills due to ATC's improper altitude assignment but because the trees are so obvious I knew I was descending too low. While it saved my virtual life I find it very unrealistic. I am using the very popular reduced autogen texture pack in the library. I can't think of any other custom texture in my FS9 that would matter in this situation. Is this simply because it's winter season? There are a couple of hangar buildings at my default airport that I would like to use in adding scenery to another airport. They are a perfect match for the other airport. Can't see them listed or in thumbnail form when I use Instant Scenery and check off the Default and Add-On boxes to view objects. I open IS in the airport with the hangars in question, but can't see any of them. QUESTION: where are these "came with the program" structure/objects hiding? Can I get to them and add them to another airport? If so, how do I do that? Is it even possible, or am I limited to using add-on objects to flesh out the airport structures?? JonBAnother :-newbie

Just wondering if there is any way to cure the jerking with head latency caused in the internal pilot view when the FPS is over 25FPS. I love the latency feature, but that extra 5FPS just makes the sim so much more smooth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to post this at the FSG forums, but there's not that much action there. Thought I'd get some feedback from others that might be in the same situation.I was thinking of doing a full FS9 re-install just to get my sceneries and aircraft in a better order and discard the things I'm not using. However, I've been thinking of doing a FULL install of ALL the FSG mesh packages, including the "buffer" meshes.Let me preface this by saying that I've had them all installed before, albeit using the "standard" method of installation where all the FSG meshes are simply poured into a single scenery folder (/World/Scenery) I believe. Hello all,I just did a fresh install of FSX with all my add-ons (FS Genesis, UTX, GEX, FEX, ASX) and now I would like to install FS9.Is this something that is going to cause issues for my FSX install and/or adversely affect the FS9 install I will be attempting? With howe long this takes, I would hate to bork something up.I will be installing FS Genesis, UT (nned to buy this one), GE PRO, FE, and AS 6.5 for the FS9 install.Thanks!
