HiThis is probably a really dumb question that's probably been asked lots of times here, but I couldn't see it in the Tutorial section so here goes... Am I right in thinking a separate program is needed so you can add downloaded freeware/payware aircraft into fs9? I've just bought it and altho I'm a total newcomer, I did see fs9 used back when it first came out when a work colleague had it, and I'm sure you couldn't just cut and paste the new plane files into the fs9 folder like you can with other sims.I'd be grateful if someone could tell me if this is the case or not. I thought I should ask before I go looking for planes!Thanks

After 3 weeks fighting to update my older GE Pro v2.00 to v 2.13 I gave up and RE-purchased it. On their forum, http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=2 I was advised that I didn't have to do that and they refunded my $49.95 for the v 2.13 that I downloaded and installed. They didn't have to tell me. It's a pleasure doing business with a company like that ! jerrycwo4

I'm trying to add aircraft but every time i want to save it, it shows me "Cannot create the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Boeing 777\Aircraft.cfg file. I have this problem only with vista, when i use it with XP i have no problems.Thanks

Everyone know what a pain it is to manually type in all the waypoints from A to B on a long flight .Which is why we have route finder. Enter the ICAO codes and it find all the legs for you but most importantly at the bottom is an abbreviated version of the route which shows the airways as well as the the legs. Instead of entering 30 waypoints into the FMC on a long flight we go to the RTE page and select the first way point on the right with DCT for direct on the left. Airways on the left and where that airways finished on the right. Simple - no! not always! Often depending on the AIRAC cyle some airways are missing and so are some waypoints. I was hoping if there were any frame rate friendly 3D clouds (detailed clouds) that anyone knows of. I have a mid-high system but can't seem to run the 3D clouds. Any help?? :(

Hello all. I was quite frustrated recently, about to finish a perfect flight from MGA to LPB when, upon touchdown, the gear of my 757 sunk into the Bolivian ground, and crashed.I thought this error might be because of scenery I added, so I deleted the scenery, deleted any updated AFCADs, leaving stock scenery/AFCAD - and re-tested. Still, on landing (using a variety of aircraft) - the wheels inevitably magically sink into the terrain. Interestingly enough, the planes take off fine - it is just on landing that they crash.Any known fixes/work arounds for this? Hi all. I am new to the forums here and have no idea if this has been mntioned before.I am wondering why I can't see my aircraft's shadow in the virtual cockpit but I can see other aircraft's shadows and I can see shadows from buildings all in the VC. I can see my shadow in the spot view, but not in the VC view. Is there any way to be able to see it? I make videos for YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/airbusandmustang) and I like to make them as realistic as possible. The fact that I can't see the shadow is starting to ###### me off. I want it like FSX where in the VC you can see it and use it to (kind of) judge your altitude when on final.Any help?? :(

This is probably an easy one. I've had TrackIR4 for over a year now (can't imagine ever flying without it) and simply use the keyboard F12 key to center my head relative to the VC position. Instead of using the keyboard, I'd like to program a button on either the joystick or throttle. I tried FSUIPC (registered version)--the menu where you assign a button/switch to a keyboard selection, but when I hit F12, it didn't register as anything in FSUIPC so I couldn't set it. Once again,for no explicable reason,flying an LDS767-300ER,cruisng at FL370,with LNAV and VNAV engaged,the aircraft goes overspeed all of a sudden,and FS9 crashes due to overstress.When trying to re-start at a saved flight,I get an fscrew38.gau error.I have no idea what it is and the FS2Crew Forums have not been of much help either.Therefore,anyone with any idea what this error is,or how to resolve it,because I'm within a hairsbreath of slinging the whole FS9 software and et al into the bin,as I am so fed-up with buggy software!But I'm putting my trust in someone far more knowledgeable than I being able to keep my interest in this hobby alive much longer.RICK

HiAfter new install of 64bit OS I tested fs9 with long range flight (PMDG B747) and everything worked OK, no mem leak or anything.Now I'm curious what do You think about Ultimate terrain USA&Canada, is it worth it.Main consideration is possible memory leak. I don't want to have any memory leak after installation. Don You experience any?On flight EDDF (EDDF 2008+UT Europe)-KJFK (DreamTeam) maximum memory usage was 1.2Gb which is OK.Also in case of buying should I have a problems after installation UT USA above all the paywares I have?Or should I move UT USA bellow all scenery's I have (via scenery settings in FS2004-move down)? Hi allI am currently using a freeware INS, but as weknow we need to enter the exact position of each way points in our flight plan for INS to work.I am just woundering how do I get the default FS2004map to display the exact position of my way points (withina flight plan made by the default flight plan generator in fs2004)Thanks

