I have recently had a problem with my computer and I am currently running XP with SP1. The problem wont allow me to install later service packs. This seems to have affected FS9 in that Squawkbox wont connect to the multiplayer sessions and in FS9 the Multi-Player session button is greyed out. Is there anything I can do?Neil Bradley

Hi guys and galsI just created an AFCAD for an airport I noticed was missing in FS9, LEHC, but the area where it's supposed to sit is anything but flat, so some portions of the runways look buried in the ground. Besides the area is clogged with trees and houses.Is there a way to find where to place it?Thanks in advance

I need the taskbar for certain features access, and I cannot get it to show on my monitor. Do I need to scrap the Gateway monitor? I have another brand monitor and it works fine on it- Both are LCD Flat screens BTWThanksDennis Robart

I'm not sure "memory dumps" is the right term, but here's what I'm referring to. As you can see by my signature, I have a pretty decent computer and fly with the FS9 sliders maxed out. Even so, as an example, when I fly coast-to-coast using a payware aircraft such as LDS or PMDG, - day turns to night, weather and clouds are constantly changing enroute, doing numerous view changes (from 2D, to outside, to VC and back and forth), make changes to the FMC while enroute, input the STAR, on-and-on, a lot of things have taken a toll on the memory. I've got both but would like to uninstall FSX without impacting FS9--what's the best way to do it? Do I need to repair the FS9 registry after uninstalling FSX? As a side note, I run FSX in DX10 and have GEX, UTX, ASA, REX. I run nhancer for both FSX and FS9. We are a group of Simmers using FS9 on PC. Three individuals are interested in joining us, but are Mac operators.I wonder whether FS9 is availbale for MAC. If so , where would be the best place to purchase . I heard of BOOTCAMP, which will allow a Mac (with Intel) to do the job. Any information on the subject will be appreciatedBob.*

I have had this issue for some years and have so far just lived with it, as there is no impact on the aircraft itself, but maybe it's easily fixed?All my addon aircraft (as far as I can see, I may be wrong - but it's widespread if not)) suffer from the fact that when the engines are running the rudder wobbles rapidly from side to side all the time. When I switch engines off, it stops. I can also stop it by loading a default aircraft (e.g. Cessna) and then reloading the original plane.It is nothing to do with my Saitek X52 I think, as it happens whether that is plugged in or not.Anyone any ideas about this? I installed FS9 under windows 7. Everything works perfect with the exception that sometimes I cannot get back to the simulator after leaving to the desktop.I normally hit ALT TAB and get back to the windows desktop or any program that is open.What happens is that afterwards I cannot get back to FS9, I press ALT TAB, but FS9 is not in the alternatives to choose.It is still showing as active in the small icons on the bar in the lower left corner. If I press it, it tells me that another version is running that I need to quit to open another.This is specially bothersome as sometimes I left to check a SID Map and I cannot get back to the simulation, on which I already spent 20…

Hi I posted a question at Eiresim a while ago but got no result. I was wondering if anyone here could help me out.I want to buy their Dublin & Shannon (they look beautiful) but since I mostly do cross country VFR I'd really like the rest of the country to go with the airports. That looks like photographic scenery in the background of their screenshots (or is it just my optimism?). Where can I get hold of it? I live not far from the Welsh coast (can see their clouds) & having only Wales & England photoreal leaves FS9 feeling a bit truncated. Anybody else get this Microsloth Runtime C+++ Error?Had a nice flight going out of San Diego, flew VFR up the coast to John Wayne County airport and literally just before touchdown Microsoft's reality hits me in the face with a dialogue box;Runtime Error!R605-pure virtual function callEgads! I feel sure that it is a good model. I have several of their planes including the Bonanzas and the Mooney. I'm wondering if the Saratoga would be enough different to purchase it. It is indeed a beauty. I thought I would check with some other folks before taking the leap. Any input is appreciated.

I have my eye on Saitek's Pro Flight Switch Panel for use with FS9, although it was made for FSX there is a tool (software) that will enable it for FS9. I just want to know if it works in FS9 properly. The reason is that I recently purchased Saitek's Throttle Quadrant and have spent way too much time trying to set it up using FSUIPC registered copy and have had no success at all. The fact that FS9 Seems to make changes to what I do when I am not looking. so I am not about to waste more money. So feel free to jump in on both counts by all means. Is there such a thing? I've already spent tons of hours re-nstalling and getting FS9 back up and running half decent (so far as AI goes). Would be nice if one month I actually get to start flying.Would also be nice if there was a program that could automatically scan flight plans according to perimiters set up by the user that would find duplicate flights and then delete one of the offenders. Doing it by hand with thousands upon thousands of flight plans is out of the question.Oh well. Thanks again!

So, I'm a long time FS9 simmer, and I am really into military operations. Now, I haven't flown since about late 07, but I had 3 years of simming with FS9, pretty much since it came out. Now, I'm looking at getting back into teh hobby, but I wanted to try something different and join a Virtual Air Force. The questions is, is FS9 still viable for that? Or has everyone jumped ship and gone to FSX?Anybody who knows of any VAF's that specialise in carrier ops or just teh best ones would be great to know, if people could fill me in.Thanks guys.

In my flightsim scenery, Heathrow has a crossing runway. But in the real word there is no crossing runway, just the two 9'S/27's L&R. Was the crossing runway closed in the real world or never developed and is an error in FS9? It seems in the real world it is a taxiway.

I got excbuilderV2 from here on Feb. 19th & have been using until it stopped working yesterday & produced these 3 error messages: Error C2471 - unrecoverable error loading schema, Internal compiler error C1010 failed to load XSD, & C2003 failed to process file. It used to produce bgl files but that stopped yesterday so I tried David Opa Marshall's tip in his tutorial but that didn't work of course. I've d/l it again & reinstalled/rerun it but still get the same messages. Can anybody tell me what the problem might be? I Thanks, Terry.

What is the best way to record a flight where all angles are captured? Is it simply to use the built in FS recording option or is there something better?

I'm thinking about buying some Just Flight British Airports for FS2004 but I already have a couple big payware airports that support Aerosoft's AES. Can I use both of these togather? What will happen if I install them over the top of the two big payware airports ? Thanks jerrycwo4

A few years ago, i used a freeware program to create flight plans for my ai traffic. It was very user friendly where you inputed dep and arrival airport. Ticked the days of the week the flight was to operate and selected the dep and arrival times. A drop down box would let you select which of your aircraft to operate the flight. You could then use that program with Ttools to create a new traffic file. Problem is that I can't remember what it was called. Can anyone remember or have an idea where to download this program from.Many thanks for your helpDarren

Apologies if you have read this elsewhere but my problem was buried within another thread so hope giving the subject it's own topic will furnish some opinions!?I have done lots of reading/research the last week about how fs renders scenery and horizons but have found no mention of what I'm witnessing......When flying in mountainous areas, the horizon seems to "ripple", "shimmer" or "tear" as new mountains are rendered into view. The effect can clearly be seen by setting up the sim at KSEA on 34R, unlimited vis, no clouds and looking at the far horizon. The mountain range in the far distance displays these attributes although it sometimes settles down when stationary.Anoth…

Why have I got 2 of the same AI aircraft going to the same place at the same time for every AI A/C? eg. Ryanair flight 43 to oslo departs at 3:23pm, 2 of the same flight go out everytime, any reason for this and is there a way of sorting it out?thanks planenutter
