Hello fellow aviators,I am reworking a Piper Arrow II. I can get the landing light on the plane, I can get that sort of milky glow of the light itself, but, I cant figure out how to get the light to actually "hit" the runway etc. Whats the secret to obtaining that effect? I've looked at the programing & .CFG files and such in other planes but I dont see what I'm missing. Help me find the light!Thanks

I just downloaded AlphaSim's T-6. All seems to be normal as far as installing goes, except for one annoying glitch: the instrument panel has empty holes in it...no gauges. I'm still pretty new at this, so perhaps I didn't get everything right afterall. Question: Where are the gauges supposed to go? I copied the cabinet file to the acft's panel folder, but no gauges. Also copied all the bitmap files from the cabinet file to the three panel folders, but still no gauges. Is that where they are supposed to go? What am I doing wrong? If you have AlphaSim's T-6 and all the gauges are there, I'd appreciate it if you would tell me how you did it, as I must be missing somet…

Primarily with regards to newer Posky aircraft, I notice that a great deal of the sophisticated wingflex movement is lost on basic replay or the video playback program I am using. For example, the movement you get with turbulence on a V4 Posky 747 is essentially lost and I have no idea if you get any wing flexing upon landing in these models (how would you ever see it if it won't replay or show up in a video playback?). Has anyone found a way to capture these effects so they can be better enjoyed on a replay or video?

I've been looking for an Airbus 340-500 for so long and can't find any good ones. I downloaded one but it has no wing views. I'm looking for a good A340-500 that's free.

Just thought I'd post this for anyone who might not know about it. In getting FS and various other things re-installed and configured on my new system, I've come up against a few issues related to the new OS (Vista Home Premium) and the new hardware. One of the biggest was a performance problem in NR2003 ( a great Nascar racing sim) where the sim would get really choppy for a couple seconds at about 5 or 6 second intervals even though the fps were between 80 and 100 otherwise. I tried various suggestions I found to resolve the issue, but nothing worked till I came across a tip to disable the "Cool & Quiet" feature used on the AMD 64 cpus. Disabling this "feature" …

I have experienced several episodes of an apparent ATC glitch where, flying IFR, I will be vectored back and forth between two headings on a zig zag course, while at the same time being switched back and forth between two frequencies. Recently I flew IFR from KRDU to KCTL. The vectors began about 90 miles from my destination. Thereafter I was vectored between headings of 295 and 260 each 20-30 seconds. In between each vector, I was swithed back and forth between the two same frequencies. What a joke. It doesn't happen every time, but when it does, you really notice it. The work around is to cancel IFR until you are about two minutes from the IAF, and then request clea…

This just started on the flight I'm currently flying - never noticed it before that I can recall. When I switch to spot plane view, some sections of the city lights below me are flashing/blinking on and off. They get brighter than they should be (brighter than the other "normal" brightness city lights around them, and then disappear completely. It's been happening the entire flight now (more than an hour). Any ideas?

Anybody else get this?Airfield is at 4500' MSL or so, and I chose "Winter Wonderland" for weather. Checked the AWOS and I get "... Sky Condition minus 2800 Scattered..." And sure enough the clouds are on/in the ground.FS9 goof or...?

I know that there are volumes of AI aircraft available for addon (freeware). While I have downloaded several (regular) freeware aircraft and have made a number of panel aircraft config changes, I have no idea where to start or how to go about adding or changing AI aircraft. Can you just get new textures for existing AI aircraft? Otherwise, what's the easiest way to break into making AI aircraft changes? I would like to start seeing some real liveries on my AI planes instead of the default ones.Thanks!

I've recently re-installed FS9 on my new PC. I have Ground Environment and FS Terrain installed, as I did without any problems on my old PC. Now, at startup I get an error message that says Scenery .cfg error, Local scenery directory (addon scenery/SCENERY), not found at area 0.38.Which of my scenery add-on progs is at fault, I don't want to have to re-install both again.BTW does anyone know which geographical area is covered by area 0.38, it might be somewhere I don't fly and therefore I don't have to bother!

ATC sound level is only about 25% of the sound levels in the rest of the program. I can barely make out what they're saying over the engine noises when such sounds are set to a level that doesn't upset my neighbours.Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong. One suggestion I had was that the sound acceleration level in DirecX was too high so I turned it down but it didn't help.Input appreciated,Thx,Jeff

Can someone direct me to where I might get hold of the British Airways schedule for it's Concorde service and also Air France? I think Air France also did Rio de Janeiro Concorde service for a while.I can find models and other souveniers but I wanted to create the exact schedule for my AI Concordes in FS9.Much thanks

The flight loading stops at 68% (adjusting scenery objects) leaving an error message with error signature terrain.dll.The current module has been replaced. FS9.cfg and Scenery.cfg has been rebuilt.Recent installations has been removed in a proper way (Ultimate Terrain Canda/Alaska and My Traffic 2006).But still FS quits while attempting to load a default flight (Cessna 172 at Seattle).Any idea where to start looking for the reason?......:-zhelp (I have FS 9.1 installed)

I have a BAe 146 panel by Matthias Lebrecht & the overhead appears outside of the panel. Is there a fix for this?Many thanks,TW

I have used FS9 for years with more and more addons like MegaScenery, etc but lately it is taking FOREVER to load up the game (like 15 minutes) and when it comes up the FR are normal but as I fly from one destination to another (say LAX to SFO ) the scenery just turns blurry(worse than the default scnerey) and I cant get the scenery to even appear--I have adjusted settings per this Forum and used nHancer for my 8800GT video card and no luck. I have started to take off all the add on scenery but not seeing any improvement..It is interestin that the calculating of the IFR flight plan takes forever now and the Map screen is having a very hard time loading up....Any advice w…

Is it still the general concensus that these two do basically the same thing? I have been using GEPro and Flight Environment for a while now and I'm really happy with them, but was looking at Birds Eye View thinking that it will provide further enhancements. The docs for BEV say something about added autogen features as well.Any input into my contemplated purchase of BEV would be appreciated. I also run Ultimate Terrain and Active Sky 6.5, in case that matters.Thank you.

If I add panels/gauges to a panel I can only view panels that correspond to keyboard keys 1-9. I have this situation in a few aircraft. I run my exe to install a aircraft. the aircraft file shows it's in there but when I go to create a flight it's not there. I hv rebooted,shut down computer but the aircraft is not in the create a flight list.Anybody help? Tim :-)
