I've been installing some freeware airports in California and have been running into issues with the AI flight plans included with them. Some of the aircraft that are in the flight plans are flyable aircraft. So the question of the hour is at what point a flyable aircraft is really suitable for AI use? I mean, what's the cutoff point...By the way, I know I can easily substitute other aircraft for the ones requested but I always like to look at a scenery from the artist's perspective if possible.Mark

Hi,I'm in the (tedious) process reinstalling FS2004 on Windows 7 X64 :( I have global Mesh scenery and I think I have somewhere read that global mesh should have the lowest priority, unlike 'normal' scenery add-ons.Is this correct, should my global mesh be the first entry? (thus even lower then Default Terrain and Default Scenery entries)Or should it be just above all the standard FS2004 entries and just below the start of my add-on sceneries? Please advice,Egbert

Hello, Fellow FS9 Simmers. (The last "Real Simulation" FS from Microsoft.)I have a challenge for all you top gauge developers. I have been searching for digital fuel gauges on the web, and to my amazement, there are none. I am designing a mini-panel to go with IFDG's Airbus A319. I am creating it to fit well with a commenly used panel for the A319. I wanted to use digital fuel gauges, since a lot of the gauges are digital. The 3 fuel tank gauges are digital, however, they are inside one of the main glass gauges. I have not got into gauge designing yet and I know a lot of you out there have. I use several beautiful gauges designed by many of you.I already created a small d…

Can I have FS9 in today's modern world with the scenery and AI of 2009 and have another FS9 with say, 1980's scenery and AI? What I would like to do is to be able to fly in the 1960/70/80's with the various aircraft, scenery and AI to get the feel of that era without having the "modern" aircraft and scenery in it. I do not want to "delete" the modern scenery and AI each time I want to fly out of Miami pretending it's 1964 and the next day fly out of there in todays world.Thank you in advance for any help/advise you can offer.Kind regards

Hey there,I installed fs2004 on vista ultimate 64bits and i noticed that my fps were much better than with xp pro 32bits. With xp i was averaging 22fps but with vista 64bits it's at 30fps. I've installed all my payware aircrafts and still have to add third party sceneries. What i can say, so far so good. From all what i read about vista and its performance probs, it seems to be that my hardware likes more vista than xp. Oh by the way it's a laptop Acer 6530G with 2.ghz, 4gb ram, 512mb dedicated ati HD3650. I think that vista probably handles memory ram better than xp. Anyone can confirm that???Please share your experiences or any tweaks for vista 64bits so that others can…

Never have seen this before.Booted up to launch FS9, Icon came up and another small window which read..."Bad Licence for B767-300, FS12004 will not quit"The header to that small window read "level D Simulations Module"I have not touched/played with the 767 for well over Three months.I looked into the Modules directory with the 767 and saw nothing out of the ordinary.I ran another McAfee scan and a registry cleaner. Also twice a week I run a spyware program.Have not downloaded anything related to Level D". System was just fine last night.Runniing Windows XP SP3, no major harware changes recently.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,irish3

Nothing to do with this Topic, but I just checked my Logins Notebook, and found I joined Avsim.com on the 3rd. August, 2003. Had 2/3 changes of Username along the way. Avsim.com my No.1 Website! For the last 3/4 weeks I've been 'suffering' with pauses/hang ups when loading Fs9, also when changing views from my JF B777 cockpit. This T7 is a PoskyJF PSS Merge. I'm using XP Home. I didn't have this problem before the Merge; but around that time I also had a fiddle with my Graphic Card 'innerds' - Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS.Could someone give me some idea as to where I should be investigating, please? Apart from the mirror :( Ken

Hello,For a while, I had both FS9 and FSX installed and decided to remove FSX as I was not using it much.On checking if FS9 is still working, voila, it does not. As soon as the logo screen appears, it disappears and nothing happens.Any ideas on how to fix this, would be most welcome.Henk.

