I recently had a computer problem that blocked me from going on-line. After what Best Buy calls a "quick fix" (and it was) internet access was restored. However...The first time I started FS9 I recieved a startup notice that over 50 scenery files where not recognized. 50 plus!Further examination revealed that some add-on airport scenery folders had 'lost' their contents! (scenery/texture).Also...all afcads...modified AND share-ware (UK2000/Aerosoft/Blueprint/etc) had defaulted to MS FS9! Example: I had turned back the clock at Travis AFB to include parking for a/c from the 50's as well as modern using the afcad created in 2008 byJim Cook. That one defaulted as well, empyi…

The Skysimulations DC-9 is a wonderful plane, not quite a PMDG, but my favourite classic. Although it works quite well on my system, there are some little bits and pieces that need fixing in order to turn this excellent bird into a gem. However, since there's no support forum and nobody has mentioned this product any longer, I started worrying. Can anyone tell me any news? Is the company still alive? Is there an update for the FS9 bird? How about some more textures. How about that Aero Mexico livery that is presented on the homepage? How about some more classic 60/70s liveries like TWA, Swissair, Austrian, Republic, etc., just to name a few?In the meantime, I'm flying in …

Hi all, I just updated fs9 with 9.1. Everything seems to be ok except When I fly the PMDG 747, the nav display is erroneous. It randomly swings and doesn't show any movement while flying.There is no way to navigate. I am running Vista 64 bit. Is there anyone who has experienced this after the update? or any ideas how to fix it? Doug Morlan :(

I've got reflections clicked in the FS9 configuration under aircraft tab...I used to get reflections on certain payware aircraft and textures (like Legacy etc), but it seems I can't get the reflections to show...I'm using REX2 as well. I may have disabled or deleted a texture or an effect file a few months ago...not sure which one or what combination gives that wispy kind of reflection off of aircraft. Hey everyone, I will most likely post over at the forums for the maddog2008, but had a question if someone here can help. After starting the MD80, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the generators on line. This forces me to stay at the gate of course and go nowhere. I thought after the engines are started, the gens should be on at that point. Resetting them does nothing. I have flown very complex aircraft, but this dog has me stumped. I also will have to read the manual further but any help is greatly appreciated. :) Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks in advance.

Hi,Today I had an opportunity to fly the FSD Navajo and although the first impressions of the model are positive, I cannot get over both engines failure, a few minutes after the take off. Maybe I somehow overstress the engines by running them at full power but should they go off after such a short time? I tried to reduce throttle during a climb but it actually lenghten the engines lifetime by 1-2 minute so this is not the way :)What else do I do wrong and what should I do to let the engines operate during the whole flight? Of course, I set the realism setting to maximum and I am not willing to reduce it at all.I will be grateful for your help.Kind regards.

HiI have strange problem with taxy lights, but only in VC.If I Turn ON taxy light, I cannot see anything in front of me (white and to bright)And only in Virtual cockpit.Can anybody share lights section from cfg file.Thanks in advanceEdin

Has anyone got a backup solution to my little problem? I make occasional image backups (Norton Ghost or similar) of my FS9 PC, but that's not an everyday thing - takes too long. I also make a backup once every week or two, onto an external drive, of my whole FS9 installation (via a batch script which replaces any changed files every time I run it). So, if I accidentally delete or change something, I can get it back by copying the files from the external drive. Like many, my setup is now sop tweaked and complicated that I don't think I could ever get it back, starting from scratch.My problem is that one or two programmes seem very 'delicate' - such as FSHotSFX (wouldn't ru…

Hi Gang.Just a quickie if I may.What do you guy's have you're mip mapping set to inside FS's Hardware menu.Mine is at 4. What happens if you go lower, and the same for if you go higher.I think the highest is 8 isn't it?Thanks for any info.

l have installed FSX De Lux in my computer running Windows 7 and it works fine ( l think) .However since l am new with FSX l am kind of lost with basic things line .1. How do l minimize the FSX window .2. What about the tools used with FS9 , like AFCAD , Flattex , Ez_scenery and the like . Are there new versions available . l have been looking around the net and couldn't find anything .Thanks replies

Hello everyone.My fs9 is crashing when I try to open 'Flight Planner'.It was running fine till this morning on my 32 bit vista system.Then I installed gauges of a new panel and this problem started.I removed the gauges individually, but the problem is still there. If I just press 'fly now' it works fine, but the flight planner section causes it to crash. Please help!!

Considering realism, complexity and features, what would you consider as the best biz jet you have in your add-on arsenal?For me it has to be the Feelthere Legacy EMB-135BJ and the Wilco 737-300 with the N368CE private livery found on Avsim.

Does anyone know where I could find flightplans for Ameriflight? I've searched everywhere and all I've managed to find are dead links. I'd love to fill in the missing gaps in places like KON, PHX, and PDX. Thanks in advance for any help.Markus

l have been designing an airport with afcad and everything works fine except Although l have inserted a Tower Viewpoint in afcad , when l press S to switch to tower view , l get a distant view from another airport .What have l ommited ?Thanks replies

All of a sudden I'm experiencing a rudder issue - all aircraft load with the rudder stuck at full right deflection. Happens with both FS9 and payware aircraft; with and without a joystick connected; and the NUM-5 key won't center the rudder (it'll spring briefly to center then back to full deflection when I release the key). I've tried changing the default flight and aircraft. I've got autorudder selected in FS9 (I don't use pedals) and FSUIPC (paid version) set to eliminate control spikes. I've tried rebuilding FS9.cfg as well as FSUIPC.ini with no luck. I've been using FS9 since it came out and this has me baffled. Haven't loaded any software recently which could …

I purchased the Rise of Flight game a few days ago and am totally frustrated with this game.I have been trying to configure my CH cntroller with no success. There is no manual containing instructions to help.The forum on their is full of people with many problems, the game is full of bugs.My advise is: D'ONT BUY IT.I am supprised that Avsim would advertise this terrible software.Paul

Hi guys,I'm looking to purchase REX for FS2004, however I would like to use Active Sky's weather engine and also its sky colours, as I find REX a tad too blue for my liking.I know many are using Active Sky to generate the weather, however I'm not sure if anyone is using REX for everything EXCEPT the sky textures. My question is can the above combo be done and if so, does it involve manual swapping of files, or can it just be done via options on both Active Sky and REX FS2004?Thanks in advance for any tips, advice and help!

I just purchased Real Environment Extreme for FS2004. I downloaded from their link (FlightSim Store in Australia) and when it completed I get a failure on a CRC error when attempting to unzip the file. I have donwloaded it again and get the same error. I have tried to extract using WinZip, WinRar, and IZArc all to no avail. Anyone else had a problem?I sent off a ticket with the FlightSim Store folks but being Christmas I don't hold much hope I can fly with this over the Holidays. Very frustrating..John
