HiI get a lot of CTD's and system crashes.They are immediately preceded by a little click sound from inside the computer.I've also recently had the FS9 screen slip half an inch down the screenwhen flying.I've done a complete reload, but no differenceAny help appreciatedThanksDave

I just invested in the A345/A346 Combi package and wow! $20 bucks for some real dream airliners! Great details, great handling! Thinking about the A330 models too, even though I have the Overland A330's that I'm pretty happy with. Any comparisons on those?The CL A330 package is $32 but comes with about 150 planes.

I was looking at the "this months hot files...and "this years hot files" in the library and saw that World of AI packages dominate the most downloaded files this year. Congrats on a super job compiling the packages, they always work great. I would like to change the function of the S Key in FS9 ast it standard gives 4 views being cockpit, virtual cockpit, tower view and spot, it takes too long to switch from 2D cockpit to Spot view. I use a Saitek yoke and one of the yoke keys represent the S function. Here I would like to limit the view action to 2D and Spot only. I use this a lot when arriving or taxi and need fast changes between the two views from cockpit to environment. So maybe I could change somewhere in a file the function of S from 4 to 2 views by deleting the Tower and Virtual view. Or making tOwer also 2D Cockpit and Virtual also Spot. Anyway trust my explanation gets me an answere where to find …

Mainly for the benefit of Gavin, B52Drivr and January who were good enough to reply, I have resolved the issue with poor frame rates in FS9. An application running in the back-ground was causing the problem. I don't know which one yet (I disabled all start-up applications in msgonfig - except virus protection)and now the frame rates are mega with all aircraft. I may try to find out which one - one day - if I can be bothered! For now I am just mightily relieved that my investment in a new rig has been justified.Thanks again guys!RegardsJohn

Got some time to play and explore the World of FS2004. My Main method of adding scenery is to fly over an interesting Airport and see if there is anything available on the two main sites AVSIM and Flightsim.com. Today on a jaunt from Huntsville Alabama to Boone North Carolina, I find myself over Chatanooga KCHA at 10,000 feet. I cancel my flightplan and circle on down to land expecting to find an interesting Airport. After all, Chatanooga is not exactly the Back Woods. But the default scenery is plain Vanilla. Ultimate Traffic has given Me an AFCAD that has plenty of parking for the scheduled Airlines, (some of course are inside the default buildings), but at least the t…

I am running FS9 on vista 32 with a dell Q6600 cpu and a 8800GT 512 Graphics and 3gb ram.I have tried the game settings at the default settings and with all the sliders maxed.The same with my Graphics card I have tried the sim with the factory default settings and also with everything maxed, but the results are the same. Still shimmerings and jaggies, all the settings I have tried makes no improvement.Anybody any ideas how to cure this.ThanksBill

Hey guys, Wilco's forum won't let me register for some reason, so I'll see if I can get help here. On their E-Jets, when I go through FMS initialization, I put my weights and fuel in, hit the confirm button, then it takes me to the climb/cruise/descent pages and it says that they are not initialized. How do I fix this?Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to dummy down the SCS Tu-134? I am kind of the virtual pilot that wants to just jump into a plane and fly. This plane is so confusing to operate, from the start-up process to trying to figure out the navigation. If I was to replace the panel with a different one that does not require the in-depth processes, would that make it a Tu-134 for Dummies? If so, then I might use the same trick on the Yak-42 as well, and maybe the Tu-154.

Guys.I managed to install the ACS Panel on my MD11(IFDG)m but I can't get the TCAS to work.Instead of the TCAS I hava a red "X".Any ideas???Reagards,AZLondon

Hi,I have converted some aircraft texture bitmaps from BMP to DXT3 format.I wondered if I can do this to any bmp file, thus also textures files of sceneries etc.I know I will loose some crispiness but that is no problem.Does anyone else has already converted all his/her bmp's to DXT3?Are There any no-no's?

