I decided to try for a little more realism tonight on a flight between KDEN and KBOS so I went to flightaware.com and tried to reenact a r/w United flight (UAL354) that had landed a couple hours earlier. The flight plan shown on the flightaware page was as follows:PLAIN4 MCK J44 LNK DSM ELX HAAKK SOSIC JHW J82 ALB GDM3I did OK with finding the plates for the PLAIN4.MCK departure and ALB.GDM3 arrival and set out to export a .pln in FSnav. I'm using the last freeware AIRAC (0608 I think) so maybe that's my problem, but I couldn't find HAAKK or SOSIC which I assume are intersections. I wound up leaving them out and flying direct from ELX to JHW which I doubt made much differ…

Hello AllIf you make a flight without using the Default ATC can you still use the ILS? at your destination airport I am sure when i have tried(When NOT using the default ATC ) i would find myself veering of route and not picking up the ILS,Localiser etcWhen i fly with ATC there are no problems.cheers AndyPS is there something built into FS9 whereby you can only use the ILS landing system when you have been allocated a runway bye the default ATC controller ?

I installed Vistaliners 727 and some of the add-on texture aircraft downloads are not showing up when I install, but first let me say that I have done this alot over a period of years so I know how to add aircraft to an existing file. I have check the cfg file and the name texture=delta against the the texture folder which says "texture=delta", I also install EM-120 and have got the same problems with some of the aircraft. I have check and recheck the editing of the cfg file to be sure it's right and haven't found a problem, except for the name of the aircraft it's all about the same. I run Vista Home Edition.Any help would be appreicated, I've run out of ideas.Thanks,…

Hey guys,I recently downloaded the 9 Dragons Kaitak scenery. It is amazing and I have an amazing time flying the 744 there. When I tried to add Kaitak to the Level-D 767 navdata, I run into problems. Following the instructions posted here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...2&mesg_id=36672(Essentially it is the same procedure as for the PMDG 744)So I follow all the instructions, adding the data to the files. But when I start FS and load up the 767 I try to enter VHHX and get a message "NOT IN DATABASE". The procedure worked fine the 744 but not for the Level-D 767.Anyone have any ideas to help out? Hi Folks,I am looking for input on FS9 related sceneries for air races and anything connected to aerobatics.There used to be Aerobatics Championships some time ago, which seem to have died. I have found one scenery for some 2005 Air Races (Red Bull Event)Can someone point me somewhere, where people with an interest in FS9 Aerobatics (be it group flights, competitions, or generally interested parties) gather?Thanks!

Flying from NFFN to PHNL I got halfway there and then the dreaded "Micosoft Flight Simulator has encountered and error...." and then down she goes. This happened a couple of weeks ago in another area. In checking the 'Event Viewer', it proves to be useless. Only gives me the error # but has no information. Anyone else encounter this or knows what the deal is?Thanks

Does anyone have the effect file namedfx_AI_ship_smoke_cargo1 ??I downloaded a ship from another site which calls for this effect but it was not included in the package.To make matters worse, the author was not identified nor is there any contact info so I cannot ask him or her.I am hoping someone has this effect and can e-mail it to me.

Hello. Having a problem I never had before.When trying to run sim, it will start for about a second and then shut down. With my limited knowledge, I don't know how to fix nor do I know what cause this. I had'nt run sim. for a couple of weeks. Have not updated or added or changed anything. Now this is problem.I do see an fs9 error in regards to:file:vinacore.dllfile:vimasnd.dllI don't know if this is the problem causing this.I appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

Greetings all,I have uninstalled FS9, I am starting over with a clean slate.Trouble is I am having trouble getting that slate clean.I search for "fs9" in Windows Vista search field and I have 247 items remaining of addon files.(gauge,PDF,etc.)I can't delete them whatever I do.I have tried rebooting, various freeware programs, renaming the files, and tried safe mode but can't find the files in safe mode.I have deleted my temp files also.The message I get is "the file or folder no longer exsists or has been moved or deleted.Spent many hours messing with it, just want to get back to flying.Any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!ThanksMatt

Another thread has me scratching my head...1. My default situation, the Cessna at Seattle, is unchanged, but it is not my 'default flight' - 'previous flight' is.2. I fly all manner of complex pay and freeware aircraft by simply ensuring that I start and end every session with a a default a/c, usually the cessna. It's always spinning in 'create a flight' when I first load up, and always reselected where I eventually park, even if it was the 744 at EDDF 10 hours after I took off. Next time I start, it's in the cessna at EDDF, gate whatever.I have NEVER experienced anomalous issues this way, whether it be PMDG, PSS, LDS, Aeroworx, whatever.So what is this again about 'defau…

I just cruised over Pearl Harbor in FS9 and could not find the Arizona Memorial? I thought I remembered seeing it in FS2002. Am I missing something? The only scenery upgrading I did was FS Genesis terrain and landclass. Thanks. Tom

Hi allYesterday I got and tried an idea to spare some loading power.I always start with the default Flight, though moved far away from Seattle or Chicage to a little remote place with very sparse scenery.I use the C-172 as startup Aircraft.In the Aircraft Folder I made a copy of the Panel, Sound and a texture Folder, replaced these copies in the same Folder and renamed them to Panel.none, Sound.none and Texture.none.Next step was to delete all files within these 3 copied Folders.Last step was to edit the Aircraft.cfg file. I copied the [Flightsim.0] part to the top of the file and made the steps to point at the 3 new empty Folders. I named the variation "No nothing", and …

Hi everyone,I just installed FS2004 a few days ago, but I'm pretty sure something's wrong with my game. I've set the "Traffic" setting to 100% and checked both the "Airlines" and "General Aviation" boxes, but I've yet to see a single plane (other than mine, of course) in the sky(or airports, for that matter)!I've already reinstalled the game, and still have the same problem.I'm guessing I'm missing a file or something. HelloI am having some trouble with AI Seperator on my new PC. I have just downloaded and extracted AI seperator but when I try to connect to FS9 it says "FS not started connection failed". As far as I remember and as far as I can see from the readme you dont have to have anything in the FS9 folder, so I have just extracted to a folder where I keep all my fs programmes and files. I have installed the latest FSUIPC so do not know what is going? Hello,I've noticed that the Carenado VC causes big time stutter. It is especially noticeable with Active Camera 2004 head latency enabled. I tried disabling the gauges to see the source of the problem and the stutters stopped ! Anyone the knows the cause and FIX of this problem ?Other aircraft VC don't cause stutter !Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hello,I have searched the forum, couldn't find it, so sorry if this has been discussed before.While in FS9, every now and then (but quite often), the Windows keyboard country setting changes from US International (which it should be) to Netherlands. When this happens, FS9 goes bananas with the key settings. I can then click the tiny keyboard in the taskbar and see the setting has changed to Netherlands. When I then select US International, everything is fine again.It happens both while in a window, as well as when flying fullscreen.Now this only happens in FS9. I haven't flown very much with FSX, so I am not completely sure that it won't happen there, but for now I think …
