My situation is this: I have a laptop, and the internal HD is tiny (250GB). I partitioned this HD into two halves, one for Mac OS X, and one for Windows, with the consequence that both of the halves are now filled to the top. It's the Windows partition that I'm going to clean up first, because Windows seems to have mroe problems operating on a little HD space than Mac OS X. Anyway, FS9 is on my internal HD, and now I want put everything I've got over to the external HD, but I'll start from scratch so the external HD doesn't inherit all the crap of the old FS9 installation. So, therefor, I will be installing FS9 on the external HD. Now I'm wondering, can this be done safel…

Hi Guys,I've had the old PSS Avro RAF Vulcan sitting on a CD in my stack for many years and at last I decided to install it in my FS9. Everything works as it should, except one thing. I cannot get the gear to retract in external view.The gear lights on the panel show the gear as being retracted or extended correctly and the keyboard "G" button works as it should for all my other aircraft, except this one. The gear retract/extend sounds are not played either. I even tried to place a standard gear lever gauge on the panel in order to see if that would work but it didn't.Is this a problem in the .mdl file and therefore something I cannot correct ?Does anyone have a solution …

Hi all,i am going to be getting a new PC which I wil lbe running FS9. I have been running my existing FS9 for ages with a ton of add-ons so I a mnot sure if I should re-install everything from scratch or just install FS9 and then dump a copy from my old system over the top?I have recently cleared out a load of old planes which didnt have VCs but I am wondering if I have a load of old gauges ni the gauges folder, will it slow down the game on my new system? Or do they just sit there and only get loaded when a plane uses them?I dont want to buy a new system but have the game slowed down by a load of old files but to re-install eveythng again could literally take months?Than…

Does anyone else do non-VATSIM/IVAO multi-player FS using FSHostSpy to see which servers are broadcasting? It seems if more people knew about it, there would be more players involved. I, for one, don't feel comfortable with VATSIM regardless of how eager they are for new users to learn the ways of the force. I have a problem which I hope someone can help me with I have a repeated (100%)and predictable CTD just north of the Kempten VOR - KPT - in southern Germany. This doesn't work "the_ultimate_fc_-_pss_merge_and_fde_config._update.zip", from avsimDo I follow the instructions for the PSS Panel.txt or The Normal Panel.txt if I want it to work? The project have been going on for last 3 years now.We have managed to get 2 real headsets for the sim and now we would like to connect them into FS2004 & Vatsim. I thought I had seen a blurp somewhere that indicated the FS9 Default Scenery should always be No. 1 in the list, as oppossed to any other third party add-on. Or does it really matter?Running XP.Cheers,irish3

As Hama has closed the FS2004 site (files not found message) I am seeking a copy of his fine cargo ships which were listed on his site as AI_Cargo_ship.zip.I seem to remember that someone had downloaded all of his FS2004 models and has made them available but I cannot recall where that might be.If anyone can provide the above zip file or direct me to working DL location I would be very apprecative.Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone, been working on a free AI flight planning utility and was wondering what the largest AI Traffic bgl file people run into. The largest one that I have is the stock FS9 traffic030528.bgl which weighs in at around 15mb. Anyone seen anything significantly larger? Please advise and thanks!Mark

I let the cargo/hatch/utility door issues go a number of years ago. I didn't have the time to research it back then, but I have a bit now. So before I do any hard core research on this subject, I was hoping that someone has already broached this issue and has a solution for it. Hey!I recently got a new system with a better CPU and GPU and pretty much the works. FS9 runs fantastic now but when i check Antialiasing my frames drop like a rock. In the forums somebody suggested using the external GPU software for the AA. I have an nVidia 9500GT 1GB DDR2. When I go to the nVidia control panel, I go to the 3D settings and set AA to Always overide application settings, and set the level to 2X. However, when i go back into FS9 there is no AA at all. Nothing I try has worked except for the slow FS9 AA.Am I missing something?-Mike!

Hi guys, I've been playing with one of my afcad files and am trying to get 2 aircraft to pass thru' each other (not realistic I know!!) on the taxiway to alleviate head to heads. However I'm almost certain the aircraft are jumping across nodes even when not connected.Am I correct in thinking that an aircraft will find the shortest way to its parking stand? Hi Ive had an issue with my FMGC and I been trying to uninstall it and then re-install the program. When I try to unistall i get the message unistal_Airbus1_wilco.exe has stopped working.Does anyone know how i can get around this issue.... Duped? yes duplicated, of late I have been getting dupe a/c in ai traffic. They run real close together so that it looks like 1 a/c for a while until I/they change course then lettering gets blurry then far enough apart to tell it's 2 a/c, BUT, the same same a/c, i.e. same tail #'s. So how do I get rid of the "clones"?? I posted this thread in Captaim Sim's forum and nobody replied, so I'll try it here...I purchased the Captain Sim 757 Pro Pack, only to discover that the VC instruments aren't backlit (obviously for night ops)...just a dim overhead light. There's a workable solution for the FSX version, but I haven't found anything for the FS9 version. Help anyone?

Hey guysI was wondering how can one go about creating a scenario for research purpose? I basically would like to create a situation where I will say make a Cessna 182 fly 2nm in across the screen from the 3 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position.
