I do not know if this is the right forum for this but after about 2 years of using FS9 I have decided that I would like to give something back to the community that has created so many great addons for the game. I would like to learn how to write .cfg and .air files along with creating panels to create very accurate realistic flight dynamics and systems (i.e. electric, hydraulics, etc.). For my first project I am thinking of doing a small relatively simple single engine prop. So here are my questions for those who may have answers:1. Whenever I fly from Winnipeg to Minneapolis and I'm about to cross into the US, then I get a Crash to desktop. It's really bugging me cause I don't know why its doing that! I have CanUK CYWG scenery installed and Ultimate Terrain USA V1.30, Ultimate Terrain 1.1. It dosen't happen when I cross form the US to Canada. And it is fall in FS. Even with default ground(no UT) it still crashes.

Have tried 2 test flights, the first one was full FMS and the second onewas hand flown, only used to FMC for V speedsFirst takeoff at Vr the a/c pitched uncontrollably to 40* and the recovery was after a series of wild gyrations. On the second takeoff it lifted off at 116kts, and a series of wild pitch gyrations. First landing (attempt) was auto land: the throttles did not retard as they should have and there was no flare. A/C slammed into the runway and rolled over. Second landing was hand flown and I had to force it the last 50 feet to the runway and it finally slammed into the runway and rolled over. So I just bought a new computer today and couldnt resist picking up a copy of FSX. I installed it hoping my new computer could cope with the demand I have heard about FSX. it does ok with everything maxed, but still pretty slow. I am not all that wowed by it.So I got to thinking, whats everyones preference and opinions on the two? Do you prefer FS9 over FSX or vice versa?

Hi everyone I have recently found out how to repaint and was wondering what are the directions for repaints like project opensky that paint stright but come out backwards on the right side of the plane unless you edit it in dxt bitmap. Basically what are the directions for dxt bitmap when editing the right side of the plane so it wont come out backwards in fs2004??? Thanks!!!

Hi,I'm trying to build a scene with GMAX, a library lightpole on top of a pillar (a cylinder). Ive gota dummy node, a cylinder, and an attach_pt box, LOD_050 and LOD_100. The pillar shows in the sim but without thelamp pole. Can someone help me ? im thinking it's the hirarchy.Thanks in advance............Wayner

I have a horizontal line like the one in the pic below that keep showing up. They appear, from any cockpit view or spot, and remain in the same position. To clarify. The line comes onscreen and stays straight, but descends, ascends, banks with the plane..as if it's attached.I just noticed if I take my screen to full back to windowed mode, while flying with the line showing, it will disappear.. I had deleted my fs9.cfg file and let it rebuild itself. Then I changed a few of the lines in the cfg. HiAnybody know how to turn off flashing beacons on vehicles in imagine simulation airport scenery.Or if not turn it off, just adjust the relevant texture file to make the beacons smaller.I find them quite large and distracting. Probably just me.

Let me start by saying I have searched to no avail.I have the Posky 744v4 downloaded directly from the Posky site, I have the Posky util and debug correctly installed, and all the animations work except the pushback tug.I have SP3 model installed, but no matter what I do, I get no tug. I press the buttons in the Posky util for the tug at either of the three positions and on and off, but the tug never shows, even during pushback.What am I doing wrong? Do I have the latest model?

Hi.I have a couple of questions that I would welcome some help on Please.1) How do I check my version to make sure I have the latest one installed.2) Can we use the Navdata supplied by Navigraph for the latest version in FS9.1.(Navdata told me to ask CS, but I never did get a reply a few weeks ago)I ask No2 because I have had conflicting answers regarding this issue.Some have said they have had nothing but problems and CTD's as the latest Navdata says it is only for the version 4.1 or something and for FSX.I appreciate any help regarding these questions guy's.Thanks.

I purchased and installed the new FS Elemental Natural and Intense packages. They did install and have placed icons on my desktop which offer changing FS9 textures. However, the installation appears not to have located my FS9 folder. It seems to recognise only a C: drive installation of FS9 and does not ask the user to point to the correct directory. The icon installations go through their paces, but give the warning message: "Unable to late the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 installation folder from the Windows System Registry. Setting to default path C:\Program Files\~Flight Simulator 9. This may have unexpected results." I keep my FS9 on a different drive. When flying…

The EC 135 is freeware from www.hovercontrol.com by Heiko Richter. Whenever I load the aircraft and and activate gauges an error comes up and say my computer has run out of memory. Does this helicopter really take up so much RAM?1gb RAM512mb Graphics CardIntel Pentium 4Cheers

When flying IFR, on clearance, we are assigned an initial climb ATL, say, 5000. We takeoff and start to climb... But the FS9 ATC, instead of calling us when we are reaching 3500-4000 (on our way to 5000), it waits until we are at 4700 to give us the next assigned ALT. Is there any way to alter any FS9 ATC parameters to change this behaviour, so that ATC will call you and give you the next ALT, say, 1000-1500 feet before reaching the next assigned ALT to avoid the anoying leveling and climb cycle?This is specially painful when flying Jets, which normally climb very fast on VNAV. BTW, the FS9 ATC does the same thing on descend.Thank you in advance,kerke

A great big thanks to "Sparky Pilot" and "N60JBravo" for giving me the info to get a HSI Gauge that would UN-Dock !! It works just like a champ ! Just what I was looking for. "Sparky Pilot", I went for the gauge that "N60JBrave" gave me as I liked the looks of it better. It was just a personal choice. Only need one more item and this aircraft will be complete. I have been running a registered version of FSUIPC (3.70 I believe?) for some time now and I have yet to discover what the big deal about it is. So far the only button I have checked is syncing the FS time with my system clock. I know it has many functions for joysticks but it has little effect on my lowly Logitech Attack 3 that I picked up for $15.So my question to all of you is what do you use FSUIPC to do?
