I just completed a flight from LPLA to CYQX using the Dreamfleet 727-200. As I approached Gander Int. I was told that the airport was IFR and it was closed.Even though the airport was closed, I landed using the NAV/LOC, Glideslope capabilitites of the aircraft. I have never attempted the FS9 training course to become IFR qualified. I have almost 1600 flight hours in FS9 and I would rather not take the course, a number of posts found in this forum state that the course in flawed. Is there and ini file that I can be reset so that I can skip the airport close due to being IFR?ThanksTom

I just started flying a lot with the VC panels and just when I adjust them to the right distance that I want, the @%$&* seats come into view and BLOCK parts of the panel. Is there ANYWAY to get rid of the seats? They were "painted" in so there must be someway in PhotoShop to paint them out??? Thanks jerrycwo4

What would be the best most realistic freeware panels to use with the Posky Embraer Legacy 600 and Project Airbus 318 and 319's?If there is no good panel for the Legacy, I have the Feelthere ERJ 145's. Can I use that panel with the Posky plane? If so how?

Hello. I was hoping someone might be able to answer a question for me.Is it possible to have specific AI aircraft using a specific runway at specific airpots? Let's say a Piper Cub is doing TNG's and the airport has two runways and I want the Cub to be using the shorter runway of the two. Is it possible to make this happen?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!

Okay I'm using a POSKEY 777v2 aircraft and I want to be able to merge the PSS panel in which I have done already with working guages & fmc and be able to merge it with the poskey 777 vc panel? I can't get any info from POSKEY FORUM on this, is their anyone who is running this setup? Thanks Don

Hello,I got the level d 767 and when cutting off the engines I can listen to the exterior idle sound of the default 737. Even when I install a new soundpackage this sound is always listenable. It is on in every situation besides the sound I installed. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? There is no sound.cfg line nore a sound file in the 767 sound folder with this default sound. I wonder Wehere and Why the LDS767 get's this sound from.Any ideas?

Can anyone explain why the Frame Rate display remains active and bouncing around while FS is Paused? Certainly the whole image is frozen, yet something seems to be continuing at the processor level.And does the (red) display of the Frame Rate data have any impact on overall sim performance? Perhaps a performance gain with it off?(Why display FPS at all?- Well it gives me a visual clue as to when hitting the Refresh Scenery key will be of benefit. Frame rate can decline over time, without readily being noticeable.)Alex Reid

Hi Guys,I have ISD Venice airport scenery installed but I also would like the Lago Venice scenery installed too....Not the Lago Airport,just the Venice city part of the scenery..Is it possible to combine the two?Any help is greatly appreciated.Thanks,Regards,Martin.

I have installed ESSAV2 to my directory D:FS2004SWEDFLIGHT. When I attempt to install the bonus EKCH scenery, it will not install as it does not see the ESSA install in the "add-ons" folder. Is there a workaround for this?Thanks Dom

I am running Vista Premium and I have seen that when I add new addon scenery to FS9, no scenery.dat files are made by the sim scenery library process. I also think that the scenery.cfg does not read additions suck exclude and flatten lines, as iy was revealed when I tried to add those lines there upon installing Barrie Larke's Sleap scenery (Sleap.zip).Is it true that no scenery.dat files are made by Vista? I have also added Flight Deck 4 and all is fine, but again no scenery.dat files visible. Or is that that Vista keeps them somewhere I cannot find?Any light on this would be appreciated.

I have just installed UTE with both patches and at the moment am dissapointed with the results when compared to the screen shots I have seen. I have GE pro and UTE installed, the blurries are very bad, the edges of the roads and rivers are blurried and jagged, the scenery draw distance is very near, scenery pops up at you, The scenery is reasonably sharp when looking directly down on thr aircraft from above, but the horizon is very limited.I am thinking on adding a mesh addon such as Genisis as the reviews recommend.All my FS sliders are maxed out.Is their something I am not doing to achieve better results or something I can do.Please helpThanksBill

Hello, Could anyone please help. The preview window in fs9 is always blank this has only recently happened, even when I select an aircraft nothing shows in the window. Your help would be most grateful.