I have installed the lights for the PSS777 & PSS757 asper the user edits in A2A's forum. While the aircrafts are on the ground all looks well, however soon after takeoff I get a duplicate set of red & green nav lights underthe wing tips. I have removed all the PSS fx files from the effects folder. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has managed to sort out this problem. A2A's forum doesn'tprovide any answers to this issue even though other peoplehave posted about this issue.Thanks & regards

Good afternoon,Could some kind soul help me out with a problem I have at KMDW? I am using Fly Tampa's KMDW (FS9) and right now ATC is landing 737s and 757s on runway 13R/31L which is only 3900ft long. I am pretty sure there is no way to restrict ATC from landing a certain kind of aircraft on a particular runway, so what I'd like to do is just close this runway altogether. I went into the runway properties in AFCAD and checked the closed for takeoff/landing boxes for both ends of the runway and for some reason I still have traffic landing on them. What is the correct procedure for closing down a runway completely? Thnx!!!

I will challenge you to a race.This is rather an unconventional race, having the winner being the person who is the slowest.How long does your FS2004 take to start up, from the instant you double clicked, to the menu popping up???My fully laden, add-on heavy set-up takes 7 minutes, and 38.56 seconds to start up.The winner of this race is the person who takes the longest to start up.Of course, as with any race, there are complications. The users system is one of them. I'll list my specs below. Put simply, if you have a more up-to-date system, FS2004 will probably start up quicker, and the opposite if your PC is slow. Hi can i seek some advice i have a PMDG B747-400 I can never line up correctly on EGCC EGLL EGKK LFPG on ILS Approaches my aircraft always approaches at the wrong angle crossing the runway and doesnt capture the GS I am not inputting anything other than my flight plan can you advice what i should be doing to program my ILS data and how, other flights are perfect but for instance if when i have attempted to land atEGLL i read the chart is says: Hdg 300 intercept radial 001 etc; i am unsure how to go about this most of my other flights are fine and require no additional inputs but im sure i need to give more information on these particular approaches Many Thanks …

Looking at KSNA airport diagram and its runway weightbearing capacity information.Max landing weight rwy 19R for (D95) is 95000 lbs.I seen on FlightAware that 737-800's are landing there.But their empty weight is 93000!So my thought is .. how do they do it? They wouldbe landing with few people, bags and no fuel. Airlinecould not make money that way.So, my second thought is I am not looking at the data correctly!

At night, visibility is set below 10 miles, 90% of the time, I get a bright green haze instead of the ususal gray. Its literaly like flying into Pea Soup!! It usually happens from dusk till about 2am or so. I have it with the default textures AND after I installed Perfect Sky textures.Has anyone had this occur and is there a way to fix it? I have wondered if it is a lack of memory on my computer, that wont allow the texture to load? Could a texture be missing? If so, what one? Any insite would be greatly appreiciated! Thanks!!

Hi guys!I am an airline pilot and fly Boeing 737-300 & -500. I found a programming error in both FS2004-B737 and my favorite Wilco B737 PIC: when you extend the flaps to 5 (above 1000 feet radio altitude) and set the thrustlevers to idle for further deceleration the gear-warning-horn sounds. In the real B737 this horn only sounds (above 1000 feet radio altitude) with flaps 15 and greater, idle thrust and gear NOT already down, so it's very disturbing and unrealistic during my flight-sim-sessions. Does anyone knows how to change this behavior in FS2004?Thanks in advance and "happy landings" to all :-)Thomas

I have both FS2004 and FS2002 on my system. I'm having a problems with the latter. I'm posting this message here since there is no FS2002 forum and in the hope that someone might have had a similar problem in FS9 (or remembers having this problem in FS2002).The problem is, after installing new hard drives on my system and restoring FS2002 from a backup then reinstalling my MegaScenery, USA/World extreme landscape software along with various other add-on products I discovered a problem. Hi,I have downloaded and installed a file (ins4df727v2.2.zip) here from avsim that installed 2 CIVA INS units into my dreamfleet 727 panel. The units are there and they work fine but I can't get the INS to feed the heading into the autopilot. I engage the autopilot (ALL), set the mode selector to manual and turn HDG SEL on. But nothing happens except that the plane starts turning towards 340 deg (the default hdg on the autopilot).What am I doing wrong? (the ins units are aligned and setup correctly)Thanks,Martin
