I'm trying to figgure out this new system of saving a "thread". In the old way it would save a folder of files and a short cut to get to them. Under this new system it appears that to save a "Thread (article), it only saves a short cut to that article and you must be connected to the internet to read your saved "thread". Is this how this new system works? Where is the explination of all of the little "icons" to the left of and article's title? What do they mean? Thanks jerrycwo4

Is there a program that lets you see AI traffic as your flying. In FSX you can click on view/ AI traffic and it gives you a list of all ai traffic around you and you can view it in another window. I'm looking for somthing like this for FS9, payware or freeware. Thanks, Bob

Here is one for the experts (at least I think so). I have had a recent problem of textures for aircraft and some scenery not loading in a small geographical area. So far around LFBO in France and LBBN in Australia. I have the add-on SIMWINGS - TOULOUSE 2005 there and it has been working just fine until a few weeks a go. In the Melbourne area of LBBN I have no add-ons and this happens also. I did to some ez-scenery stuff there and it too worked fine until this happened. I removed the bgl I made but the problem still persists. If I try to load any of these airports directly the sim just hangs (at about 1 to 3% loaded) and I have to kill the program with ctrl-alt-del (there …

Hello,I recently tried to reinstall FS9 on a new rig, and have gotten the following messages:Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 encountered a disk error while writing to the file ....Scenery\World.cabI also got the same message for tokyo.cabI kind of got the impression that the only fix would be to buy another FS9, but I can't find them anywhere in stores--just FSx. And before going and ordering it online, I wanted to see if anyone would be so kind to send me tokyo.cab and world.cab, assuming they aren't too massive?Thank you so much!Zach

Howdy everyone!Well firstly, let me say that this forum rocks!. I've been lurking around here for ages but only just recently got around to signing up :)I'm currently doing some programming courses at uni and for one of my assignments I have to design an application. Hello. For xmas I am getting a brand new computer that should run Fs9 great. See: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=235830I was would like suggestions to make overall improvement to FS9 "must haves". Do you recommend Activesky, Ground Enviroment 2006 etc etc? and what about AI? I am not too knowledgeble on AI do it yourself programs but I have been hisitant to download any airports that don't have static aircraft (which there are very few). I don't like taxiing around say the newest YUL scenery with the defult aircraft nor do I like it w/o any traffic at all. Besides a few airplanes and a few sceneries I have World Airports V 2 and Lvd 767Thanks!

So I got a repaint of an iFDG US Airways A320 directly from the author. On one of the engine textures there was a problem though. There was a shadow of th eengine fins on both side of the engine and there is no iFDG .MDL file that has them on both side on this specific spot. So I send this engine texture to my friend who has a Macintosh computer, and photo shop and he removed the shadow on the outer side of the engine to I could get an iFDG .MDL file that has the fins are just one side on this specific spot, and I would have this working. I emailed it to him, he fixed it and sent it back to me. I then added it to my iFDG aircraft, and added it to my aircraft folder for FS…

I was wondering if anyone is using the FS Freeware packages along with any of the Mach-1 Design Group airports (JAX, MCO, ect)? I am familiar with CLS aircraft as I have a couple of them--the A340 and the DC-10--and I am reasonably impressed with the finish and quality. I was wondering if anybody hbere uses the new CLS 747 classic and if so, how are the flight dynamics? How does it "handle", so to speak. Also, can it do an ILS approach properly? I know it doesn't have a full FMC, etc., but my interest in this aircraft is flying it with the autopilot panel coupled to FS Navigator and hand-flying takeoffs, climbouts, and approaches especially in "weather". In the "f86ef_ref.htm" file, I do find the writeup for the autopilot. The first line states: "47 Automatic Pilot Master Switch - Selects one of the following modes for the [completely fictitious and non authentic] AFCS [automatic flight control system]". I still run fs9 happily with some great scenery addons. One of them is the VFR Photographic scenery for the UK in four volumes. It first came out in 2002.Now Just Flight and Horizon simulations have come with fsx versions. From the screenshots, the resolution is much higher, making every street, house and garden visible.Could it possible that these might be installed in FS9? There's another angle which may make the FSX versions suitable for FS9.The fabulous freeware vfr scenery for FS9 from the Netherlands 2000 team is at a resolution which matches that of the new vfr sceneries for FSX.The NL 2000 scenery is at 1m/pixel. Hi allI made a stupid mistake installing FSUIPC ver 3.85. I usually I back up the previous version, but this time I didn't.Anyway ver 3.85 has a problem with some of the keystrokes. HelloThis last week or so i have been trying out the ATR 72-500 (ISDT)but ia m having mixed fortunes with this aircraft.The pane i use was created by Claus Vendelboe this is a fine looking panel,but it may(i am not sure date back to FS2002)anyway trying a couple of flights with the ATR(ISDT VER2)It seems woefully underpowered(climb laboured and horrible nose up attitude)i thought this had been sorted by ISDT in there v2 model so i took it for a flight,but exasperation it was still underpowered,the only thing i could think of doing was trying a different panel(not nearly as good looking as the Claus Vendelboe one though)but when i changed mid-flight the planes performance…

Hi all,I'd like to fix a problem with my local airport (CNQ3) in FS9, and was hoping someone could suggest how to go about it.As the photo shows, runway 16-34 (right) extends all the way to runway 05-23.But in FS9, the two runways don't meet up:How could I go about extending 16-34 in the sim?