Hi,maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm thinking about replacing Pentium IV 3.6 GHz CPU with a faster one. This will then be a dual-core type or quad-core-type. (I know...... I will have to replace the motherboard as well)As I understand not all programmes (software) will be affected by such a change as they aren't programmed to que up tasks with multi-core-technology.What about FS9 ? If I replace the single 3.6 GHz CPU with lets say a Core 2 duo 3.33 GHz - which should result in about 6 GHz processor speed; will I get a FS9 performance in accordance with this upgrade ?Carl

Hi folks, I am using FS9 with VOZ Australian scenery and am having a problem flying from Sydney to Brisbane in the PMDG 737 9000 NG. When I get close to brisbane the Sim goes to a black screen then shuts down. I thought I may have had 2 landclass files activated for the area but that was not the problem. I remember seeing someting about this on their forums but as they no longer appear to exist I hope someone may have the solution.Does anyone know what is going on with VOZ for FS9 all their sites are gone or go to the payware FSX version. I have just acquired a computer that is able to run FS9 at full tilt so I don't intend going back to a slide show on FSX.Hope you can h…

Hi. I've been abroad for several months - and this is my first post in the reincarnated forums! What a pleasure to be able to get back here: thanks to everyone's hard work at AVSIM...OK, I just installed a new scenery for LEST:www.simugalicia.com/noticias/Novedad-_-Aeropuerto-de-Santiago-de-Compostela-LEST-para-FS9.htmlIt looks pretty nice, but I am a bit nonplussed at the huge number of extra bitmaps that the instructions (assuming I understood the Spanish) say to put into the main FS9/texture folder - well over 2000 of them. Some of these (the Nova ones) I have already, but even so, this almost doubles the size of the folder. Even when I do put the files into the FS9 ma…

I use the default ATC for now, but I'm getting fed up ,when after an IFR flight, say into KBOS but could be anywhere, I'm instructed to "go round" when about 500ft to t.d. Now I know from real life experience a Cessna 180 would get a go round if a commercial was up behind it, in the sim I'm getting the reverse, a 767-300 giving way to a 180. I've taken to turning the comm off and just landing but that's not an answer, any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers.

Hi fellow simmers,Recently I was fortunate to be offered a short flight in a Cessna 150, OY-BJF. I downloaded the very nice Fravin Cessna150, and would like to repaint it to resemble the Cessna I flew in. However, the paintkit is not (yet) available here in the AVSIM library (BIG THANKS for bringing the library back :(!! ), and I would like to know if anyone knows where it can be found. Thanks, airfin

Has anyone seen a good freeware package that accurately depicts the scenery in between Los Angeles and Vegas? I've been looking but haven't found anything yet. There is a quality to that desert that just hasn't been captured...that is as far as I know. Please advise and thanks!Mark

^Sorry, title should be Air Hauler v FS PassengersHi,I currently use FS Passengers which I think is great fun but i have been tempted by the Air Hauler package as it seems to offer more complexity and you can choose offers of flights rather than just make up your own. From the reviews I have read it looks like Air hauler just deals with cargo rather than passengers, is this correct? If Air Hauler does only deal with moving cargo, can it be used at the same time with FS Passengers which deals with the passenger side of things such as ticket numbers and in-flight requests & comfort? Thanks

Hello:I fly the FS2004 Digital Aviation cheyenne frequently and try to fly it as realistically as possible. For those who use this aircraft I hope you could help me!With autopilot on and after arming altitude I have trouble using the FD/AP Vertical Trim Switch to properly trim for a climb or descent. After one click up or down I sometimes get a sudden climb or descent of 2000-3000 fpm. Other times it takes many clicks to get any change in climb or descent! I usually calculate my descent rate in order to arrive at the proper altitude at specific waypoints, but using the trim switch is a real challenge. Do "real" Cheyenne pilots use this switch? Wouldn't the trim wheel do …

I've been trying for 4 hours with NO luck.... UNCLE !! Would someone PLEASE take a look at my panel.cfg and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to install a HSI (Horozonal Situation Indicator) gauge that will UNDOCK so that I can drag it over onto my Old Style DH-2 Beaver VERTUIAL cockpit. I know how and I have installed a Garmin -500 GPS and a Cessna 182 "Radio stack" that will UNDOCK. All of the HSI gauges that I can find are part of a "Mini Panel" and I don't know how to cut out just the HSI gauge and get it to where it will UNDOCK.Please take a look at my inclosures below and see if you can help me. Thanks jerrycwo4P.S. The "system" will not let me UPLOA…

Due to my work commitments flying is sporadic. I generally start a flight an hour befoe i go to sleep, wake up, save flight and continue after work. The problem is when i wake up i'm half a continent off course I always fly IFR, and during the flight ATC vectors me this way and that way every 15-20 mins hence while i sleep i miss all these course changes and end up god knows where. I then have to create a new IFR route to get back on track. So my qestion is, how can i stay on course while sleeping? can auto pilot acknowledge and follow ATC without me having to wake up every 15 mins to do it manually. I fly the Overland 747 and MD11 (no FMC) .. i have seen on a few differe…
