FIRST: Bandwidth reduction suggestion for AVSIM:The 9Dragons Version 1 parts should be more clearly labeled in the header and description. The only way I could tell was by the January file dates. I mistakenly downloaded two >80Mbyte Version 1 parts because they are intermixed in with Version 2 in the file library list. Also, the Version 2 description would be more helpful if it said that Version 1 is not required and should not be downloaded. Hello allI know this problem has been treated many and many times over each and every board... I spent the last three days reading more than I had ever read...I recently changed my graphic card, from a low and limited 8800 GTS (320 mb) to a powerful 8800 GT.It really boosted every 3D application on my rig, but FS 9 seems to resist...Whatever the tweak I tried, ground textures are blurry a few squares around my aircraft and detailed tiles randomly darken as I fly over. Hi everyone,I'm in the process of populating my Russian airspace with the superb packages from 'Russian AI Traffic System'. A time consuming process, and one which has not been without the odd hitch. All of which I have overcome, except for one. Many of the Russian AI models, by CIS AI, SimLandmarks etc, have a seperate folder entitled 'lightmaps', containing the bitmaps for the nightlighting etc. Nowhere can I find instruction on where to put these. I am assuming they go into a common texture folder, such as FS9 texture folder, but want to be sure!If anyone is reasonably sure of the solution, I'd be most appreciative!Regards,Al.

The other day I was flying around Rio de Janeiro and I could NOT find the "Christ the Redeemer" statue on Corcovado Mountain over looking the city. Anyone know if it's there ( I might have missed it) and if not is there a scenery add-on package that might have it? jerrycwo4

As I have not received authorization to enter the AES forum yet to ask this question, I am hoping an AES user can be of help.I just installed Ver. 194 - which supports Kai Tak - and the documentation decribes a method of changing the default hot key - Ctrl Shift W - . The manual says to use the Vistamare Change Key Assignment Menu.I am not finding that Manu.Is that perhaps a separate download?Any help will be appreciated.

Yesterday I bought London Heathroe airport to use with Aerosoft's AES. It was supposed to be made by Simwings but when I got to their site, they directed me to Simmarket and when I downloaded the airport EGLL, it said it was "Aerosoft EGLL". It seems to work with the AES stuff, but for some reason, the airgates do NOT move; only the back steps and the other services???? jerrycwo4

Hello AllI was wondering if its possible to alter the default flight from outside the Sim.The reason i ask is that i have removed an aircraft that was in the default flt and now the Sim wont open and crashes so i cant get access to change the default flt.i have tried reinstalling the plane and the textures etc which should work but i am not getting anyway.So if anybody knows how to change the default flt from outside the Sim i would appreciate it.cheers exasperated Andy

the default 737 panel for FS9.. i tried to download a replacement panel and i thought i had made back-up files a while ago, but i couldn't find them so im guessing that i deleted them... if someone could send me the gauges for the default 737 panel taht would be great, thanks

am considering the wilco 777 but want some opinions as far as bugs and support. i've been reading all the forums the past few days looking for an aircraft but am a bit leary and confused about everything i've been reading. some developers/publishers don't support their products, forums locked or closed, bugs not being addressed. i'd like a heavy jet of some sort BUT more on the easier side, nothing to complex but must have a readable VC and good flight model. i've got overlands airbus and while pretty on the outside the MFD is unreadble in the VC and flight model to close to defaults. I'm trying to get the NAT's and PACOTS to put into FS Commander but keep getting a 'security certificate' error and the page cannot be found. Not getting much help from the program writer. All I hear is 'mine works fine'. I see alternate sites where the tracks can be found, but how to import them into my flight planner? Do I just have to input them manually, I guess?Ideas anyone?Thanks

i just want to put a plug in here for CLS.after getting a new machine and the CLS DC10 / A300 i had a coupleproblems but everything is working fine now. these are two great aircraft with readable VCs and fly silkysmooth. not to simple and not to complex and a few steps up from the defaults. as jackie gleason used to say: how sweet it is! the support at CLS is extremely good which everyone should know. thanks CLS! william

