If you are like me and have a dedicated flight sim computer, I use no antivirus software, as I check everything I download before transferring it to my sim computer.I use Black Vipers "things to turn off" for maximum performance.But, if you ever want to run a non intrusive malware scan on your dedicated sim computer, as I do from time to time, first, install Revo uninstaller.It is excellent freeware.Then download free edition Malwarebytes.Install Revo first.Then install Malwarebytes free edition.Update free definitions from Mbytes.Scan drive c:Use Revo uninstaller to immediatly unistall Mbytes after scanning.When unistalling, select advanced unistall when Revo offers you …

Has anyone else had problems updating DBS Airport GPS to version 1.4? I could install vr 1.0 OK and then update it to vr 1.2. I could NOT update vr 1.2 to either: 1.2.3 or 1.3 or 1.4. This has been a really frustrating program for me to work with, but when it works, it really making Radar Contact 4 easy to use. Thanks jerrycwo4

Hello everyone recently I've installed FS9 again after coming from FSX but I seem to have an issue that I can't seem to resolve! No matter what CFG tweaks I've tried or settings on Nhancer I can't seem to eliminate blurry ground textures beyond a mile or so I've had my sim running a lot better before I replaced my new video card I'm starting to wonder if my problem is a graphics card issue?I've had and seen screenshots of crisp textures as far as the eye can see on FS9 but mine just doesnt want to play ball.. I have the Imaginesim KEWR scenery, and it's wonderful, but for some reason, the default KEWR terminals are in the same place so the terminal area is completely messed up. There are planes in the default KEWR buildings. The Imaginesim stuff works fine, but I don't get why the default scenery is messing up the add-on scenery. This never happens with other scenery files. Help please!By the way, I searched online on how to fix this problem and people said to make "an exclusion zone" or SCANAFD. I tried SCAN AFD but there was no old KEWR AFCADs and I have no idea how to make an exclusion zone. So please, help! If you can make an exclusion BGL for KEWR, that would be great! Th…

I have some time ago got hold of Wilco's Airbus Volume 2. Since, I didn't really look at it anymore, because there are other planes I'm trying to master first. Another reason was that eric Marciano's module for Volum 2 was not finished yet. It is supposed to fix some remaining stuff in the MCDU and FMGC. Now, it has been finished and it is released. However, it's also pretty expensive, and I would like to know from people that purchased it, if it's worth the money.One note though: do not post just to tell me this aircraft package is crap, or say that I should use the PSS or CLS offerings. I just installed windows xp 64 bit pro sp1 :( , mother board drivers, Ati 9-8_xp64_dd_ccc_enu.exe ,NetFx64.exe ,and dxwebsetup.exe. Reboted then installed fs9 all files :( . The system shows all of my 4gb of ram and everything seems to be working as in keyboard etc.Then started fs9 and everything works fine except that, I am getting about half the about of frame rates :( that I was getting with windows xp pro 32 bit.I tired changing my frame rate tab to unlimited and it didn't seem to effect anything.My question is for those that use B) windows xp 64 bit pro what do I need to do that is different from a windows xp pro 32 bit os set up ,besides making sure the drivers …

People have probably talked about this all the time, but since the info seems scattered all over the place, I still opted to just ask it again. The situation is as follows: I reinstalled Windows. Everything I need often is now installed, and includes most of my normal productivity apps. I now want to install FS2004. I think the install may end up being over 20GB, so I'm hesitant to install it on my C drive. Since I use a laptop, the C drive isn't too big, and I don't have any other internal drives. I do have a big external drive that has a dedicated partition for running FS2004. However, now that I'm anyway reinstalling, I was wondering if people could advise on what the …

Hi,Does anyone know a way to implement the AI traffic map (as found with the 2004 Traffic Toolbox SDK, or similar) in a second PC using WideFS? (Freeware preferred) I would quite like to have that "ATC radar" style view there when watching AI for AFCAD testing etc. Having the Traffic Map (or indeed Explorer) open in the FS window makes horrid stutters as it updates it's list!Cheers,Geoff

Hi fellow simmers,Recently I have started playing with the atc-feature in FS2004.And it works fairly ok. But there is one problem.I had completed a flight earlier on, with a flightplan and with atc. After landing and taxiing to the stand I have shutdown the plane as usual and after that I have saved the flight.Now I want to load that same flight in fs2004 and file an new flightplan. There is no problem creating it and loading it in fs2004. I even get to see it in the gps-gauge. But now I try to contact ground to get an atc-clearance. However the only option I get is "1 select progressive taxi". There are no other options like "request ifr-clearance".Appearantly with atc m…

I was on a flight from EKVG into EGPH, and as I approached Edinburgh from the North, I started getting very strange blocky water textures.The river was a nice dark blue, but I had big blocks of almost tropical blue textures mixed in.As I was landing, the cloud textures went mad too. I am using REX textures with ASE providing the engine.What I saw was runway designators, PAPIs, runway numbers etc............ all in the correct white cloud colour floating in the sky. Really surreal. The CLS model is good, but what about the Overland A330's stunning VC? You choose, i have had CLS w/PSS panel and well, it has A/THR problems when climbing, while overland is good, its does feel as realistic model as CLS.

Hi,I fly FS9 (9.1) with Windows 7 - 64 bit and LevelD 767. I notice that after some time flying my computer memory increases from the initial 500-600 Mb to over 1 Gb. When it reaches about 1.6 Gb FS crashes, with the out of memory error message.Three things I can't understand:1. Why doesn't FS9 flush the memory over time but keeps adding and adding, so that the used ram increases more and more?2 (most important). I have 6 Gb of Ram and when FS crashes there are still 2-3 Gb of free Ram. Why does it crash, then???? I read of people getting OOM crashes when FS reaches 3 Gb, not 1.6! I'm trying to setup a WideFS Network between my 2 PC's. If I disable Windows 7 Firewall the Network works fine. My Router has it's own firewall but I'm not sure if that's the way to go?Is there a way to allow my Windows 7 Firewall to operate and allow my Network?Ken

In my quest to try and get rid of my violenty shimmering horizons as they are rendered in the far distance I discovered that on different days and ast different times, the weather is depicted differently. For example, yesterday (27th Feb) at 1300, there was an obvious "haze layer" in the far distance which "hid" the far horizon and shimmering mountains until they slowly came into view through the "haze". Today, same time set but the view is completely different.....I can again see the mountains actually being rendered and thus shimmering violenty as there is no "vail" of haze. Because of a permission withdraw by a model designer WOAI was forced to remove the following packages from the net. I am hoping someone has at least a few of these packages from when they were still available that could send them to me. I have downloaded and installed every single available package and check their site every day for new ones as I find their packages to be the very best. But the ones unavailable are pretty major ones and leave rather unsightly gaps at many of my European and US airports. Especially those in Scandinavia, Hungary, Poland and the UK. The constant trend with some developers to slave the landing lights to the VC lighting...1. CLS 7672. Quality Wings 757 (being addressed in SP1)3. Some of Caranado's birds4. Flight1 has done this with aircraft like their PC12...For the record landing lights should have nothing to do with any lighting in the cockpit. I wish this oversite in development would stop. My latest aggravation is with CLS's 767. On their forums they've went so far as to exclude the dome light (guess it's time to change those marketing pictures) which really takes that add-on to a turn for the worse when it comes to night ops. I few days ago my FPS suddenly dropped. I have FPS locked at 25. But now I am getting anywhere from 1- 12. The only thing I know I did was to add a couple of repaints to a freeware aircraft. Added manually...