I was just cruising the various FS9 subfolders in the Addon Scenery folder and discovered that my Addon scenery/texture folder is empty. The Addon scenery/scenery folder has various .bgls but the texture folder has nothing. Can this cause a problem?ThanksRich Perry

HiFirst, let me thank the authors of (Sidney Schwartz, Peter Ham and Don Grovestine) these two freeware sceneries for their contribution.I had no problem with CYYJ V5.02 as far as I remember.I installed CYZF last week and noticed that I was getting a CTD (terrain.dll or g3d.dll) when loading the scenery. The bar would not go past 0%...I installed the new CYYJ and notice the same problem with this new scenery. I have no problem when loading the neighbour YVR!I then reinstalled the previous vesion of CYYJ (with which I had no problem) and got the same issue!I finally realized that everything was working fine if I was loading another scenery before and than was moving to CYZ…

I have just transferred all my aircraft, gauges, effects etc from my XP computer to my new Windows 7 machine. All the aircraft go across and the panels and the sound but in many cases no gauges. I have downloaded the Zip files again and still when placing the files in the appropriate folders the gauges are lost. With some I have used the installation file but still no gauges.Now flying dozens of good gaugeless aircarft. What should I do?

Hello,Has anyone purchased any of the World Sceneries products? I picked up their Amazonia a while back and wanted to pick up one or two more from Simmarket. Unfortunately the two websites Simmarket shows as World Sceneries support are no longer working. I do not have any AFCAD2's or updates for the Amazonia package and was wondering how can I get updates if I purchase others??? Is their a site with their support files (public) or if someone has them can you e-mail them to me and/or tell me if their is an update for Amazonia, Wonderful Rio and their other packages.On a side note, I e-mailed simmarket and they said they have no heard from the vendor in two years. …

I thought google earth would show movement as the airplane flew but all I get is a "still shot" and FS9 goes to "pause". Shouldn't the two work together and show acft movement over the ge environment?

What are your favorite files for airport buildings, autogen buildings, and autogen trees?I am kind of tired of the cartoony looking buildings that FS9 generates. I am looking to increase the visual affect of the autogen creation from FS9.

I'm on approach to a airport reporting 4 mile visibilty or less and I'm at 20 miles out on ILS approach. I can see the runway clearly. Then on final approach about 1000' AGL i get whats reported. What is causing it. I have Activesky 6.5, FSUIPC, GE Pro, Flight Enviroment, Ulitmate Terrain serris. Thanks for your time. I know it's setting somewhere.Scooter

I've had GEPro for a couple of years, but like a dummy I never installed anything but the 3-4 default sets. I have now read all of the instructions and I see how much I have been missing by not making more sky/ground sets. If you have a number of these sets made for differant cloud types, does the computer RANDOMLY pick one? ( I think you can manully pick one if you want to). When I start GE Pro it goes thru a lengthy "download" or "install" of files so does it take longer for this if you have more sets made?Would a few people tell me how many sets of Ground and Sky textues that you have made? Greetings all, Sometime ago I said goodbye to fs9 in favour of FSX, recently I reinstalled fs9 on another drive all was well as I had kept most of my payware fs9 downloads which included ASv6.5.I installed ASv6.5 and got it running opened fs9 then just about every airport in the world crashed, sometimes ctrl+alt+del worked OK but most of the time required a full computer reboot.I have limited addons some aircraft and MAIW packages, none of these caused the problem as it will happen at a default airport as well as Nellis AFB maxed out with aircraft for example.Flight Sim 2004 9.1 upgrade.Windows XP Pro.P4 3.2GHzNvidia 8 series GT 512 MB latest driverCreative sound Card.I d…

So I did a hop from Miami to a small Carribean island, 1390nm. My tanks read empty as a came in to land.The King air should be able to make 1500nm IIRC.I was cruising at FL290, 450lb/h fuel flow, 1600 RPM.Obviously I need to drop that, but by how much? What is a good throttle setting to maximize range?Thanks for any tips.