Hello allI seem to be having some issues with d3d9.dll errors at start up. Sometimes I have to re-start my computer up to 5 times before FS will start without the error. I've read other posts that say to re-install DirectX, and I've done that, but no change. When I run dxdiag it says everything is working properly, but I still get the error. Any suggestions as to what I need to do?ThanksScott

ive installed 9 Dragons V2 and actually been able to do the approach and landing just fantastic and great scenery too!!!! use PMDG 737....the FMC recognizes the airport but not the runway and approach.I have followed the instructions for the install and tracked the posts for all the files that have to be updated.....checked the files and everything seems to be there including the approach and stars.obviuosly doing something wrong .....but scratching my head???Any ideas?

I'm a huge fan of flying the default FS9 Mooney Bravo, but it seems a little quirky to me in a few ways. Hi all!When Im approaching for landing with FS9, the runway markings are not appearing, taking some time to show, and only when Im almost touching the runway.This only happens with FS9 here. Hello all,Yesterday I d/l a scenery from the library for RKSI. This scenery was installed using the installer provided by the creator. Starting FS the scenery index was updated correctly and the scenery.cfg was updated. I flew normaly and after landing I shut down FS. Restarting FS later I saw that the scenery index was rebuild again and going to the scenery library on FS I saw that there were now 4 entries for this scenery. Shutting down FS and restarting again, the scenery indexed was rebuild and know there were 6 entries. All pointing the same directory. No matter if I deleted the entries or changing priorities these were recreating and always at top level.After that I…

Hello I was wondering if its OK to use the IFDG flap settings in my Project Airbus aircraft?(TALKING 320s of course)I have noticed that in the IFDG planes there two sections for flaps in the aircraft CFG,but in the PA Airbus there are four sections.Should i copy and paste the IFDG flaps settings and delete ALL four sections of the PA flaps settings or should i just overwrite the first two flap settings and leave sections three and four in the PA plane.cheers AndyPS i am using the latest (i think)Ken Mitchel 320 panel

With the Avsim file server taking some unsheduled down time ;), I got to thinking that I spend far more time adding to flightplans, AI and other bits than I actually spend "flying". I am alone in this? :-hmmm

Rebuilding my scenery library in FS2004. At TFFJ St. Barths, My parked AI Aircraft are floating about 20 feet of the ground. After a thorough search, I can find no other sceneries that would be causing this problem. I have deactivated the Antilles scenery even tho there are no .bgls that are pertinent to St barts. Deactivating the scenery puts the aircraft back on the ground. What could be causing this phenonema and how can I fix it? This is Delblond Christians TFFJ. It also worked fine on a previous install before I had to reinstall FS9. See the Pretty Airplanes in the air!I should learn to read all the details when installing a scenery. I have checked two different computers in my house (neither of which I have changed or altered) and I keep getting this message when trying to visit the avsim lib that my PC/browser wont accept cookies. thats BS. I tried two separate machines and 3 separate browsers on each. (IE6, IE7 and Firefox 2.0) All tell me the same message. I have no trouble accessing or downloading from other sites which also use cookies.just to be sure, I went into each browser and specifically ALLOWED cookies to be set from Library.avsim.net and avsim.com. I've written email to the library team, so no rocks being thrown here at all. Just wondering if Im a loner with this.Eric

In the pursuit of making my simming more 'realistic' :D , I have a few questions about ground procedures...Under what circumstances, other than when there is no availablity, would a large aircraft, such as the LDS 767 use the apu as opposed to external power and external air? Is there a minimum/maximum time, for example, that they might run the apu. When they use external air and power, do they get charged for it by the airport or does the airline have their own gear?If an aircraft is over-nighting at an airport, would they completely power it down, or would it be hooked up to external power and air.
