I keep getting notices to upgrade to AVG 9.A while back there were some concerns expressed here, about it.Are there any recent opinions as to it being safe, relative to FS9?Alex Reid

Hey helpfull people. I'm in desperate need of help. I replaced my fs9 cloud textures to a less demanding set but they're giving me a major problem. Now when I try and load up a flight, it loads to 77% (loading weather) part, then crashes. I have backed my old files but I want to know why this is happening. It is a DXT3 replacment freeware set, I followed all instructions and enabled "render to texture". Any thoughts?thanks

Great aircraft and panelI can couple the autopilot to fly a fs9 flight plan using the AUX/NAV position but cannot get the flight director to follow this course whatever position I have the fd switch in.Any ideas anybody?Works ok with the very similar tinmouse panel.Regards Mike

Hi Folks.I have an annoying habit, not me, the sim!!. When I point at some switches etc. with my mouse in the VC I find that other parts of the VC windows pop up. That is to say, if I point at say the glareshield switches then perhaps the center pedestal or some other part of the display that makes up the flightdeck will open up in the bottom half of the screen. This happens in both FS9 and FSX and with various aircraft.Is this a graphics card fault, a cfg file setting or an FS setting that I may have overlooked? Does anyone else experience this anomoly?Regards to all...Ken

Hi peeps,I am getting the following error (pop up box) at random, with PMDG 737's and CS757 (so far)UNABLE TO OPEN CHILD WINDOWFS9 then CTD.when in the VC and clicking on the ND display to bring it up in its own window.I have just bought a new gfxcard (ATI) but it is still happening. (I didn't but the card to try and eradicate the problem!) I had a NVIDIA 9600GT before hand.Any ideas?ThanksJonny M

Hey guys,This may seem like a trivial thing, but I want to know why it's happening nonetheless. I have done a complete reinstall of FS2004, and I don't want to have to do it again. Anyway, the issue:The splash screen seems to be drawn about 10 pixels too high. This results in a portion of it being seen after loading is complete and I'm at the main menu. The weird thing is that this 10 pix high portion disappears if I go into the "create a flight" submenu, but it is there in all other submenus if I don't go to "create a flight" first. The reason for my concern, is that this happened in my previous FS2004 install too, and that install burned and crashed at a certain moment.…

After installing Windows 7 32 bit, I've installed Fs9 no serious problems.However, I can't get any engine sound, I can hear clicking sounds as I activate switches etc. and can see the engine fan turning normally but no sound?I think it must be something to do with the aircraft.cfg not communicating with the sound folder.If anyone can help that would be great, I'm at a loss on how to proceedJust a thought, the Default Cessne 172 engine sounds are loud and clear,Ken

If you like puzzles, this may interest you:My Wife at the moment is on US Airways flight 391 from KCLT to KLAS, an Airbus 321.I decided to duplicate the flight with FS2004 simulation and fly along with her from the data displayed by the FlightAware site: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AWE391I selected the PSS/IFDG Airbus 321. I set my takeoff time to match her real time. I also matched the flight path of flight 391 as closely as possible. I was unable to find the waypoints for the Zaver One Departure (SID) in FSNav, FSC, or the FMC, so I interprelated the SID as closely as possible. All on route waypoints are the same, as well as the TYSSN TWO Arrival (STAR) within 20…

I'm enjoying flying the heavies into Fly Tampa's TNCM but there doesn't seem to be much high quality payware (or freeware!) scenery for anywhere else nearby. I don't have time for long hauls and I'm not a big fan of time compression so can anyone recommend a destination with decent scenery within say 45 minutes' range of St Maarten?

NZScenery recommends Christian Stock's NZ mesh - the 150 & 75m is said to be freeware, and all links I find are to here:http://www.geographx.co.nz/downloads.htmlbut I don't see any terrain mesh there. (Am I going blind??).Can anyone say where this mesh can be downloaded from? I already have FS Genesis NZ mesh - maybe that is basically so similar that I don't need the Christian Stock mesh - but then again, maybe not??Thanks,Martin

I reinstalled FS9, now I have this mess when I am panning around. I did not touch the driver settings and it never did this before.Thanks for any insight.

My scenery.cfg file has 1106 areas. Not that I have more than a small percentage active at any one time (even so, some will think that excessive maybe?!) - I use a very neat little programme called Scenery Align (AVSIM) to activate/deactivate scenery blocks according to where I am flying - takes just a mouse-click.But it appears there's a limit to the number of areas that can appear in the Settings/Scenery Library within FS9. I searched the web on this, and people say there is a limit/there isn't a limit depending where you look (usual sort of story!). The last 6 entries in my scenery.cfg file (that is, the ones with highest priority, 1106, 1105 etc.) don't appear in the …

Hi Everyone, Firstly apologies if this has been covered before. Hand on Heart I have trawled the forums looking for an answer to this. Can anyone tell me the best drivers for FS9 using an 9800gtx+ I am ordering a new computer tommorrow and I want to make sure everything is set up correctly. In most of my aircraft, I can move the eyepoint in the VC from left to right using Ctrl+Shft+Bkspc, and from right to left using Ctrl+Shft+Enter. In some aircraft, for example the Dreamfleet A36, the above combinations also move the eyepoint down (either direction).My eyepoint assignments are made in the controls section of FS9. I've checked FSUIPC to make sure there are no conflicting assignments.Any ideas on how to get rid of downward movement of the eyepoints when moving right or left?Dale

For the last 2 months I've had some very strange FS9 behavior...the AP will just shut down for no known (to me) reason. At first I thought it was restricted to the CS Legendary (in who's mind??) C-130. Then it seemed to be around Haiti. Now I'm not too sure, I've had the AP/Avionics shut down in the CS C-130 and the Feelthere Caravan. My thought that it was only around Haiti (scenery?) got blown out by my current flight in Venezuela in the CS C-130...I was reaching cruise altitude and the AP just shut down. I had to "Shift+A" to get the avionics back up and running...very weird!Anybody ever heard of or experienced this weirdness before??

Hi,I have recently purchased Walk & Follow and have a strange problem that whenever I change to an external view the clouds do not show for a while. After a few seconds they start to reappear gradually. Is this normal or is there something I can change to help fix this?thanksKeith

Hey guys, when having a flight im getting blocks in the terrain and when flying over water. They are in the distance but there getting on my nerves as it has just started to happen :( . I did have tileproxy installed but didnt use it so uninstalled it. It made me wonder if this was the cause but not sure. Is it something to do with sight distance....oh i dont know, also when panning from vc/2d there is a delay where i see these blocks, light brown over terrain, light blue over water, any ideas guys???Regards,Chris
