Just a brief "heads up" for AES users who may have experienced an issue at VHHX (9Dragons - Kai Tak) with the jetways "dissapearing" at certain viewing angles.There is a NEW update at the AES site - version 1.94 A (The previous version was 1.94) - which is supposed to correct this problem.Look for the free base pack.After installing it, you will need to run the AES Help program and uncheck any activated airports then run it again and add them back in. It solved my "dissapearing jetways" problem.

Hey there. I have FSX and have been running it ok for a while, flying with VATSIM. but I had to do a system reformat and ever since I cannot get it to work properly. I have tried everything and am thinking I will try FS9. I am wondering what will be the most noticeable differences? My system, while it struggled with FSX should be able to run FS9 with the graphics turned up pretty high. Also I want to know if there are any good planes to use. My favorite FSX plane is the Baron with the G1000. are there any really good 3rd party glass panel GA or small sized aircraft for FS9?? Thanks,Cobra

Hi everybodyI had to reinstall XP Pro SP2 (yay....), and are trying to use the merge for these two old girls. I've installed both OK, but there's a problem with XP Pro apparently in that although folders aren't really 'read only', they are marked as such. Even bought a file attribute changing program that couldn't help, and I can't seem to get the command line attrib command to work.Unfortunately the merge program requires the folders to be not read only. I can change the file attribures OK, but not the folders themselves, and so I can't get this merge happening. Which has got me confused because I did have it before. Does Airbus have a similar function? How do you visually know on the PFD where your descent is going to end? i got their airbus series a week or so ago but keep getting an error during the installation: CRC failed in w-airbusairbus2k2data.cab anyone know what that means? it installs but when using the VC the flap indicator shows one side of flaps going down and not the other and it looks distorted. the graphics are hard to read in the MFD too using the VC. don't know if that's just how the VC is or what. there is also some kind of mark in the MFD that looks like someone scribbled something with a pencil. i'm wondering if the error i get during the install is causing this. anyone else? william

Something told me I shouldn't, but I did it anyway.I downloaded the FSX demo and installed it. Checked it out. Meh...Then I uninstalled it.Fired up FS9, and it asks me to accept the EULA again... odd, thinks I.Today I fired up EditVoicePack and it tells me that I have no registry key for FS9's install directory.There was nothing else done except install FSX demo, uninstall FSX demo - I don't know what MS thinks they're playing at but it [censored] me off no end.I don't know if there is such a thing here, but if it happens to you http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe will fix it. I need some help on understanding the difference of Credit Packs, serial numbers, credits and bonus credits which Aerosoft mentioned for AES. Is my understanding correct? I purchase AES 1.94a for about $18r abou.33USD for 10 credits. Does a serial number go for each credit or credit pack that I purchase? Or does it mean if I purchase the first creditpack and use all 10 credits in the credit pack I will get another 3 credits I can use, which is a 30% discount.Sorry for the confusion.Thanks,Carl

Hoping someone can help me. I have had the excellent scenery MKJS by Bill Melichar for a while now, and last night I flew from MKJP on my way to MKJS and got about twenty minutes into fligh and got a OOM error. Never had this before. Fired back up and left task manager on to view memory usage and bingo - PF going up and physical memory lowering fast. Have 2GB. Fired up File monitor and I had one after another error all linked to addon scenery/montego bay. It had file errors every few seconds all pointing to this scenery. It was calling for files like Texture.CAB which aren't even in this scenery. I even downloaded the file again thinking maybe something got deleted but al…

A quick AI question:Is there a way to change (increase) the distance that AI aircraft roll on the runway before they turn off? Basically they seem to stop way too quickly and then taxi slowly to an exit... Better if they made a decent rollout! For the slow taxi speeds, the FS Configurator tool has helped a lot but it looks really strange when a loaded MD11 stops in under 1 km... I think it can be done by modifying the Aircraft.cfg of each one and reducing the braking efficiency but I'm hoping for some kind of trick / utility that can do this faster (I have quite a lot of AI).Cheers,Geoff

I just installed the Kai Tak scenery last night and am absolutely astonished by it. It is fantastic.Flew my first 747 flight into it today, just landed EDDF-VHHX, when I noticed two buildings with missing textures. I've compared the logfile.txts suggested in the manual and they match exactly.Can someone direct me to where I could find textures for these buildings:Once I get this tweaked, VHHX will be absolutely perfect.