I will probably get booed off this board for asking for this, but here goes anywho... I like to keep my flightsimming as real as I can within the limits of FS9 - are there any modifications to these sceneries to disable the VHHX airport as well as the old terminal building in TNCM? anything available? if not, could a person use afcad program to modifiy it? I would like to get the VHHX software just for the wonderful downtown scenery, etc - I would just like to be able to "close" the airport in FS9thannksciao!Brian Sommers

Greetings,After an extensive search on this I came empty-handed so I would like to ask here.Does anyone have an experience with installing FS2004 on a network drive or running it from a shared folder?The idea, of course, is to run an identical environment on multiple PCs.Does anyone have any experience with this?P.S.: I'm aware of the fact that each PC running FS2004 from this shared installation needs a separate license

Hi,I`m having some trouble adding scenery to my FS2004 installation. I started making photorealistic scenery of my home region using FSEarthTiles, cutting the region in tiles. For the first 4 tiles, everything was ok, so enjoyed nice VFR flying over my home region. However, for the next tile, I was not able to make FS2004 use the new set of textures, so I ended up with the FS standard textures for this tile.I already tried changing the scenery.cfg manually and to change the order of the self-made scenery in FS` scenery list. However, even putting the last tile in the top position of the scenery list didn`t help.Any ideas how I could solve this problem?Best regards,Michael

in METARs and such, clouds are reported in AGL as opposed to MSL, but flight simulator seems to put them at MSL. I was flying of south central Canada, which is rather flat and ActiveSky had registered some low clouds, something like SCT007, and the clouds were sunken into the ground...i realize the weather system of flight sim is rather complex, but is there some way to change this so that it reads METARs correctly or is it pretty much something to live with?Sam

I have just tried to apply FS9 update as i had noticed just a moment ago it still was on 9.0, Now when i first installed FS9 i immediately followed it with the update which installed it to 9.1, so somewhere in the last few months it has jumped back to version 9.0!!! Tho it still seems to be in the FS2004 Directory as installed!! VERY WEIRD!!!ANY TAKERS?!?!

Hello,it seems the 2D Cockpits consists of 2 panels, on for daylight and floodlight and one for the dimmer light.I am working on a new 2D Panel (editing an already existing one), everything works fine, but when switching to the dimmer light the original panel appears.How do I have to design my panel in order to see it when I switching on the dimmer light? Is there a second bitmap somewhere in the aircraft folders? Could not find any. Or do I have to change some panel.cfg lines?Thanks for help

I am trying to remember which was the MSFS scenery of French Polynesia Tahiti region (Society Islands) in the 90's that really stunned me. I flew there (real) recently and one amongst the basic reasons for it were the memories of flying there with FS years ago :-)I think it was a payware and not freeware and I think it was for FS98.All I remember now from back then is flying to Bora Bora NTTB and Maupiti NTTP and landing in between tropical trees close by with amazing 3D detail and being surprised by the excellent graphics for that FS period and the - very FIRST for that era - reflection of the Maupiti island mountain on the sea of the lagoon. I have researching this for a few days but can't seem to find any real info so help is appreciated.Is it possible to add FSX aircraft into FS2004 such as the aerosoft f-16 and other new planes?I have tried this process with a different payware aircraft but an error occurred and FS told me that it could not load the model.Anybody know how to use FSX aircraft in FS2004?ThanksRichy

I was just casting my mind back over aircraft that were being developed in the last few years that seem to have fallen off the radar.AirlinerXP - the big one lots of people ask about. Looks like after the big fanfare at its launch it has quietly disappeared with a whimper :(Airsimmer A320 - the other Airbus lots of people keep asking about. We haven't heard much for many months now.Dreamfleet DC-8 - This one I was very much looking forward to but last I heard they decided to make it FSX only. Hi All,I have just loaded fs9 on my new rig which runs Vista 64.Scary in itself, but up till now everything has gone quite well. I have just begun to add addon scenery when this occurred.The first few addons went on as normal,however this morning I added a new scenery that required a flatten switch to be added to the scenery config. When I reloaded the sim after adding the scenery it was indeed there,however when I went to add the flatten lines to the scenery config,there was no entry for the scenery in the scenery config?Also there are no entries for the last two sceneries I added in the scenery config but they are showing up in the sim and working also.
