Hi Everyone:Can someone please tell me - if I get a widescreen monitor, how do you get it to work with FS9? Is it just "plug and play" or do you have to download specific drivers for it, etc? Does it stretch the original image, or does it make it look normal without distortion? Also, if it doesn't work with FS9, (or you want to run it in "regular non-widescreen mode") can you still use FS9 on a widescreen monitor but have it appear in the center as a regular square and not a distorted rectangle?Thanks,CHris Catalano

In an attempt to correct some video display problems that were annoying me every time I use FS2004, today I attempted to rebuild fs9.cfg. However, after removing fs9.cfg and storing it elsewhere for safekeeping as a backup, I found that when I clicked to start the sim, it just blacked out the triple LCD screens (I use MATROX TH2G) and I could not even start the sim. The resolution was changed on the way and the only screen I saw was something from the FS9 training menu or some such thing.I think that TH2G executes FS9 in some way or other. I'm not sure how exactly.Eventually I just restored my saved fs9.cfg file and then the sim started normally once again.Why did this…

I just saw an Airbus repaint for U.S. Airways "Star Alliance" I was vaguely aware of this Airline before, but always thought it was a Non Western Hemisphere Airline and thus never included it in my aircraft files. Doing a search for Star alliance brings up dozens of paints for Airlines around the world. Needless to say, I'm confused. I can find no Carrier Airline for U.S. Airways called Star Alliance in my Ultimate Traffic Program or for that matter, no Airline called Star Alliance. Gentlemen, enlighten me.Bill *:-*

Hi,About 3 weeks ago I bought the VirtualCol Fokker 50 and have severe problems with it.It looks like half of the electrical system is not working because I can't engage the autopilot and its modes, nor can I change/swap the freq of the NAV1 and NAV2 radios.Also after 5 minutes of flight, the engines shut down.(Fuel pumps, generators on, etc, etc)I have already contact with VirtualCol but I wonder if anyone else experienced the same problems.

I just installed FS2004 on my new Vista PC. When I open FS, it opens in a non-windowed mode. On my previous PC which has XP Pro, when I open FS 2004, it opens in a windowed mode. Is this the way FS2004 is supposed to open with Vista? Can this be changed? I am completely brand new to Vista. I do have SP1 installed. Thanks, Al

I've just noticed that when I 'fly' over Middle East coasts I get jagged or tiled scenery. I'm not sure whether this is a mesh problem or scenery.Any help would be welcome.Ken

I posted the question on the FSC site but answers there come really slowly. Maybe someone here has a quick answer.On my flight from NZAA to YSSY, the logbook did not record the info. On all my previous flights, it worked just fine. I understand you have to intercept the first waypoint and I was sure to do that. I used 'auto heading' to make sure I intercepted the following waypoints except the last one, as I was vectored to a different runway and had to deviate from the last waypoint and head north. For the the logbook to work, do you have to intercept ALL waypoints in your loaded flight plan? I'm just not sure why it didn't record as the flight progressed without…

I notice some programs specify a particular .NET Framework in order to function properly (eg., ASv6.5 needs NET v1.1). Checking the Microsoft update site it appears we're up to version 3.5. Couple questions then: 1) Is it advisable to continually update .NET?2) If so, are the earlier versions subsumed by the later versions?, and 3)Is addon software (payware aircraft/scenery)written with a specific .NET Framework, and can having the "wrong" .NET cause cliches in either FS9 or addons?Thanks!F15Driver

I uninstalled FS2004 removing all addon aircraft, scenery, etc. I went into the Registry and removed the FS2004 from it as well. I reinstalled the software and ever since, I have not been able to use the Spot View in the main page. It screws up the sound and sometimes will show part of the outside view in the same window as the Panel. Also, although there is sound, nothing works. I give it full throttle but nothing happens. I key on an icon and again, nothing happens. I would really like to get this installed so I can use it again. I have been using FS2004 since it's release way back when.Is there anyone out there that can posiibly help me.Thanks in advance.Frank …

ok im still on fs2k2 so i realise im in wrong forum, but i'm hoping the lessons have remained the same - i think they were the same in fs2k. I'm struggling with lesson 2, the vor approach to jfk - i did it once but overshot the runway - so now trying to do it again. but i keep getting message from instructor saying something like ive flown outside the propper area and to change course - i never have time to change course it just says lesson canceled. could someone have a look and see if it is the same and run through the lesson and post a screen dump of the flight analysis at end of lesson - so i can try and see what i'm doing wrong!

Chicago O'Hare tower gives me orders to approach my assigned ILS runway at 5,000 feet. I try to fly auto ILS approach using the autopilot but it's acting confused. It appears to have problems lining up with the localizer and it won't descend as ordered by glideslope either. Is it because the altitude is too high? HSI is displaying localizer, glideslope and distance just fine; only the autopilot is acting weird.

The TCE utility that comes with their "Legendary F-104" aircraft won't launch because apparently it can't find FS 2004 on my system. Captain Sim has a utility called F104Test.exe that may be able to correct the path to FS 2004. They mention it at their website but the link is broken. I'm posting in case one of you had downloaded that utility before Captain Sim's website fell apart. It's a small 200 Kb file; you could even email it to me.

I have a clean install of FS9 with Ultimate Terrain, Bird's Eye View, and some payware airports installed. Up until Wednesday it was running like a champ on my new home-built.Wednesday night I made an image of my flight sim drive with Acronis TruImage Home 11 and ever since then I'm back to getting slow loading textures (blurries), and flashing colored lines again at more complex sceneries, like ImagineSim's KMEM and KDEN, or at takeoff in mostly cloudy conditions. This has popped up after I installed Captain Sim's Legendary F-104. FS 2004 won't even load now, it terminates after it pops up this message.

Hi!As you can guess from the subject, my FS9 always starts at the correct UTC time + or - the timezone where I position the plane. The UTC time is calculated referred to my system clock. Everything seems correct but if I try to change the time of the day (ex: from night to morning), FS9 sets back the time to the default UTC + or - the timezone where the plane is located. I already tried to disable the option SYSCLOK in fs9.cfg but with no luck. I tried also with FS Real Time but it ends up in an infinite loop of updates (FS9 vs FS Real Time). I guess it is some 3d part setting that keep synced FS9 clock to UTC but I can't figure out a solution... any idea?Thanks in adva…

On April l2, 2008 I started a flight from Lisbon, Portugal (no particular reason starting from there) and flew to every capital in Europe and Western Asia then decided to continue all around the world. Just after I left Italy I purchased "FS Passengers" and then it kept a good record of my flights; but using FS Passengers, I was shot down twice, and crashed once trying to land on a small 3300 foot gravel runway in Canada. I flew the Cessina Citation X all of the way. I loved trying to figgue out my ETA's and required fuel on each leg.