Hope someone can help me with this problem. All of a sudden I cannot set the elevator pitch for take off in either commercial or FS9 airplanes. When I try to set the pitch all I get is an effort for the setting to move but does not. I normally use my joystick for setting the trim but it does not work nor keyboard strokes, using the number pad 7 and 1. Anyone have any ideas?

Before starting FS9, I want to close down as many processes that I shall not be using for the duration. I am reasonably aware (I think) which processes are vital and which are not, and I have double-checked online that my list is all non-essential stuff. Even so, if anyone can spot any unforeseen problems with closing down any of the following (using pskill), I'd be very glad to hear. Needless to say, I do not need Bluetooth, wireless networks, virus scans, Norton Ghost update schedulers etc. etc. etc. running and taking up CPU time and memory whilst MSFS is running: they will all restart on reboot of course.The processes I have targeted to 'blitz' are as below. Hello AllSometime ago i got some advice here on how to remove the irritating partial virtual cabin view(MELJET 777) by altering the views section in the aircraft CFG and that was successful(HOORAY).But this cabin simply refuses to die,although its gone from the VC if i am panning around (hat switch)at the point where there would wing engine views there is the the disembodied #### cabin view.I tried removing all the internal views from the Texture folder,but still it refuses to die all removing the textures did was turn of the colours but black cabin view still remains.Does anybody know a way to finally kill the cabin.cheers AndyPS i tried adding some wing views,in the…

Hello! I've been having problems with the master autopilot working correctly for the IGfly Tupolev 154M add on. Every time I push the master autopilot switch it immediately disengages. I tried contacting IGfly yesterday but so far there has been no reply. Please help me with this. Thank you.

Hello all,I have run tito a bit of a pickle with my joysticks. First off, I( have the CH quadrant, yoke and pedals. I have recently moved requireing me to disconnect all these USB devices. Upon reconnecting them to my computer and booting up, I find their order numbers have changed thereby screwing up all my FSUIPC joystick assignments which go by joystick number. Please help! I do not want to redo all my FSUIPC configs for each aircraft!Thanks

With the coming of FSX, I see some of the same developers having to come up with program enhancing software. Ultimate Terrain, FSGenesis, Ground Environment, all the airplane developers, you name it. So the question is : What has Microsoft done to truly improve Flight Simulator? A new scenery engine? Obviously not one that's good enough to satisfy their customers. Do they just not care what people want? Obviously we'll pay for add-ons. Why don't they include them? This is why I'm sticking with FS9. I just don't see any reason to start the whole process over again.

Hey guys Im about to order a new Samsung 500GB hard drive since FS9 has pretty much gobbled up most of my existing HD (12GB remaining).I was just wondering how I should set things up? Right now I have these options on my mind. Which would you say gives best results? 1.Move FS9 (and all other programs) onto the new HD..leaving just Windows on the old drive2.Move *ONLY* FS9 to the new drive3.Use Acronis to image the old drive and dump *everything* onto the new one - leaving the old HD as a storage drive. The other day after installing a scenery and checking the Scenery Library, I noticed that the entry, "My World Airports" was UNCHECKED. I do not remember un-checking it so I do not know how it happened. All of the airports I fly to, USA, Europe, South America seem to be OK with this scenery box unchecked. Does this scenery need to be checked in the Scenery Library and if so, what does it control or change? Where would I look for changes AFTER making it active by checking the box in the Scenery Library? Thanks jerrycwo4
